Christmas Cards all Year Round-August challenge

Christmas Cards all year Round has a new challenge for the month of August and it is Fussy and Fancy.

For my card I did an Iris Folding technique with a THIS stamp from Stamp N Plus. I used the same patterned paper {by My Mind's Eye} for the iris folding and love the way it turned out. The stamp itself was stamped with Stampin Up in and then embellished with pearls from Want 2 Scrap. I used distress ink and an ink blender on the edges of the stamped image. It is matted with Real Red cardstock from Stampin Up.

For the card base is red and it is by DMD Inc.It's a 5x7 card , which is a new size for me, but I like it. The black cardstock is by Recollections and the patterned papers are by Basic Grey and Anna Griffins. I used a Spellbinders die to create the diamond border on the gold patterned paper and then embellished it again with pearls by Want 2 Scrap. The holly and sentiment rub-ons are by Bo Bunny.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the challenge at Christmas cards all Year Round.

Thinking of you

I have a thinking of you card to share today. All my cards so far this week have been landscape in orientation and so I decided to keep with the theme for the rest of the week.

For the background paper I once again stamped a background stamp onto patterned paper. This time I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The background stamp is an old one, Canvas, by Stampin Up. I actually love it and reach for it over and over again. You can make it out on the paper as small lines going up and down. I inked the edges of the background paper with Ranger Distress inks and an ink blending tool as well as the stamped sentiment. The die cut for the sentiment is cut out using my Cricut with a Hero Arts stamp and ink.

The flower image is a stamp from Stampin Up's Fabulous Florets stamp set. I stamped it onto watercolor paper and colored it in with distress markers. Then I die cut it out with Spellbinders dies along with the layered die cuts. The trim at the bottom is from my stash.

Thanks for looking.
