Manly Monday Bike

Edited April 2021 see the sidebar for an explanation

My card today is for a younger guy perhaps. I stamped the bike (Unity Stamp Co) and the road (Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous) with black Hero Arts ink. Then I let dry because some times when you don't the black may bleed out when you add the distress inks. So I used Tumbled Glass blue distress ink on the top and Old Paper on the bottom. I cut the image out and matted it with black and then white cardstock both by Recollections. The patterned paper is also by Recollections. The arrow die is by Papertrey Ink and the spiky circles are by Sizzix. The sentiment sticker is by SRM Stickers and the blue paper is by Basic Grey.

Welcome back to Manly Monday. I have a couple of cards to share from other bloggers that made masculine cards. Click on the blog title to be directed to their card. Leave them some love too. Polly Wants 2nd Generation Stamping

So today I have two cards with the same image and likeliness. I colored the parrot with distress markers and sprayed it with water before I stamped it onto white cardstock. That would be the first card but the second card is when I sprayed the stamp again with water and stamped it down, without reapplying any color. 2nd generation stamping is a great way to stretch your stamps and your time.

The parrot stamp is by Stamp N Plus and I have stamped it onto white Recollections cardstock that has been die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.The other papers in both cards are by Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye and Tim Holtz. The bottom card do have orange ribbon that covers the seam in the center. That ribbon can be found at Michael's. I decided not to put a sentiment on these cards so I can either add to them when needed or to leave as blank cards to sell.

With Sympathy

I had to make a few sympathy cards recently. Those are never fun to make but I think they mean the most to people when they lose a loved one.

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge by Close to my Heart for the frame, the background rectangle, and the half scallop circles. I didn't really care for the green color I had cut them out with so I inked all three pieces with Peeled Paint distress ink and sprayed them with water mixed with gold Perfect Pearls. The tree stamp is by SU and I have stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I inked the image with Antique Linen, Peeled Paint, and Tea Dye distress inks. The patterned paper is old and unidentified but the sentiment stamp is by Gina Marie with white ink by SU. White card base is pre-made by Recollections.

Just a Perfect Day

I'm doing my final Flashback Friday image for Sassy Studio Designs today. This polka dot bikini Sassy will be at a lower cost then the regular digi's but only for one week. So hurry and get yours before the week is up.

I colored her in with Copic markers and fussy cut her out. The grey background paper is by Quick Quotes and the yellow patterned paper is by Crate Papers. There is a piece of yellow vellum over the patterned paper behind the body of Sassy but I'm not sure who it is by. The sun is a chipboad piece by Maya Road that I painted with yellow acrylic paint by Pebbles. I punched out a small circle out of Die Cuts with a View yellow glitter paper and adhered it behind the sun. The sentiment sticker is by Three Bugs in a Rug. I'm not sure about the wave stickers or the ribbon. They have both been in my stash for a long time.

Kitty Christmas

I was at a barn the other day with a friend that has a horse there. Also in the horse barn were barn kitties and I fell in love. I would have loved to take one home with me but my dog would probably eat it, says my husband. So no kitty for me except here on my blog. Do you have a cat and if so how old is it?

The stamp is by Delafield Stamp Company out of Delafield, Wisconsin. If you are interested in the stamp leave me a comment and I can give you the phone number on the stamp. I stamped it with Versa Color black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I colored the image in with distress inks and a water pen both by Ranger. I inked the edges of the image before matting it onto patterned paper by Martha Stewart. The music paper is by Penny Black and the green cardstock by Recollections. The sentiment sticker is by Hobby Lobby and the ribbon from my stash.

3 Month Star

I've been in a little rut and kinda down the last couple days. I don't know what it is all about but I need to shake it off and share with you this cutie. This is boy #3 of the five Groh boys {My husband's family} and I think he's adorbs at this age with his little flag.

The background cardstock is probably by Recollections but I wasn't happy with the way the layout was coming together with a plain background. I decided to pull out my stencils and choose a pattern that would go well with a star and with the little arrow die. This stencil by The Crafter's Workshop  was good because it wasn't too girly and it had uniformity to it. I inked the cardstock with Barn Door and Fired Brick red distress ink over the entire background. It took a bit of time to do the edges. The stencil are 12x12 in size and the pattern doesn't exceed the paper so you have to improvise by lining up the design on all edges and even in the corners too although I think it was worth it.

All the patterned paper is by Deja Views with speckled grey cardstock by Stampin Up and the brown cardstock by Coredinations. I die cut the arrow die by Papertrey Ink twice and was amazed at myself for getting really good placement on the second go through. That like never happens. The title is cut from my Cricut Alphalicous cartridge. I welded the letters together in Cricut Craft Room. The star is also a Cricut cut. The description for this free cut in CCR simply says"Stars". The date at the bottom uses stamps by Oriental Trading Co and white pigment ink by Stampin Up.

All Boy Layout

I made this layout using stamps by Lawn Fawn. The title alphabet and 1970 numbers are Claire's alphabet. The fish bone/arrow shaped stamps on both sides at the top are from the Interlocking Backdrops stamp set. All of the stamps are stamped with an orange ink by Close to My Heart, which I found out they don't make it anymore. That kinda irks me when you find an ink you like and then the company stops making it.

Anywho, I'm not sure who the maker of the background paper is but I do know the orange is by Colorbok. I die cut the title using my Cricut and the program Cricut Craft Room to weld the letter with the When I Was a Kid cartridge font.

Merry Christmas Photo Card Book 2012

Don't forget about the 6 year anniversary of my blog. Giveaway can be found
HERE

So today's layout is made possible from the sketches at Grand Divas and this is another layout for my Christmas card book. The base cardstock is by Recollections with patterned papers by Echo Park and Stampin Up. I cut the circle out with my Creative Memories cutting system and the gingerbread people stickers are by them as well. The letter stickers are Thickers by American Crafts and that is it.

Better with Age

This is such a fun stamp set by Fiskars. I was lucky enough to receive it from my niece last Christmas. The cardstock is by Color-Aid and the patterned paper is by Provo Craft. The wine glass is on a wood veneer that I painted with Ranger's gold paint. Then I stamped it with Hero Arts black ink. The brad is by Creative Imaginations.
That's all for this one.
Have a great rest of your weekend.

Blue Bathing Suit

Six year anniversary giveaway can be found

I'm back again for a Flashback Friday card for Sassy Studio Designs. I colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut her out. The blue background paper is photo paper that I applied Ranger's alcohol inks to. The cardstock piece in the back is unknown but the patterned paper is by K and Co.

I stamped the Fiskars sentiment onto a scrap of white cardstock with brown Stampin Up ink. The waves and the seashell at the bottom were cut out with my Circut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. The waves were white and I inked them blue and sprayed them with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. The shell at the bottom was cut out using the same Cricut cartridge out of Recollections cardstock.

Reindeer 2012

6 year anniversary giveaway can be found
HERE

Another layout to add to the Christmas card book. This is my aunt and her family in Utah with the aging parents in Michigan. So their Christmas card for 2012 was a little bigger then the average card but maybe it wasn't but it just feels like a lot with 6 photos on one card. I followed the sketch at
Sketch N Scrap
with some creative forgiveness because my layout it 8 1/2 x 11 and not 12x12. I didn't have the heart to cut the reindeer into two so I left a larger border on the photo then in the sketch. I think that paper is by Momenta, which is very old, the snowflake patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View, the light blue paper is by CGull and then the white and light brown cardstock are by Recollections with the dark brown by Coredinations.

I die cut the 2012 out with my Cricut and I layered it on top of a scrap of light brown paper and blue paper. The smallest snowflakes is a punch by Marvy, middle size is a punch by Creative Memories, and the largest is a die by Simon Says Stamp. The enamel dots are from my friend Ashly. She makes them isn't that cool. We swapped dots for sequins one time. I love how nice the crafting community is.

Deep Red Stamps City Girl in Blue

6 year anniversary giveaway can be found
HERE

My card today uses a Deep Red Stamp from the City Girls line. You can find the stamp at

Scrapbook.Com
or
A Cherry on Top

I stamped her with Memento Ink and colored her in with Copic markers. I die cut her out with a Sizzix die and inked the outer edges of the die cut. Then I die cut the next biggest size die out of patterned paper by Papertrey Ink.

The background is dry embossed vellum with vellum by The Paper Studio and embossing folder by Provo Craft. I used the same Papertrey ink paper along with some Creative Memories blue paper for the rectangle. Then I die cut the smaller oval out of a piece of blue fun foam and added the young lady to my card front. The card base is by Recollections.

I'm sorry for the two photos of exactly the same thing. I liked the first one because it showed the inking and the dry embossing well but the photo itself is a little dark. Then the second one is lighter but I lose the things I mentioned from the first photo.
