Happy Birthday Goose for Chalk Ah lot

Today is a new challenge over at Chalk-Ah-Lot and I have a fun masculine birthday card that I made for my brothers birthday next Friday. Now let's see if I get it out to him on time. I'm famous for being a card maker and either not sending cards on special occasions or being late. Hopefully I can do better at this in 2014.

The Canadian Goose stamp, powdered chalk and paint are by Stamp N Plus. The black cardstock is by Recollections and DCWV and the white cs is by Neenah. The watercolor paper is by Strathmore. The woodgrain embossing folder is by Darice on a light gray cs. The banner die cut is by Stampin Up with a American Crafts birthday sticker and the circle die cut is by Spellbinders.

I used chalk twice on my card. The first spot is on the strip of watercolor paper where I mixed Foggy powdered chalk with water and used the medium with bubble wrap to create the background. The second time I used chalk was on the main image, see below.

I usually use the powdered chalk mixed with paint to paint in my images. It's fun to mix the powdered chalk with paint but I always seem to have left overs and hate to waste it. Therefore when I'm finished with a color I take the remains and paint it onto white cardstock like you see below. Then I simply stamp over the powdered chalk with my Hero Arts black ink and have a fun image to add to my next card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
