A Day to Celebrate
Today I have a birthday card to share. This time I used a smashed bottle cap from The Paper Studio as my focal point. It has been smashed down more than when I bought it so it will fit through the mail. Thanks to my hubby. I mounted the bottle cap onto two spellbinders die cuts and placed a K and Co sticker in the middle. I used Glossy Accents by Ranger to adhere the sticker. Then I cut out the banner by Stampin Up and stamped the sentiment by Hero Arts using their ink. On the base of the card I stamped a Heidi Grace border stamp using Hero Arts Shadow ink and then under that a Prickley Pear stamp using Stampin Up ink.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peak.

Flower Barrell with Chalk Background Card
There's a new challenge up at Chalk-Ah-Lot this week.
Challenge #30 is:
Use two colors of chalk to make your background.
The winner of each challenge is chosen by Random.org and will receive two free powder chalks by our generous sponsor Stamp N Plus maker of powdered chalk and rubber stamps.
For my card today I used a cosmetic sponge with some Buzz Magic paint and powdered chalk by Stamp N Plus colors Passion and Gold Nugget metallic. Mixing the three together on the wedge and swirling them around onto a piece of white cardstock gave a fun whimsical look to my card. The flower cart stamp by Stamp N Plus is number X1512 and can be found HERE. The Mother's Day sentiment stamp is M1483 and can be found HERE.
I used a border punch by Martha Stewart, die cuts from Cricut, ink by Stampin Up, patterned paper by K and Co, eyelet from my stash and ribbon by Offray.

Best Wishes for SNP
For my card this week at Stamp N Plus I used a sentiment stamp that can be found HERE (L1469-Best Wishes 2). I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts black ink.
The square do-dad in the center is something we made at a convention last May that I liked to much to use on the project they were suggesting. The two large squares are 2 5/8 and the eight small squares are 1 1/4. I cut the large squares using my paper trimmer and used a Creative Memories punch for the small. I inked the edges of all the squares with ink by Colorbox and the patterned paper is by The Paper Loft..
The background paper and tan paper are by Color-Aid and the cardstock used for the label is by Recollections. The label is a die from Spellbinders, embossing folder by Cuttlebug and the pearls are by Want2Scrap.

Lots of birthdays in February
There are a ton of birthdays on my side for February. I'm getting killed with the demand of bday cards-lol.
This card came together so nice and easily. I used an old die cut from Making Memories as my focal point, which I popped up using foam adhesive. The border stamp is from Heidi Grace for Colobok and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. I used Hero Arts shadow ink for the border and Stampin Up ink for the sentiment. I matted the stamped border with cardstock by Recollections that I used a scalloped edge on. Then I sewed down the center for added interest. Put it all together and this is what I got.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Best Wishes

Birthday card
I have a birthday card to share today. I tried doing the Velveteen technique with the background but found that the polka dots don't give the best look with the flowers stamps. The flower stamps are by Fiskars and Imaginisce. The patterned paper and sentiment are by The Paper Loft. The flowers are by Stamping and Scrapping, Petaloo and Recollections. The centers are stickers I bought at a dollar store. Thanks for looking.

Gateway fold Easter card
For my card today for the challenge at Chalk-Ah-Lot,
I chose to make a Double Z fold card. You can see the tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers HERE.
I chose to make a Double Z fold card. You can see the tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers HERE.
It is incredibly easy to make. I find that I don't usually make cards that have fancy folds but then when I do I'm amazed at how easy they are with such awesome results. I will be making another one of these cards for sure.
Here's what it looks like when it's closed up. I used some egg stamps by Stamp N Plus that you can find HERE. I used M1513 Tulip egg and L1505 Forget-me-not egg. I colored them in using powdered chalk and paint by Stamp N Plus. I combined the peach chalk with the color Passion for the flowers and the green is a combination of Mossy green and Cool green powdered chalk and paint. The sentiment stamp is from a set of greetings which includes labels that you could use to personalize your card or on your scrapbook pages. (Mom, Dad, Pastor, Uncle...). There is a picture of the stamps and details about it at the bottom of this post.
Here's what the card looks like with the closure off and card opened. It has panels of cardstock decorated with patterned paper ready for an inside greeting.
The tutorial noted above, uses ties a piece of ribbon in a bow and foam adhesive to keep the card closed. I couldn't find the right ribbon and my foam adhesive is MIA at the moment therefore I improvised and made a "belly band" out of cardstock to slide easily over the card keeping it closed when the band is on and open when the band is off.
The patterned paper is by K and Co, kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co, watercolor paper by Strathmore, pearls by Want2Scrap, ink by Hero Arts.
If you are interested in purchasing the set of greetings and labels from the Stamp N Plus company, please call 715-271-1873 to place your order with LuAnn. Please tell her that Cindy sent you.
Best wishes for a fabulous week.

Valentine's Day
Another Valentine's card to show you today.
So the heart and beads are super old, like from the 90's, which I found in my stash. There weren't enough beads to completely go around the heart so I used some beads by Queen and Co to finish the job. I love how it turned out. The die cuts under the heart are by Spellbinders. The white scalloped square has been spritzed with Glimmer Mist. The sentiment is comprised of letter stamps by Stampin Up and a sticker by EK Success.
The background of my card is a stamp by Hero Arts that I heat embossed with red embossing powder onto kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co. The I used Ranger distressing ink Fired Brick and a blending tool to bring in the color. Ink by Versa Mark and Stampin Up.
The finishing touch is the double ribbon (Offray and Stampin Up) with the Spellbinders die cut on top of them. I used floss to make the 'x' and an eyelet to make the 'o'.
I hope your Valentine's day is filled with love. Mine is going to the pain doctor-boo.
Thanks for looking.

Chalk ah lot challenge
I made this card for the challenge at Chalk-Ah-Lot and the theme is
Fancy folds with chalk.
I made a free standing pop up card. You can find a tutorial HERE at Splitcoast Stampers. I love the tutorials over there for unique cards and techniques.
I used gold metallic chalk by Stamp N Plus on the chipboard heart and also dusted the chalk on the pop up portion of the card. For the heart I covered it with a glue stick and then used a paint brush to apply the chalk. It's a rustic look but I thought it fit with the patterned paper. The sentiment stamp is by Stamp N Plus.
Patterned paper by Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye
Buttons and ribbon from my stash
Chipboard heart by Making Memories
Cardstock by Stampin Up

I Love You!
I decided to play with some color for this card. Not sure if I like it but it's good to step outside the norm and take a chance with color. Maybe if I would have used a little more aqua it would even things out more. Idk:)
The patterned paper is by Recollections and My Mind's Eye, sticker by Sticko, chipboard flourishes by Recollections, die cut by Spellbinders, people stamps by Autumn Leaves, heart chipboard by Making Memories, ink by Ranger Industries and cardstock by Coredinations and Recollections.

S.W.A.K
I just love this embossing folder-made by Provo Craft- that I borrowed from a friend. The man and woman stamp is a fave too. Funny thing about this card, my husband didn't know what SWAK stood for. I found that odd but I guess that's not something a guy would really care to know or remember.
I used cardstock by Bazzill and patterned paper by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment sticker is by Sticko which I matted to some brown cardstock. The patterned paper on the right side has been die cut with a border die by Spellbinders (center die cut by them too). I was able to emboss it too. Love when that works out. The ribbon is by Offray and the button from my stash.
Thanks for looking.

Christmas Cards all Year Round
This month at Christmas cards all year round the challenge is to use flowers and hearts with red and white.
For my first card I used a heart die cut by Quickutz and flower die cuts by Spellbinders. Patterned paper by Daisy D's. The flowers were dry embossed with a folder by The Paper Studio and Cuttlebug/ Provo Craft. The stamped sentiments are by Hero Arts with ink by Stampin Up.
The center of my flower is by Forever in Time with tiny brads around it. The brads are by The Paper Studio. Down the center of the card is red tulle from a friend. I like how it gives the card even more texture without the bulk.
My next card I used a smaller heart button for the center of my flower. I liked the way the gold matched the letters on the ribbon. I didn't have to stamp a sentiment when using this ribbon by Making Memories. The paper is also by Making Memories, flowers by Imaginisce (white) and Oriental Trading Co (red). The embossing folder is by Provo Craft/Cuttlebug.
Thanks for looking.
