Hidden Mickey

There is a hidden Mickey in the movie "All Dogs go to Heaven". It is when he reaches heaven and the two dogs are in the watch room. When Charlie follows the female dog there is a Mickey watch that can be seen in the middle of screen. I'm sure it's been sited before but it's the first time I've seen it.

Me a Design Team Member

I am on the Design Team for Nuts about sketches. Check out the site and leave some love on the layouts starting September 7th. I'm so excited to be part of a design team. The sketches are really awesome and can't wait for you to see what I come up with.

Scrap That week #4

This LO is for Scrap That week four sketch. I used Sunborn and HL CS, PP by MME and unknown, Stencil for the sewing by OTC, stickers by Doodlebug Designs and CM. The big circle was made by the new cutting system shape by Creative Memories. I think I may have to purchase it on Sept 1st when it comes out. I believe it has six different sizes. I will have to buy the 12 by 12 matte to go with it. TFL

Recycle

This is my recycled packaging LO for Back Porch Memories. The flower is packaging from colorbok and I just painted it with MM paint a few times. Then over the green flower is a plastic circle that I painted with MM glitter paint. The circle comes from the AC flowers. It is a divider between the top and bottom flowers. There is hidden journaling in the envelope. TFL

52 Sketches #32

This Lo was done with the sketch #32 from 52 sketches. Again with the scallop edges so this time I got even more creative. I just wrapped it around and pinned it up with a brad. It's not perfect but I kinda like the imperfection of it. After I spent an hour on it, going back and "fixing" it I thought it looked fabulous. Flowers by Prima, Petaloo and AC; Letter stickers by Current; brads by The Paper Studio and MM; PP by K&I

Creative Scrappers #65

This Lo is from Creative Sketch #65. This time for the scallop edge I punched holes out of the cs and put the pp and rik rak over half while the paper underneath shines thru giving the effect of a scallop trim. This LO has two negatives in it with the trim and the circle in the middle. I like to use the negatives of circles sometimes because they are so commonly used in sketches this makes it stand out a little bit. Th e buttons on this LO are also suppose to represent a scallop edge. I painted them with MM paint to have them match the blue in the white shirt. The buttons are from my inlaws and quite old. I was glad to find a use for them.

Scrap That week #3

This Lo is from the sketch at Scrap That. I don't have a way to make a 12 inch scallop edge so I used a circle punch, cut those circles in half and then adhered them on a strip of CS and hoped they were even. I think it turned out well. The stamps are by Autumn Leaves; flowers by Jolee's; beads and flower brad by PC; punches by Marvy, CM and EK Success; rhinestone title by Me and my big ideas; eyelets by MM. TfL

Texture of Summer

That is the theme for this weeks LO at Dixie Pieces with a color scheme of blue, fuschia and gray. You can add neutral colors-white, black, kraft- to the color scheme and that I did. I don't usually hand write any journaling on my layouts but for a change I did. TFL

Sunflower card

Here's a card I made with an old Stampin Up set. I heat embossed both the flowers and the leaves. The "ribbon" is old too. (from my MIL's stash) TFL

Yeah!!!

I found a chair for scrapbooking. It was a little expensive but now that I've scrapped with it, it was worth the money. Why did I wait so long (since Feb) to get a a good chair? Who knows. More later.

Scrapbook Layouts of trip to Florida

On my trip to visit the snowbirds, we went to the Eagles hall/lodge (not sure which one to use) and played Bingo. This was Mom's first time ever playing. We weren't too impressed by the person calling the numbers. You'd think he was talking to a bunch of old people because he was going so slow.

This sketch is from Creative-Scrappers.com. They post a sketch weekly for inspiration. Check them out. Flowers by Petaloo, OTC, Prima, Imaginence; Ribbon by Offray and unknown (green); stamps by Tim Holtz, SU, Inkadinkado; PP by Love Elsie and Sunborn; CS by SU and Pioneer; floss by J&P Coates; Brads by MM and BG.

This is Mom's mate Bob. He drove us all over Florida to check out as many old scrapbook stores as possible. Tons of fun for us.

The sketch for this LO is from Scrapthat.ca. They have a contest this month with a weekly sketch and a point system. If you like sketches definitely check it out. PP by DCWV, Far and Away scrapbooking and CM; Cartridge for Cricut is Life's a beach; Stamp by SU; Ink by Colorbox, and then Fastnators.

Sorry, I'm unable to provide links to these sites. I'm still learning how this works.

Did you know?

That on this day in 1995 the man Phil Harris died? Who's Phil Harris? He is the voice of Baloo the Bear from A Jungle Book, Thomas O'Malley cat from The Aristocrats and Little John in Robin Hood which are all Disney movies. Strange thing brought me to that information. I sometimes just randomly Google the actors and actresses of these older animated movies to see if they are still alive and today I chose him. Kinda creepy but blog worthy to say the least.

I Think

that may be a hidden Mickey-the three circles by the onion? Hmmmm

Ughhhh

It's storming outside making it very hard for me to focus and just relax. I keep thinking the power is going to go out. The dog is glued to my side and gets annoyed when I move. hehe The color combo blue and green keeps finding it's way onto my tabletop, which I love that combo just not 3 lo's in a row. Too many boys in this family. Oh well. When the rain stops I can take pictures and post my latest creations.

Layouts

I made this one for Coordinates Collections 1 page sketch. It is for a Guest Design team spot next month. We'll see=)

This is for Week #1 at Scrap That of a sketch. It earned me 5 points. No I have to get to work on this weeks sketch.

This is the card sketch at Cordinates collection. I've won from them before. They send out nice prizes.

Shopping

A friend and I went shopping today for a new chair for my office. All I want is something high because I'm sitting at a countertop, one I can cross my legs on, it needs wheels and arm rests and gives me good posture. We couldn't even find the first thing. Apparently at Staples you just have to order it and then you have 14 days to decide to keep it or not. Well, call me picky but I want to sit in the $200 chair first. How many times will they let me order and send back before I'm comfortable? Besides the lady I asked for help blew me off. grrrr Why do people in customer service do that? Whatever. My quest continues.

Dixie Pieces

I made this one for Sense-sational summer celebration week #1 over at Dixie Pieces. The challenge was to sew on the lo, use this color scheme and it has to be of something you smell in the summer (or something like that)
Fun news from that awesome site: I'm the guest designer for September. Way geeked about that. They are sending me a kit and I have to make so many LO's and cards using the kit. How fun!! Come check them out.

Welcome

I'm kind of saying it to myself, "Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging". Am I ready for this? Time will tell. My grammer ain't so good (hehe) but maybe this will make it improve. My plan is to basically showcase my scrapbooking and card making talents to the awesome people of scrapland, as I like to call it. I really hope to be chosen for a design team by one of these fab online scrapbooking communities.
So here we go. Today is 8-7 and I have started a blog. Enjoy.
