Merry Christmas A Child is Born card

Merry Christmas. A friend sent me this die cut and so I made a background using distress ink and flicked a little bit of water on it. I put wood-patterned paper behind the words. The patterned paper behind the front panel is by Colorbok. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Red White and Blue Birthday card

I started by taking some old patterned paper and a Sizzix die to create the die cuts in the center. I did ink the top two with distress ink as well as the white cardstock. The center die is from, and this is a guess, Creative Expressions. Thanks for looking.

The snowmen stamp is by Stampin Up and I colored them in with Copic Markers.

This next card is what I started with but I didn’t think the red in the sentiment matched the red in the patterned paper. So I found a rub-on that matched better and changed it.

Gingerbread Man Easel card

I used a polka dot background stamp by Hero Arts with pink Umbrella ink. The gingerbread stamp by Stamp N Plus. I stamped it onto a Spellbinders die cut before coloring it in with powdered chalk mixed with paint. I gave the icing some dimension with Liquid Pearls. The border is washi tape and the sentiment was typed up on the computer. 

I did not to take into account that there was another design on the other side of the paper, duh!

The circle is punch by Creative Memories. The pink door stopper is a former hair clip.  Thanks for looking.

Gold Frame around a Candle Christmas card

For my card today I have a candle that was cut out with my Cricut. I glued it onto a tag from my stash. (I have no clue as to where it came from.) The frame shape is the negative of a Simply Refined die. Idk how to explain this...I trimmed around the outside of the negative frame because when I ran the original die thru the Gemini I had another die too close to this die and therefore I didn't have enough gold to cover the entire card front. I think in five years when I come back to this post I will understand what I wrote. Maybe. 

The gold cardstock by Creative Memories is no longer being made. Such a bummer. Thanks for looking.

Simon Says Stamp has a new challenge- Tag it.

Decorated in pink is a Christmas Cookie Card

 I used the Christmas Cookie image by Robyn's Fetish. ( No longer in business). I watercolor painted the cookie with a combination of Distress inks (Tea Dye and Antique Linen) and a little water mixed with Perfect Pearls. The inside of the cookie is colored with Copic markers. Then I colored the frosting of the cookie with a paintbrush using Platinum Liquid Pearls and water. From there I used the White Opal Liquid Pearls and made the frosting dots.

Here is another card using the same Cookie stamp. You have to scroll down to the bottom of the post. I like that I was able to pull another image out from the drawer.

Happy Holidays card with a wheel stamp border

The patterned paper in the center is by Sunborn. The red borders are stickers by Creative Memories. The patterned paper on top is unknown. the drool mark is by my dog, Rusty. I should probably cover it up unless you didn't see it until I pointed it out. The wheel stamp border on the right is by Stampin Up. The sentiment sticker is intended to go inside a bottle cap. Torn Scraps Christmas Tree Card

I used the Cricut negative of a Christmas tree. I took some scraps and ripped them apart and glued them in different layers. Thanks for looking.

Peace Christmas dry and heat embossed card

The background is vellum that was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and then painted with white sparkle paint. The die cut in the back is made out of silver card stock. The die cut in the front has been heat embossed with silver silver powder around the edges and the sentiment. The Simon says stamp challenge this week is SPARKLE  That vellum gives off some  beautiful sparkle.  Thanks for looking.

Floral Friday Poinsettias Heat embossed in circles Christmas Cards

This card is in the Simon Says Stamp weekly challenge. This week it is Add some sparkle. The red paper is glitter cardstock

I clear heat embossed the poinsettia stamp, inked with distress ink to give them color, and circle punch by Creative Memories. The white die is by Papertrey Ink and inside it is a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is unknown. The glitter cardstock is by Recollections and the dotted line is a rub-on by Die Cuts with a View.

I made the flowers the same way as the first card. You can now see what they look like before adding red ink. The large center die cut is unknown but the square behind the center is by Spellbinders. All of the edges are inked with Distress ink.

These pictures represent winters in Michigan.

The three blueprints images are stamps by Tim Holtz. I stamped them onto his watercolor cardstock and colored them in with his distress ink refills and a water pen by him before I  inked the edges with distress ink, by him. The patterned paper is by My Mind’s Eye but idk about the paper that makes the extra fold. The Kraft cardstock card base is from The Paper Studio. Pink and Red snowman Christmas card

Hi. For my card today I used, Best Creations patterned papers, three different dies, two coloring mediums, and one sentiment stamp. So the dies are by Gina Marie in red, a Spellbinders die for my image, and an unknown die in black, The Spellbinders paper was inked with distress ink before I removed it from the die. The snowman is by Deep Red Stamps. I black heat embossed it and colored it in with powdered chalk mixed with paint and watercolor pencils by Stampin Up. I was able to smooth out the pencil lines with a water pen. The warm wishes sentiment is a stamp by Hero Arts.

Simon Says Stamp Anything goes challenge
I started doing this challenge more regularly about a month ago. I don't always make the card before the challenge ends. but that's okay because I use challenges as a way to spark my creativity or make me use supplies that I have. Last week's challenge was "not a card". I would have liked to use the challenge to get going on my calendars but Christmas cards took precedents. I will say that one of the recent challenges was to use foil and I finally pulled out the foil that had been in my stash for over a year. I'm not doing the challenges for the $25 prize because if I was I would get it done and linked up before the challenge expired. 

 I started thinking about how if I won the gift card that I would love to gift it to someone that doesn't have a lot of supplies and/or money to buy supplies. I have plenty of stuff but not everyone does.
So, I've decided that that's my new goal, Do the challenge, blog about it and link up before the challenge expires. Wish me luck and thanks for looking.

Christmas tree with Tinsel card

This card came from a group of cards I made RIGHT HERE. This one was an extra that I cut. I put Glossy Accents on the bulbs and two of them were torn off. I wanted to fix my mistake and came up with the idea to cover the holes with garland. The idea of blue garland was unappealing but did it anyway. I’m so glad I did because I love the results.
