Let's Celebrate

Happy Sunday everyone. I have a new card I made for my husbands birthday and a couple of challenges. The gnome image is by MelonHeadz and I colored him in with Copic markers. I'm not really very good with shading but I like to color when I have free time and want to relax for a bit. I Googled gnome images and this one was the best for the marker colors that I own. 

Once I colored him in I die cut him and the next size rectangle out with my Spellbinders dies.  The sequins are recycled from an old dance costume and the stars, Recollections cardstock, is a die cut by Quickutz/Life Style Crafts/We R Memory Keepers. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with red Ranger embossing powder. 

For my background paper I took some white Studio G cardstock and rubbed Dizzy powdered chalk by Stamp N Plus over it with a cosmetic wedge. I was going to dry emboss the cardstock but thought it looked great as is.

It's the Little things

Long day but I'm finally here posting.

Here is another card using a woodgrain stamp. For this card I stamped the Hero Arts background stamp with Stampin Up ink (I think it's the caramel color) onto white cardstock. Then I inked the edges with Ranger's distress ink and an ink blender. Love the way the edges look darker and it fades inward. The Hero Arts sentiment is stamped on Recollections pink patterned paper. I then matted the background panel to brown cardstock from Hobby Lobby. The ribbon on the left is by Offray and I glued the Prima leaf ribbon on top of it. The flower is by Martha Stewart.

Just Becuz

I have a small series of cards I'll be sharing over the next three days using wood grain stamps. With spring on my mind I'm drawn to nature this time of year and it reflects in the projects I'm working on. 

For this card I stamped the circle background onto Kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co with brown Stampin Up ink. I matted that piece onto brown cardstock by Bazzill. On the same brown color cardstock I stamped this Hero Arts sentiment using white pigment ink by Stampin Up. Once it was dry I added it to the bottom of my card front and placed a leaf brad by Creative Imaginations to the left. 

The leaf in the center is chipboard from some packaging (way to be green on Earth day) that I cut into the leaf shape using a Spellbinders die. I was able to emboss it giving a nice raised rim around the edge. I stamped a different wood grain background on it with the same brown ink and then inked the edges with Rangers Distress Inks. I let it dry for a few minutes and then covered it with Rock Candy crackle paint by Tim Holtz for Ranger Industries. After it dried I adhered the leaf to the front of the card with foam adhesive.

So my card was for my nephews birthday. He really likes hockey and this was a quick pull it together before the party and then my husband didn't give it to him for some odd reason. Idk what happened but it ended up back in my bag, unsigned and with the envelope. I know I'll forget to ask him and the fact that was over a week ago means he won't remember what happened with it. lol we are a pair-a pair of what? Idk.

I used a hockey sticker from an old Creative Memories hockey pack-you know the kind with the paper, matting and stickers that all match-yeah that's the one. I placed the sticker on to white cardstock and matted it on blue and then purple cardstock by Color-Aid. I added this square piece to a Karen Foster hockey paper, stamped the Hero Arts sentiment in black HA ink and embellished with little epoxy stickers by Cloud 9.

myStamp Box April

This month at the myStamp Box blog the DT was asked to use the Collage Stamping technique. If you check it out you will see I didn't fall far from the example. I used the following stamp sets to make my card:

July 4th Up-Cycled with vintage ribbon Banner

There's a new challenge at Chalk Ah Lot which is re-purpose or recycle something with chalk. I choose to use the clear CDs that come on top of the large stack of CDs my department uses to burn patient images to take with them to other doctors or hospitals.

The base of the pennants is a clear CD with a red circle over the center. Oh, wait I actually put some vintage red white, and blue ribbon over the circle first. I used Stamp N Plus red powdered chalk on the heart in the pennant below.

The patterned paper is old and Idk who it's by. I embellished the banner with stickers by K and Co, a vintage bottle cap, corners by Making Memories {very old}, and a square sticker that I cut in half to use as corners by Sticko.

I die-cut the letters out using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. Each letter has three circles and I placed a red sequin into each. The largest circle's sequins have a rhinestone in the center.

All this is held together by some red, white, and blue ribbon and ready for the summer to begin.

Thinking of you

I made this card for the inspirational Thursday challenge at Mark's Finest Papers. My mom buys me random crafty things and these green feathers arrived Friday by mail-She is a snowbird off in Florida and I'm in cold blah Michigan. As soon as I saw this weeks challenge I thought the feathers looked like the eyes in the first photo but with the color scheme of the third. Check out these eye photos:

I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil and Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels to make the background on SU cardstock. The patterned paper behind the misted cs is by Doodlebug Designs, die cut by Spellbinders in yellow Recollections cs, and green burlap ribbon by The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is heat embossed in white and then I ran the cs through a pool of two different yellow distress inks. I had to use two because one was too yellow and the other too orange so I put them together to see what I would get. I used a SU scallop circle punch on the sentiment and went around the edges of each scallop with a Wink of Stella clear gold glitter pen.

Cracked Egg Iris Folding Easter Card

I have a new card featuring an iris folding stamp of a cracked egg and a fun font Easter sentiment both by Stamp N Plus. I used a yellow patterned paper for the iris folding, manufacturer is unknown. The yellow and white cardstock are by Recollections and the square card base is by Studio 112. At the bottom of the card is a row of embossed bunnies. I placed a pearl at the neck of each bunny and then scattered pearls around the card. The sentiment has been stamped with black Hero Arts ink.

Stamp N Plus Wedding Card

Stamp N Plus iris folding stamps are so amazing to work with. This dress stamp can be found HERE and other dress stamps can be found HERE or HERE.

I used a silver and white patterned paper, which is very old with no manufacturer on it. Then I added tiny little flowers by Stamping Scrapping to the top and one in the center right. There is a row of rhinestones at the waist of the dress and inside each flowers center. These rhinestones are by Imaginsce. 

I matted the dress onto black cardstock and then onto a gray card base. I embellished with some corner stickers and a sentiment all by Me and My Big Ideas.

A little something for everyone

Sooooo...I've needed a little help with inspiration lately and have turned to Mark's Finest Papers Ning site to get those creative juices flowing. I wanted to show you what I've made over the last two weeks using their challenges as my inspiration. 

First tonight I made a tag for the purple and white challenge.

The tag came purple but there's no manufacturer on the package to say who it is by. I bought the pack of purple and then a pack of pink tags from the outlet store in Grand Rapids. The braiding that I use for a ribbon at the top is by Wright. The white flower is by Petaloo and the purple roses are left overs from a bouquet. I stamped the background of the tag with a Hero Arts background stamp, Versa Mark ink and purple embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. The white and purple ribbon are by Offray. The sentiment tag is by K and Co with the stamps on the tag by Mark's Finest Papers and ink by Stamp It.

This next one is a card using the wax paper resist technique. After doing the technique I inked the glossy paper with blue and green distress inks and an ink blender. All three of those products are by Ranger. Then I stamped the hex dotted line stamp all over the inked paper and punched them out with a hexagon punch. Both of those are by Stampin Up and the black ink I used is by Hero Arts. I pieced it together and wanted to add something to the edge so I pulled out some self adhesive ribbon by DCWV that I've had for years. The adhesive was showing through and I didn't like it so I grabbed an Offray green ribbon to go over where the adhesive showed through. The sentiment is on a scrap of blue cardstock with the sentiment by Mark's Finest Papers and the ink again by Hero Arts. I liked this one. Something different and out of the box for me.

This next card was featured in the gallery at MFP Speedy TV. Both birds and the sentiment are by MFP. I stamped the birds on watercolor paper in Hero Arts black ink and used distress markers and a water pen to color them in. The sentiment is heat embossed in my favorite "gold" embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. The patterned papers, which are perfect for spring, are by Making Memories and Bazzill. The pearls are by Want 2 Scrap.

So next I did a color challenge which I have to admit that if it's an odd color challenge I usually won't do it. But I thought this is what I need to do to get out of my rut and start producing some awesome stuff. The challenge was Blue-Pink-Turquoise and I hated every second of it. My card uses patterned papers by Basic Grey(frame), The Paper Studio (pink) and My Mind's Eye (diagonal). The stamped sentiment is by K and i Memories, which I love that font. The white sparkle flower is by Jolee's, turquoise flower by Prima (old) and black and white flowers by Petaloo. The leaf chipboard is by Making Memories. Not my favorite at all and the gem in the middle of the flower would be a pain to mail through the post office. 

So this next bunch of projects are scrapbook pages. I usually don't share my scrapping on this blog but hey why not. 

This first one is a horrible photo but the challenge was to do the sunshine rays effect and I did it over the photo to the left but it's hard to make out in this picture. This is one of the layouts for this boy book that I'm making for a friend at work. I like to keep boy pages kind of tame and not all embellished out. This layout has a piece of patterned paper three cardstocks and a few stickers by K and Co.

The next two where for a brad challenge, which I think was use more then three on your projects. I did these and the challenge ended before I could post them. Oh well. I hand stamped each letter for the title using Stampin Up letters stamps onto Design Objectives label dies. The brads are by Close to my Heart. The sun, tent and campers are stamps by Inkadinkado and the strip of patterned paper off to the right is by Crate Papers. I inked the edges with distress ink and an ink blender. Again these layouts are for a male high school senior so I kept them simple.

For the Halloween layout there's a seasonal brad on each photos. My patterned paper s are by Recollections (pumpkins) and Doodlebug (stars). The pumpkin stamp is by Studio 112 and I stamped it with Colorbox ink. 

Last one. The challenge for this one was burgundy and grey but you could use any neutrals you wanted. I cut the title out using Cricuts Craft Room Font. The scooter and helmet are from Everyday Paper Dolls. I cut the ovals out with my Creative Memories oval cutter, patterned paper in the middle is by Recollections and the cardstock is by Coredinations, Recollections and Creative Memories.

Easter Blessings with a digital stamp

For my card today I have a digital stamp by Meljen's Designs. You can find the cross stamp HERE.

After I colored the image with Copic Markers I die cut it out using a Spellbinders die. Then I die cut the next size up with Creative Memories green cardstock. The patterned paper behind that is by My Mind's Eye.

The sentiment is heat embossed on vellum in a pleasant gold color. It didn't photo well but in real life the embossed color is a compliment to the green background. I used Versa Mark ink and the sentiment stamps and embossing powder are by Stamp N Plus. 

So just a couple little things left.The organza yellow ribbon is by Pebbles, the green grid paper is by Die Cuts with a View and the green patterned paper behind that is by K and Co. My vellum is by The Paper Studio {Hobby Lobby} and the card base is by Recollections. The Copic paper is by Cryogen.

Cross Easter Blessings

Hey all,

Today's card has a cross stamp by Stampin Up amd sentiment stamps by Stamp N Plus. The patterned paper is by Stampin Up and Making Memories. The pink panel is dry embossed with an edge embossing folder by Darice which is done twice. Because my paper was skinny and the folder is skinny I could emboss one side and then take that side out of the Cuttlebug sandwich which keeps that side already embossed nice and perky. lol 

I stamped the cross stamp with Memento black ink onto Cryogen cardstock where I colored in the floral pattern with Copic markers. After I was finished with that I used a Spellbinders die to cut and emboss it into the perfect rectangle. The yellow edge is punched with a Stampin Up border punch. I found the pink organza ribbon in a clearance bin at a scrapbook convention. No name on the packaging to identify the company. The sentiment was originally made with the two words side by side. I decided I wanted more freedom with this sentiment and cut them apart. I also stamp the two on scrap paper before my project to make sure they are lined up. The word blessings comes in handy for other sentiments that I like to use on my cards.
