Manly Monday

Late edition of Manly Monday. Please leave a comment if you can on all of these ladies blogs. There is something for the boys and the boys at heart. Enjoy!

My card uses a Stamp N Plus Truck Iris folding stamp. I used some scraps of blue I had laying around. The Sun stamp is also by Stamp N Plus but the warden just came down and told me it's 9 PM and time for bed. Thanks for stopping by.

To Have and to Hold

I have a wedding card to share today. I'm thinking I should start making a bunch for the upcoming season. The patterned paper is by Basic Grey with cardstock by Stampin Up, Studio G and Recollections. There is a lacy ribbon down the middle that was shear in its middle and I placed pretty washi tape over that center piece. The cake brad is by Eyelet Outlet. They have such a fun variety of shapes and sizes. My sentiment stamp is by American Crafts with Hero Arts black ink.

The heart die cut is cut using my Cricut and the Cricut Craft Room. I kinda like that craft room digital thingy and how every now and then {It's probably like weekly but Idk for sure} they add another couple pieces of cartridges that you can cut out for a short time period. I'm trying to get into the habit of checking it every couple days to get the latest freebie. The other day they had Easter sentiments and a variety of different eggs. Today they had a spring sentiment and a few other things that I could use like music notes and flower pots.  So if you have a Cricut I totally suggest playing with the Cricut Craft Room for freebies and also for welding your letters together to make phrases. It beats gluing each letter onto a scrapbook page to find that the letters are crooked.

Easter Bunny Card with a Stenciled background using ink and embossing paste

I made an Easter card for the Stamp N Plus blog today. The Bunny stamp and sentiment are both by Stamp N Plus.

The background is a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop that I applied a slight rainbow of distress inks. Then I applied Dreamweaver's clear embossing paste and got this great texture for my background. I used Tim Holtz watercolor distress paper, yellow Bazzill cardstock, Recollections white cardstock and yellow patterned paper by Crate Paper's. The circle dies are by Spellbinders and from my Cricut and the ribbon is from my stash. I stamped the sentiment and the bunny with Hero Arts black ink.

Thanks for looking.

The sentiment sheet of stamps is not on their website but if you are interested in purchasing what you see below, you can call Luann at 715-271-1873 to place your order.

Always a friend

I have a quick post tonight using some new products. The background stamp is by Hero Arts which I colored with colored with distress markers and sprayed it with water before stamping it onto watercolor paper by Strathmore. The flower stamp is (I think) by Stampin Up and I used different colored pigment inks to give it a light and dark. The sentiment stamp says Always a friend and it is by Simon Says Stamp. The border dies on and the white circle die is by Spellbinders and the yellow circle is a Cricut Art Philospophy cartridge.
Thanks for looking.

If Friends were flowers

I have a new Deep Red card to share today. The stamp can be found at A Cherry on Top and Scrapbook.com.
You may remember THIS card that I made using the same stamp but in yellow and without the bird. This time I kept the whole stamp together. The image is heat embossed in white embossing powder by Stamp N Plus and Versa Mark ink. I used a finger sponge to make the bird purple and then the rest of the card pink with distress ink and an ink blender.
The background is a floral stencil that I applied distress inks on to first and then added translucent embossing paste on top of that. I did this on a large piece of Strathmore watercolor paper thinking I would use distress inks on the edges. Well I haven't quite done that on either one of the cards using this back ground but it could happen with the one or two of the remaining embossed pieces. The other card I made using this background can be found HERE. I added Liquid Pearls to the center of a few of the flowers and a piece of Michael's ribbon to the lower left corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

myStamp Box card

I have a card today using the Abundant Blossoms stamp set by myStamp Box.

I stamped this one flower with Hero Arts black ink onto Strathmore watercolor paper. Then I colored it in with distress markers and a water pen both by Ranger Industries. I die cut it out using a Spellbinders circle die and inked the inside of the circle with light pink distress ink. Then I just thought it needed some sparkle so I took out my Wink of Stella pen, clear gold, and colored it into the flower. You can really see the sparkle in the up close photos.

Thanks to Jennifer McGuire for introducing the pens to me. She didn't say in her videos or blog posts that the thing is so addicting. I want to use it on every project. Anyway, I had this white paper flower that I adhered to the card and layered the circle on top of it with foam adhesive.

I made the sentiment with the Mini Alpha- Small box stamps. The sentiment piece and the patterned paper by Stampin Up  have the edges inked with distress ink and an ink blender. The sentiment was splashed with water. Both ribbons are by Offray and the cardstock by Recollections.

Best Wishes

I made this card for an upcoming anniversary. I like to use Best Wishes on the front and then I can put the usually Happy Anniversary on the inside. I'm always thinking about what the inside of the card will say. Some crafters I know say leave them blank so people can put their own message or write a note on the inside. Every time I do that I end up writing Happy Anniversary love husband and I. I would rather it already have the sentiment inside so people don't have to read my poor handwriting. So now you know that best wishes cards are an easy out for the inside. You could use it for and I have for birthdays, get wells, graduation, Mother's or Father's Day cards, goodbye, missing you, thank you, etc.

My card is pretty simple today. The darker blue DP is by Papertrey ink and the lighter blues by Stampin Up {both paper pads are old}. I stamped the large Hero Arts branch with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with brown/copper Ranger embossing powder. The birdhouse was done the same as the branch just on white paper and then fussy cut out. The bird and sentiment are stamped with yellow Versa Color pigment ink and then cut outs the ribbon is from Stampin Up-I turned the polka dots upside down.

Thanks for looking.

Stamp N Plus An Apple a Day

I'm posting a card at the Stamp N Plus blog today. My card features THIS Apple Stamp and a Thanks stamp both by Stamp N Plus. The thanks stamp is from a sheet of sentiments/labels that are not on the website but can be purchased. See below for photo of all the sentiments/labels included and the phone number to order yours today.

I stamped the apple image using a mixture of powdered chalk and paint both by Stamp N Plus
I mixed the two together and then painted each color onto my stamp and stamped it to the cardstock. Check out THIS tutorial on how exactly how I stamped the image for my card.

Once it was dry I used a Quickutz die cut to give it shape. The thing I like about this apple stamp is that you can use just about any shape of die cut to give it life. I can just imagine an oval or one of  my many Spellbinders label dies. I chose this one because at the time it was new to me.

The patterned paper in my card is by DCWV. It isn't red red and I liked that because my apple isn't red red. I could have place it with a red color but chose these kind of fun colors instead. I stamped the sentiment onto a white circle punch by EK Success and cut the bottom half off to fit my cards design. The ink I used is by Hero Arts-my favorite black ink by far!

I really like the way the border came together. The reddish color border is by Martha Stewart and it is like what you see on both sides. I decided to hide the one side under the patterned paper. I border punched the white cardstock by Studio G with a Fiskars punch. I lined the two up together and they were a perfect fit. Love it. I covered the seam with a green piece of cardstock by Creative Memories.

Call Luann at 715-271-1873 to order your sentiments today.

myStamp Box color combo

Hi all, I'm posting a new card for the myStamp Box design team.

We were sent two colors of  Versa Color ink pads and was then asked to use just those two colors on a project. I made a card and used the present stamp in the Christmas stamp set Merry Mr. Snowman. I heat embossed the presents with clear embossing powder by myStamp Box. I wanted a thick coverage so I embossed twice by adding more embossing powder to the image before it cooled.

The patterned paper is by Papertrey Ink (blue) and Stampin Up (red and red ribbon too). The big gem is by Forever in Time and the small ones by Imaginisce-I heat set them to the card front. The sentiment is a K and Co sticker that I inked the edges with the blue ink.

Stop by the myStamp Box Blog to see more projects using myStamp Box products. Thanks for looking.

Time to Celebrate

My card today uses a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop and translucent embossing paste by Dreamweaver's Stencils. This is my first time with this paste and I didn't do it perfect but I really loved playing with it.

I taped the stencil down and used distress inks and an ink blander to each of the flowers using pinks and purples. Then I applied the clear paste and let dry for hours. I matted the background piece to a Bazzill purple cardstock and placed a small line of patterned paper just below the middle. The border die cut is by EK Success, the scrap of lavender cardstock and pink for the butterflies is also by Bazzill, the pearls are by Recollections, stamp by Just Rite Stamps and the ink for it is a distress marker-Seedless something or other.

I really wish it would have photographed better but I guess that will come with practice too.

{I couldn't decide if this whole shot of the card was better then the one above so I included both}

Wish Big

I based my card on THIS Pinterest post for the challenges at Paper Smooches-Anything goes and Mark's Finest Papers-Black, White and 1 other color {Purple.}

The card base is patterned paper by DCWV and the black and white is by Rusty Pickle. The stamps in my card are by Paper Smooches and the ink is by Versa Mark for embossing and Memento Black ink for the other two stamps. The white cardstock is by Studio G and the light purple by Bazzill. The flower is by Prima, border bunches by EK success (not sure about their cardstock brands) and the pearls are by Recollections.

Thanks for looking.

True Friends Card

I have another Deep Red Stamp card for you today. This one focuses on the True Friends sentiment that can be found at A Cherry on Top and at Scrapbook.com.

This is another larger card for me. I usually only make the 4 x 5.5 cards but have recently taken an interest in larger ones. I received the We R Memory Keepers Envelope maker and want to make sure I use it. The size of this one is an odd 4 1/2 x 6 1/8.

The patterned paper is by Cosmo Cricket and it covers the front of the card front. I adhered lace to the top and bottom and then layered a Spellbinders border die cut on top of that. I usually have problems embossing the borders but this one came out almost perfect. The next layer is orangish cardstock by Color-Aid and then the stamped sentiment. I heat embossed it with Versa Mark ink and Stamp N Plus gold embossing powder. The little sticker on the side is by K and Co.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.

Happy Birthday greetings

My Deep Red Stamp card today features this Flourish with Leaves stamp.
My inspiration for the card comes from Nina B for the doily and Jennifer McGuire for the hearts. My card is a large one for me 4 1/2 x 7. It's always nice to try something new.
I heat embossed the stamp with Versa Mark ink and Ranger red embossing powder. I cut the piece down and matted it with patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket.
The red patterned paper is also by Cosmo Cricket, doily by Little Yellow Bicycle, and cardstock by Bazzill.
The sentiment is a rub-on from a convention years back. They didn't come in a package just stuffed in a goodie bag. The hearts are a die cut by Papertrey Ink. The paper is by Stampin Up and I covered it with distress ink. Then I applied a Wink of Stella clear gold pen on them and finished up with some Glossy Accents.
Thanks for looking.

For my card today I went with the St Patrick's Day scheme. I made my background with a stencil by The Crafter's Workshop and Ranger's distress inks with an ink blender. The sentiment is a rub on on vellum and then  attached to the card front with eyelets. The Shamrock stamp by Stamp N Plus was stamped using Mowed Lawn Distress ink onto white cardstock and punched out with a Creative Memories circle punch. The matte behind it was green but not like the shamrock so I inked a strip of green cardstock with the distress ink. I used the ink pad to paper technique. It matches beautifully.

Thanks so much for taking a look.
