Deep Red Golden Butterfly

Today my card features this butterfly stamp by:

You can find it at:

or

I heat embossed the butterfly in white with Versa Mark ink and myStamp Box white embossing powder onto Ranger watercolor paper. Then I die cut the image out using a Spellbinders die and inking the inside by the image while the paper was still inside the die. I colored the butterfly in with Distress Stains and a water pen both by Ranger. Set aside to let it dry completely.

I dry embossed a tan colored piece of paper by Color-Aid, a freebie pack of every color matte finished paper from a friend whom is an artist, with a Cuttlebug/Provo Craft embossing folder. I think it is a discontinued folder which is a bummer because it is such a great design. I took the bronze (I think that's the correct color) distress stain and rubbed it over the entire embossed area. I sprayed a few areas with water to even out the distribution of color. Set this piece aside and let dry.

The sentiment sticker is by Sticko/EKSuccess and I layered it on top a Creative Memories circle punch. I added a pearl from Want 2 Scrap onto the sentiment because adding pearls is what I do for every card I make these days.

For the bottom of the card I die cut a border by Spellbinders and layered on top of it some ribbon from my husband's Oma/grandmother. I just love it and have been hoarding it for far too long. I'm trying to be more like if I have something I really like then use it while you love it. This will make you happy or so I tell myself that it does.

Once everything was dry I assembled the card to a pre-made card base size 5x6.5 by Recollections. I used dimensional adhesive for the sentiment. It's a bummer I can't put this one out for sale. The card racks at both the stores I sell at have smaller openings and can't fit this big of a card.

Have a great rest of your week.
