Guest Designer at TTCRD

Happy Tuesday to everyone. I was selected to be the guest designer at

They are a Tuesday weekly challenge of Anything Goes with a 2 entry limit. I love to see what crafters post on their blog.

For my project I made a standard 4x5.5 off white card. The fairy image is by

and I love that she could be used for any season. I love her in fall colors but in the spring she might make an appearance in pastels. For this card I printed her out on Strathmore watercolor paper and then colored/painted her in with Ranger distress inks and markers with a water pen. I love coloring images this way for something different then the Copic markers that I'm not really that good at:) After she was colored in and dry I fussy cut her out and adhered her to a Spellbinders die that had been inked with distress ink and using an ink blender.

The background paper is by Pink Paislee and the dry embossed piece of brown cardstock is by Bazzill. The embossing folder is by Darice. It's really too bad that all my card elements are over the embossing because it really is quite beautiful with a fall flourish and leaves.

The flowers and leaf are by Prima and the centers of the flowers are from my LSS. The flourishes are cut out using my Cricut and the Cricut Craft Room. These flourishes are for an upcoming card class I will be teaching and my Cricut doesn't cut the greatest on these tiny intricate shapes. The flourishes I used on this card were the poorly cut ones of the bunch that I cut and carved to embellish my card. I love to recycle:)

The sentiment is a stamp by K and i Memories/Hampton Art with ink by Stampin Up.

Thanks so much for dropping by and checking out my card. Be sure to join in at Through the Craft Room Door for Anything Goes sponsored by Fitztown.

Guest Designer at My Stamp Box

Exciting news to share today. I was asked to be guest designer at My Stamp Box. Check out all their wonderful stamp sets.

I used THIS stamp set.

I made a banner for my sister's wedding shower. Her colors are purple and yellow and so I made the pennants alternating colors. For each pennant I added a flower or two in the different shades of yellow and purple.

For this pennant I heat embossed the flower stamped image on vellum and cut it out. To give it a yellow appearance I colored the back with a Copic marker. Same thing for the leaf next to it.

I used the same embossing technique on the S pennant but with some shading in purple. You can get such a different look using your Copics.

For my next project I learned a technique from Jennifer McGuire that worked perfect with this stamp set. Check out the link for a video tutorial she made on this technique.

I stamped the back of the large flower stamp in white craft ink, heat set it; stamped the back of the smaller flower on top of the white in aqua; then stamped the front (normal way of the image) of the smaller stamp with white ink on top of  the aqua. That was a mouth full.
I masked the flower off and did the same thing with the leaves. It's a fun look.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to visit My Stamp Box to view my bio and come back next Tuesday, July 2 (what? it's July next week) to see my other projects using the same stamp set. You will like them.

I was sent some awesome images and I fell in love with this mouse one. So cute for a Mother's Day card. I colored it in with my Copic markers (I'm still learning this tricks to these markers. Just a beginner.) and then cut part of the image out. The pink die cut is by Spellbinders and the oval is by Cricut. The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The stamps for the sentiment are by Lawn Fawn and the Mom stickers are Sticko/EK Success.

I hope you will join in on the fun at Tammy's Scrapin Corner this week. Thanks for looking.
