Time to Rock at Steampunk

I love that there are so many different styles that one can portray when making cards. Today's card showcases one of those different for me styles-Steam Punk. I made this card for the challenge at Kenny K using THIS image, which is not as steam punk as some of his other images but I gave it my best shot with what I have.

The image is colored using Copic markers on Cryogen paper. I really like the shading of the guitar but for the rest I'm still working on lighting and hair. The patterned paper is by Scrap Works and I used various scraps of cardstock for the embellishments. I used a die cut by Sizzix-Tim Holtz and then I cut some gears out using Cricut's Indie Art cartridge. The die cut is positioned to the right {not sure if those are cogs or gears-but the aqua border down the side} which I secured to the card with washi tape. I ripped the washi tape down the center so it wasn't so wide covering up my die cut.

The brown circle, upper left, is stamped with a Fiskars polka dot circle stamp with Stampin Up craft ink. The clock is by Stamper's Anonymous. I heat embossed it with Versa Mark ink and Ranger Industries embossing powder. The arrow and brad are by Tim Holtz. Last little things; circle punches by EK Success and Creative Memories, aqua letters by Cosmo Cricket, brown letters by Colorbox and sequins by Multi Craft Imports.

Happy Fish

My card today could be a birthday, Father's Day, just because or thinking of you card. I left the inside blank to see which occasion I'll need it for.

I found these Post-it like tags/tabs at Meijer-on sale- and have been using them like mad lately. They are by K and Co for their Smash albums. Idk much about the Smash albums but I love how many of these tags you get in each package and for 40% off I was sold on them. For this card I used them as banners coming down the left side of my card.

I placed a Spellbinders die over it with a sentiment sticker by SRM Stickers and eyelets by Doodlebug Designs. The green paper is by Scrapworks. As for the rest of my card the patterned papers are by Basic Grey and Prima with cardstock by Scenic Route and an old company no longer in business. The image cardstock is watercolor paper by Strathmore. I stamped THIS Stamp N Plus fish stamp using Hero Arts ink and colored it in with Ranger Industry distress markers.

Thanks for looking.

Chalk Ah Lot challenge cards

Here are two cards today for the challenge at Chalk Ah Lot Cafe. I used the same embossing folder but was able to get to different looks. For the first card I painted the embossed area with powdered chalk colors Dandy the darker yellow and Sunshine the lighter yellow mixed with paint all by Stamp N Plus. The green stems and leaves colored powdered chalk is Lime and Mossy Green
Embossing folder by Darice
Ribbon by Offray
Blue paper by Scrapworks
Label by Stampin Up
Sticker sentiment by K and Co

For the second card I used the streaking property of the powdered chalk to create a shadow for each flower. I think I like the look of the gradual dark to light painting from this card and the blue skies from the card above. The sentiment stamp in this card is by Stamp N Plus and can be found HERE.
Patterned paper by Provo Craft
Label die by Spellbinders
Eyelet by Making Memories
Ink by Hero Arts
Yellow cardstock by Recollections
Epoxy stickers by Cloud 9

Manly Monday

With the coming new year lots of kids will be back to playing sports this fall. These cute little ball stamps by Stamp N Plus are perfect for a guy card, scrapbook layout or embellishment for that athlete in our lives. They are small but at a great price. Also, the star stamp can be found HERE

The pennants and circles were cut using Cricut's cartridge CTMH Art Philosophy. The star burst is an old Creative Memories punch that I found in my stash. I thought it fit perfect to complete my look of prize ribbons. I sprayed the pennants with glimmer mist to turn the off white cardstock slightly blue to match my patterned paper which is by Deja Views (striped) and Making Memories (polka dot).

The label die cut is by Spellbinders and brads by The Paper Studio. The brown cardstock is an oldie by Scrapworks.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

This week's Manly Monday I'm using stamps by Stamp N Plus. The die cut is by Spellbinders which I used distressing ink on while it was still in the die. The brown paper is old by Scrapworks. The water has been embellished with Glossy Accents by Ranger. The border punch is by Stampin Up.

Manly Monday

This week for Manly Monday I have a thank you card to share. My office was uprooted and moved to the basement. My BIL and husband put in cabinets, a counter top and peg board for my new studio. They did a fabulous job. Now I need to get settled in so I can create new stuff to post and submit. Yeah!

Patterned papers by DCWV, green paper by Scrap Works, label by Spellbinders, brads by Eyelet Outlet, stamp by Stamp N Plus, ink by Memento inks and sticker embellishments by EK Success.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I have the next 3 Manly Monday cards made and ready to post. Be sure to stop back next week for a new masculine card.

Celebrate

I made a fun any occasion card using up some old product and combining it with some new. The patterned paper is by Making Memories and the blue paper is by Scrap Works. The off white paper is by Sunborn. Die cuts by Spellbinders, border by Spellbinders and pearls by Want2scrap. The lacy sticker at the bottom is probably from the 90's and it's by Mrs Grossman's. The stamp and ink are by Close to my Heart. The key chipboard is by Tim Holtz and the flower chipboard is by Stampin Up. I painted them with silver paint by Plaid. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at what I have been working on.
