Baby Girl Congrats

For my card today I created the background by stamping a background stamp by Hero Arts onto patterned paper by Daisy D. The ink I used is Tattered Rose by Ranger. It matched the patterned paper perfectly. That patterned paper is mounted onto a piece of cardstock by Ranger Industries/Coredinations. The owls are a stamped image by Hampton Arts. I stamped it with Colorbox ink and then after it dried sprayed it with water and Perfect Pearls. The die cut for the image is by Spellbinders. The heart stamp is by American Crafts and is punched out into a deckled square shape by Marvy. The congrats ribbon is by American Crafts and the border punch on my card is by Stampin Up.

Thanks for looking.

Celebrate with burlap

For my card today I created the background by dry embossing white cardstock and then inking the edges with distress ink Walnut Stain using an ink blender by Ranger. The white cardstock is by Recollections and matted with sand colored cardstock by Creative Memories. The die cut in the center was cut out using the Cricut and the Creative Memories Holiday Frames and Tags. I used cardstock by Oriental Trading Co (kraft), Provo Craft (cream) and Bazzill (dark brown) for the die cut. The stamped sentiment is by Papertrey Ink with ink by Hero Arts. The brads and burlap are from my stash.

Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday

Thank you for understanding the cancellation of last weeks Manly Monday post. I'm still a little foggy from the past week but I'm going to do my best to pull things together for you.

I have a few cards to share with you from people all around blog-land. Please be sure to leave them a comment and tell them you saw your card on Manly Monday.
Today is my 1600th post. Thanks to all my readers.

Here's my card I made using a beer bottle cap. It was for my nephews 23rd birthday. I created the background by dry embossing a piece of chipboard and then painting over it with Making Memories paint. Embossing folder by Darice. The ribbon die cut was cut out using my Cricut. The cardstock in my card is by Recollections. The stamp is by Fiskars and craft ink is by Stampin Up.

Chalk Ah Lot Christmas

I'm posting to on the Chalk Ah Lot blog today. The theme is Christmas with chalk. I used chalk two different ways for my card today. The cardinal is colored in with powdered chalk and paint by Stamp N Plus. The ink I used for the image is by Hero Arts and it works well with the paint mixture.

The background paper is also made with powdered chalk and paint. When I have left overs of the mixture I paint it onto a spare sheet of cardstock to use later. I took the cardstock and dry embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I adhered red vintage lace around the corners and thought this isn't enough. So I added some Martha Stewart ribbon with a "button" my mom gave me. Then the sentiment stamp was stamped onto this Spellbinders die cut with Stampin Up white craft ink.

Thanks so much for looking.

Sympathy cards

Quick post today. I'm still dealing with the loss of my father in law. Today is the burial and tomorrow everyone goes home. Then the new normal will begin and life as we knew it will be forever changed.
With that being said I have a few sympathy cards I wanted to share or re-share with you where I used a Stamp N Plus sentiment for the Stamp N Plus blog
This first one uses a sentiment from this sentiment sheet, which you can purchase by calling Luann at
715-271-1873

I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder.

This second card uses a sentiment stamp from this stamp sheet: Call Luann to order at 715-271-1873

I used a die cut to mask off the area to ink the outside and then used the negative portion of it to place the flower rub-ons inside the die cut area.

This last one uses THIS stamp that I heat embossed with a off white mixed embossing powder.

Thanks for looking.

Chalk Ah Lot nautical card

Back again for week 2 on the Chalk Ah Lot blog challenge blog for the challenge Nautical with Chalk. Here is my card which is similar to last weeks card. The waves have been painted with a mixture of powdered chalk and paint by Stamp N Plus. I added Stardust chalk to the embossed area after I inked it with distress ink. It's hard to see in this picture but in real life it has a beautiful shimmer to it.

The anchor tag was painted with Gem chalk for the outside and Foggy for the anchor. I adore this card however I don't know what occasion it would be used for. I might hold onto this one for a while before sending it out to friends or family just so I can look at it:)

The embossing folder and twine/string is by Darice. The die cuts are all by Cricut's cartridge Life's a Beach. I really like the little seagulls. The cardstock used in this card is by Recollections.

Thanks for looking.

Stamp N Plus Christmas card

Today I have a card that is also being featured on the Stamp N Plus blog

The Santa stamp that can be found HERE was heat embossed with silver embossing powder using Versa Mark ink. Then I decided to give him some life by coloring him in with paint mixed with powdered chalk also by Stamp N Plus. The colors I used were Flesh for his face and Stardust for his beard. The hat part of the stamp didn't leave much room for color but I did manage to spread a little of the red chalk on there.

The red doily looking die cut is by Spellbinders and the circles were cut out using my Creative Memories cutting system. I hand cut the Santa out and if I could find my foam adhesive I would have popped him up but they are not making an appearance today or these past few weeks. I wonder if they got thrown away by accident. Maybe it's time to buy some new ones. I hate going into the big box stores because I never make it out of there with just my one item. Same for online shopping. Why not fill up that $6.99 shipping box, Right?

Anyway, The houndstooth patterned paper is by We R Memory Keepers and the flower paper and green circle paper is by Making Memories. The cardstock is by Recollections or Hobby Lobby. The sentiment stamp is also by Stamp N Plus. I'll include a picture of all the sentiments that you get when you purchase the sheet. See below. I stamped it with white craft ink by Stampin Up. The piece of cardstock was longer but I cut it off at the Santa to make it look like he was saying it. Kind of a stretch, I know, but work with me:)
So that's my card for today and now that I'm done with one wedding I move onto the next one, which is August 3rd. It's coming up fast and I have some time consuming work to get to. I hope to post more consistently even though I'm working on other stuff behind the scenes.

One last thing is this card would be perfect for the Christmas Cards all year Round challenge going on until the end of the month, which is All about Santa. Be sure to join in on the fun going on over there.

If you would like to order this set of rubber stamp sentiments by Stamp N Plus call Luann at 715-271-1873. Well worth the money. I reach for these over and over again.

Love never Ends

Life has been crazy busy with weddings lately. There are a handful that I am doing work for and find joy in working with brides and they're mothers. Just today I finished up wedding invitations, which I will post probably Friday, and gave them to the beautiful bride-to-be. Hopefully she likes them as much as I did.

After talking about weddings, I have a wedding card to share today. The patterned paper and chipboard embellishment are by Prima, Kraft Cardstock by Oriental Trading Co, ribbon by Michael's, vellum sticker sentiment by K and Co and border punch by Martha Stewart.

The second circle embellishment I made by stamping the My Stamp Box flower onto watercolor paper by Strathmore with Versa Mark ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I covered the stamped area with Ranger Industries gold Distress Stain. Once it was dry I used my Creative Memories cutting system to make the flower into a circle. The center of the flower contains beads by Queen and Co which I adhered with Rangers glossy accents.

That's my card for today. Best wishes for a glorious Thursday. My co-worker and I have big plans to attend the farmers market today. It will be a hot one if the weather is anything like yesterday.

Manly Monday

This week for our Manly Monday post I have two great masculine cards to share. Plus I'm kind of excited to share my card with you today. It is one I've been holding on to since December and I think it's pretty safe to post it by now.

For my card today I used THIS golf bag stamp by Stamp N Plus. I heat embossed it using ink by Versa Mark and embossing powder by Ranger (copper) and then die cut it out using a Spellbinders die. The cardstock is by Recollections. The second layer to my focal image is this specialty paper that I got for a buck at a scrapbook show a long time ago. There are three different colors and they are in the shape of a circle. The circle is too big to use on my cards and so I die cut it using a Spellbinders scallop circle die. Normally I would say no scallop circles for manly cards but for some reason I'm OK with it on this card. The next layer is a recycled item. My friend gave me a pile of upholstery fabric samples. I thought to myself this would make a great background. It has great texture but isn't raised up so much that it needs extra postage.
For the rest of my card I used patterned paper by My Mind's Eye and brown cardstock by Three Bugs in a Rug. The first part of my sentiment is a K an Co sticker again on Recollections cardstock. The second part is comprised of circle punched shapes that I tucked half of it under the cardstock. The letter stickers are so old that I don't know what company produces them.

That's all I have for you today. It would be great to see you again next week.

Christmas Cards All Year Round Mid Month

I hope this post finds you well and ready for some Christmas card inspiration. It is the middle of the month and I wanted to share with you some more Christmas cards that I made for the challenge at Christmas Cards all Year Round.
The challenge this month is:
It's all about Santa
Include anything on your card that has to do with Santa- presents, reindeer, elves, you get the idea.

My first card uses an elf digi from Kenny K's and he's on sale for $1.00. Can't beat that price for such a cute digi stamp.
I colored him in with Copic markers. {See below for the exact markers} The die cuts are by Spellbinders and Copic paper by Cryogen. The patterned papers are from Bazzill, Echo Park, Basic Grey and Recollections. Present embellishments from Recollections and sentiment stickers by The Girls' Paperie.

Skin-E00, E000, E0000, R30. Eyes-B00. Hair-Y17, Y13, Y11, Y28. Reds in the hat and jacket-R39, R27, R24, R22. Greens-YG25, YG63, YG67, G82. Boots and belt-Black 100, W5, W3, W1. Hat C1. Dots-B00 and C00.

Challenges:

http://cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com/- Christmas in July (must have die cuts)

Next I made this Santa card with a stamp from Inkadinkado. I heat embossed the Santa with Versa Mark ink and Stamp N Plus white embossing powder. Then I inked the Recollections white cardstock with the colors Tea Dye and Fired Brick Distress Inks from Ranger Industries. I sprayed the piece of cardstock with water and let it dry. After it was dry I came back to it with a paint brush and Barn Door Distress Ink where I "colored in" the hat. Something a little different but I like the way it looks. The patterned paper is by Bazzill and Recollections. Border punch by Stampin Up, white cardstock by Recollections and red cardstock and decorative brad by Making Memories. I've had that brad for probably 3 years now. I just think they are too pretty to use on a card. I have hoarder issues. The sentiment sticker is from Hobby Lobby.

Here I have another Santa card with the Santa stamp also by Inkadinkado. Again I heat embossed the stamp with the products above and then used a circle punch to punch it out. I then layered the circle onto two Spellbinders dies. The background was created by inking my embossing folder (by SU) before putting it through the Cuttlebug using Ranger Distress Ink and kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co. I then sprayed it with water and let it dry. Other supplies; the ribbon is vintage from Hubby's grandmother and the tree brad is from Creative Imaginations. The circle punch is from Creative Memories and I inked the edges with more Distress Ink. The sentiment is OOOOLD (2001) by Mrs. Grossman's. The patterned paper is from American Crafts.

Chalk Ah Lot Nautical

The week's challenge (#40) over at Chalk Ah Lot is nautical with chalk. For my card today I cut out some die cuts from the Cricut cartridge Life's a Beach and chalked them up. The waves are size 11/2 on white cardstock and then I utilized the shift option by cutting out the outline wave on two of them. I then combined powdered chalk and paint from Stamp N Plus and painted over the white cardstock with the colors Jules Blue, Sky and Jade. I combined the different colors on my paint brush and then used the streaking property of the chalk to create deeper colors. The sentiment is a die cut from the same cartridge that I painted with Gem and Foggy Powdered chalk. The die cut it is on is by Sizzix and I inked those edges with Ranger Distress ink. The eyelets are from my stash and the rope is from Stampin Up.

Thanks for stopping by.

Manly Monday

A little (more like a lot) behind today with my post. I have a few cards to share today. Be sure to stop by their blogs and leave them a comment.

My card today is for a younger male turning 11 today. Of course the card didn't make it into the mailbox on time. In fact it's still sitting in my front seat. Lovely!

The stamp is by Oriental Trading Co. I stamped it with Hero Arts ink on Strathmore watercolor paper and then colored it in with Distress markers and water. Then I fussy cut it out and adhered it to Spellbinders dies. The patterned paper in my card is by DCWV (older paper from a boy stack). The sentiment stamp and ink is by Stampin Up and the staples are from Ranger.
Thanks for looking.

Stamp N Plus Fish birthday

I made this card for the Stamp N Plus blog today. I just love the way the fish turned out. I used powdered chalks and paint to achieve all the different colors. Then I inked the edges with Distress ink and a blending tool. Then......it had an accident and I was devastated. I was so mad at myself that I put it far away so I didn't have to be reminded of my stupid mistake. Well I have been cleaning things up around here and I found it again. This time I had a much better outlook on it and was able to cover my mistake and make it look awesome. So why am I telling you this? I'm avoiding doing stuff I don't want to do. Lol.

So you can find the fish stamp HERE and powdered chalks HERE. The patterned paper is by DCWV, the die cuts are by Spellbinders and the bubbles are from my stash. The fish is heat embossed using ink by Versa Mark and embossing powder by Stamp N Plus.

Thanks for looking.

GDT at My Stamp Box week 2

Welcome to week 2 for my guest designer spot at My Stamp Box. If you missed last weeks awesome projects head HERE to check them out.

This is the stamp I used for my projects. It's so pretty and fun to stamp with.

I created this layout for my calendar. Around November I make multiple calendars for family but for my own calendar in my studio and at work I create them monthly. The flowers add a nice accent to my already girly page. I used the smallest flowers in the smallest circle punches in a dark purple.

For this flower below I heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder on watercolor paper. I covered the area with distress stain and then heat set it to dry. Using my finger I applied iridescent powder to the center area and then cut the flower in the shaped of a circle. The beads for the center of the flower adds another layer of dimension. Just squeeze Glossy Accents in the center and add the beads. You may have to do it a couple of times depending on how far you want this to stick off your project.

For my last project I thought to myself, "I didn't use the stems in the stamp set". Since summer is in full swing the stems reminded me of waves and "hey, those leaves look like fish".
I stamped the waves out on some patterned paper in different water color inks and then inked the edges near the bottom because water is darker as it gets further away from the sun. I hand cut the top with the flow of the stamps.

The "fish"/leaves were stamped on white cardstock with 3 different colors of craft ink. I then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. The orange fish is the back side of the smaller leaf. After stamping and embossing the leaves, I cut them out, gave them an eye and a tail and adhered them to the sea with foam adhesive.
Just showing you another way to use your stamps. Always look for something different in your stamps then they were intended for.

Thanks so much to My Stamp Box for letting me play. I have more projects to share using this stamp set like this one HERE and more to look for in the near future.
Thanks for stopping by.
