Manly Monday - Evening Edition

Here we go into our next week of Manly Monday guy cards. I know for sure I didn't get everyone in this week. If I had trouble locating your blog and need to further investigate than I will have to feature you next week.
I have a three images created by different crafters for a whole new perspective on what you can do with that image. I love to show these because it shows how versatile our stamps are, digi or regular.
One thing that stands out in all these cards is the nice simple style, excellent coordinating patterned papers and great images. You will be so impressed with the many manly cards this week.

Deb's Eternity Cards

I'm going to make this short so I can get this published for all to see. My image is by Kenny K, patterned papers by Basic Grey, cardstock by Bazzill and Coredinations, watercolor paper by Strathmore, die cuts by Spellbinders, metal arrow and brad by American Crafts and sticker by Sticko/EK Success. I colored the image in using Distress Markers by Ranger and a water pen.

Thinking of you

Chalk-Ah-Lot's fortnightly challenge Thinking of You with chalk continues on for one more week. I made another card for the challenge. 

My card uses THIS pumpkin stamp and THIS sentiment stamp both by Stamp N Plus.

I used powdered chalk mixed with paint to color in/paint in my focal image. You can find powdered chalks HERE.
The image was stamped with Hero Arts Black ink, colored and cut out. The white cardstock is by Recollections and all other by Bazzill. The square orange die cut is by Quickutz and the other die cuts are by Spellbinders. I pinched the circle out using a Creative Memories circle punch. The patterned paper in my card is by Basic Grey and MME. Other ink used in my card is by Ranger Industries and Close to my Heart.

Wood Background

My card today is made possible through 

I used THIS wood background stamp to create the background of my card. For this one I inked the inside of the stamp with Vintage Photo Distress ink and then worked my way out with a gradual lighter color. So the second color was Rusty Hinge and then on the outside I used Wild Honey. I then matted the stamped cardstock onto a piece of white cardstock that I had inked with the same Wild Honey color. 

I then had this bright orange Spellbinders scalloped circle to use. I covered most of it with the Vintage Photo distress ink as with an ink blender also by Ranger. The banner on the card is a die cut from Stampin Up that I inked the edges and placed an American Crafts sentiment sticker on. The flower is by The Paper Studio, glittery center is by Recollections, brown border sticker is by Creative Memories and ribbon is by American Crafts.

Boo! Halloween card with Mosaic Stamp

I have a Halloween card and small picture tutorial for you. My stamp was provided

You can purchase the Floral Mosaic stamp HERE from A Cherry on Top. It is such a versatile stamp and I'm sure you will see this one over and over again on my blog.

The patterned paper is by Bo Bunny and K and Co. The pumpkin and sentiment sticker are both by Bo Bunny and the ribbon is from my stash. I heat embossed the mosaic on Neenah solar white cardstock using ink by Versa Mark and embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. I inked the stamp with a distress marker from Ranger. 

I loved the color Dried Marigold to go with this patterned paper but don't have the it in a distress ink pad. I decided to try using the marker with my ink blender and some water with Perfect Pearls in it. 

Using the side of the felt tip marker I brushed color onto the ink blender.

I then sprayed the blender with the water mixture and rubs it on my matt.

From there I applied it onto my stamped image in a circular motion.

I made the edges darker then the center for added depth.

Anniversary

Really quick post tonight as I finish up the day and get ready for tomorrow. I did some masking for this card by using Inkadinkado masking paper across the middle section where the ribbon is. I used Cloud 9 border stamps to create the background paper with Ranger distress inks. The ribbon is from Michael's-curse you dollar bin! The oval is cut out with the Creative Memories cutting system. I used number stamps from Stampendous and letter stamps from Lawn Fawn.

Tickled pink

My card today features a stamp from,

which you can find HERE

It was stamped on Strathmore watercolor paper with Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I went over the image with Distress Stain by Ranger. The color I used Spun Sugar is not very dark and at the time I thought I wanted something darker to stand out against the kind of white-ish embossed image. So I fiddled with it adding different inks to the image with a blending tool and then spraying it down with water if I didn't like it. Get the heat gun out to make it dry and start something else. At one point I used Distress Markers on the flowers and you can see in the flowers where I added that color. All and all I used so many different colors that the surrounding paper was ugly so I cut it out and revealed this beautiful one of kind flower image. 

I adhered it, using foam adhesive, to a Spellbinders die cut I made using an upholstery samples as my "paper". I thought this particular sample looked like a basket and went perfectly with the flower stamp. The leaf looking die cut is from my Cricut using a scrap piece of cardstock.  

The cream cardstock, also a scrap I found, has been stamped with THIS border stamp also by Deep Red Stamps. I used the Antique Linen Distress ink to stamp a faint image off to the side. The patterned paper in the background is by My Mind's Eye and I dry embossed it with a Stampin Up/Sizzix embossing folder. The happy chipboard is by American Crafts and the brad holding it on there is by The Paper Studio.

Weren't those fabulous? I am so inspired and amazed by the crafty cards these ladies have created. A big thanks to all of them for allowing us to post links to them here.

For my card today I die cut 3 ties evenly spaced on Neenah Solar White cardstock on my Cricut {Ultimate Creative Series Sampler ~ Bonus 4 ~ Paper Dolls Dress Up}. You have to cut them at like 5" or 6" {or more~I can't quite remember the exact size I used}. I started by moving the blade down and over to the right so I would be able to cut this panel out for my card.  Cut your first tie then move your blade over 3-4 spaces and cut the next then repeat. After those cuts I cut the same tie but much bigger and in patterned paper by My Mind's Eye, DCWV and October Afternoon (from left to right)

There are a bunch of layers to the card starting at the white card base by Recollections. I then adhered a piece of aqua cardstock to the base which I cut smaller to leave a white edge border. Next we have a piece of white cardstock with the patterned paper ties adhered to it so to line up with the outlines in the next layer. I used foam adhesive on the white cardstock to give my plain card some fun dimension. I wrapped the braiding cord by Sulyn Industries around the raised cardstock. I ended up having to remove the cardstock from the other layers to add the tag and get the cord in place. Oh well, lesson learned. The stamps is by Hero Arts and the ink is by Close to my Heart.

Kind of plain and simply but according to my sources manly cards don't need to be all fancy with loaded embellishments or techniques. Just plain and simple is most effective.
