Manly Monday Graduation paper clip Card

The patterned paper is by Karen Foster and the gold cardstock is by Sizzix. The embossing folder is by Darice. So what I did with this card was I put both the patterned paper and white cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. This way I wouldn’t have to try and line them up together. The white gel pen by Sakura. the golden paper clip is unknown.

I don’t like top-folding cards. I’ve handed out a lot of Christmas cards to the elderly and when they were given a card they would try to open it as a side-folded card.

The other thing that I dislike with top folding cards is they don’t seem to stand upright, no matter what the thickness is of the cardstock. When you try to display them I find they do the splits.

So I put the paper clip in that spot so that they had to take it off and then they would lift it up. I made this card for the Craft Roulettee show on Friday nights.

The parameters were:

Project: A window, mine is the frame.

Colors: Bird colors, red, yellow, blue in the patterned paper.

Element: On the pond, the ripples around the word water ripples.

Random:Paper clip

Thanks for looking.

UPDATE:

I changed it.

Manly Monday Let’s Play Poker cards

The background paper is by Karen Foster. I die cut the hands from two different poker Cricut image sets. The simplest one is from an Old West image set. I had to put black and red cardstock behind the appropriate playing cards. The coin embellishment is from Me and My Big Ideas.

The other card has a more elaborate looking poker hand and it can be found in Cricut Design Space Father’s Day image set. I added a blue and read border sticker by Creative Memories only the width of the patterned paper and a second one below it spanning the entire card width. I needed a sentiment and so I found a sticker sentiment in my stash. I put it in between the two border stickers with a sticker dot in between the two words.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day.

April Calendar Layout Brian and bowling.

Confession, I totally cut myself out of the picture. My face was spread out because of the way that I was standing and leaning forward on my bag. You can see me. My arm is in a blue shirt on the right side.

Anyway, the bowling patterned paper is by Karen Foster. The other patterned paper is the Harley Davidson paper by EK Success. I liked the flames in the paper because they matched the blue bowling shirts. The title is a sticker by Stickibilities. The side border is made up of bowling ball stickers by Scrappin Sports and More, SMR Stickers, and someone else. I’ll have to look into it. Thanks for looking and listening.

My husband took the picture of my brother because he is drinking coffee out of an Old Kent Bank cup at a bowling alley around the corner from the house we grew up  My Mom worked for OKB for 30+ years.

It hasn’t been called OKB in over 20 years. So for them to have the coffee cup with the bank’s logo on it was enough for my husband to take a picture of my brother with the cup he stole from the bowling alley for sentimental reasons. LOL.

Manly Monday Let’s Bowl, Let’s Bowl, Let’s Rock n Roll

I sang that song ^^^over and over again while I was making this card,

This is the front of the card. The orange patterned paper is by Imagination Project. The black patterned paper and bowling shirt sticker is by Karen foster designs. The black, patterned paper was a long strip, and I was being lazy. So instead of cutting it to the size of the card I made the card the size according to the height of both patterned paper scraps.

This is the back of the card. You can see where the black patterned paper is making its way to the inside of the card. I made the bowling lane using a ruler, a pencil and distress ink.

Then this is the inside of the card. Tada. The End. Oh no. There’s more…

That arrow, that’s where the goods are stashed. My friend’s son is turning 11 and we tend to give people money denominations same as their age. Soooo, Behind door number one is…

$11. He will like it. And he won’t care that it’s only eleven dollars.
He will be grateful for any denomination of money that he receives.

Thanks for looking.

Hooked Born to Fish Calendar Layout

The calendar layouts are finally done and were sent out with only 2 hiccups. My nephew moved and BIL came into town. I paid for postage on both. Oh well.
The die-cuts are actually Creative Memories punches squares and circles. Stickers by Karen Foster. The fish brad inside the squares is by Around the Block. The fish-patterned paper is by Accord Publishing and I’m not sure about that background paper but from what you can see of it, it’s perfect for a guy-type layout.

Congratulations Graduate Card

2020 Graduates were so shafted. No spring break, no prom, no walking across the stage, no all night party. Nothing and it still breaks my heart.
Anyway, I did send some kids cards with money in them. Here is one of the cards.

The Congratulations is computer generated and the graduate is a sticker from The Paper Studio
The patterned paper is by Karen Foster
The diploma is a Jolee's sticker
I found the black and gold paper in my scraps.

St. Patrick's Day Layouts

I used shamrock stamp by SNP (no longer in business)
Inside each shamrock, I stamped Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps letter with the month and year.
The graduation paper is by Karen Foster.
I sewed around the edges of the paper and created a pocket for the commencement program and a few other things.

The shamrock was the mascot of the East Detroit High School.
This was their newspaper and my MIL was news editor.
Again I made a pocket by sewing the edges. I
laminated the article and then that's her senior picture.

Cricut Graduation card

I had a difficult time getting the layers to line up. So this is what I did:
I said screw it.
I'm not getting a headache from stressing out on making this card "perfect".
With that, I threw away or vacuumed up any tiny layers
I added this pretty gold glitter paper behind the letters and the tassel too.
I have come to hate glitter. It gets everywhere and you find it lingering on as something really annoying like mosquitos. Mosquitos suck your blood and move on whereas glitter is found in totes, clothes, countertops, carpets, rugs, in my hair and the dog's hair. Oh yes. The poor boy dog had glitter in HIS hair a week after using glitter. So...
I love this glitter cardstock from Michael's. It's the kind where the glitter stays on the paper.
Moving on.
I colored the rest of the cap with a black Copic marker. I don't love this part of the card but I have to get over it.
I adhered the white layer on top of the blue.

I stood back and thought, that's pretty. I may not want to give it away because sadly, the recipient will be more interested in what’s inside the card, than the card.
I like the way it turned out.

Positive Thinking Day Lantern Cards

I really like how these cards turned out and I think the first one goes well with
Positive Thinking Day
I cut out two different sized circles with the Creative Memories cutting system out of Inkadinkado masking paper.
The die cut is by Spellbinders. It has been in my stash forever. It was one of those times that I cut out other people's dies and with no idea what I'd use it for or with
The stars aligned and the stamp set and die-cuts came together :)
Ink is Distress ink-Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans, and yellow is Squeezed Lemonade.
Black ink is Hero Arts. I love how dark and sharp it is.
I set a Making Memories eyelet for the hole on top and used Karen Foster floss as the hanging component.

Die Cuts with a View patterned paper. Sizzix corner die-cuts
Stampibilities sentiment stamp
Yellow distress ink. Hero Arts black ink

The stamp set is unknown but looks like this.

Manly Monday Golf games

I've been working on Type 1 diabetes silent auction donations. Gift cards/certificates needed to be displayed at the event and I remembered there were a bunch of frames from my mom's house.

I put the tickets in a frame with cardstock and then made a sign to better tell what was in the frame. The signs were then taped onto the back of the frame. Do this project gave me a chance to get rid of things like frames and golf paper.

The first picture originally had white letter stickers and they all fell off. So I die cut these new ones using my Quickutz. It was fun to blow the dust off of it.

For some reason I thought the sign that had lost the stickers was this one below and so I made a new one and ended up with....

this!!!
Two signs with the same places and not the sign I needed. Ugh!

Graduation Hippo Cards

I have two graduation cards for today that are a little different but you have to try new and different things to see what works and what you like. The hippo stamp is by Fiskars and is colored in with Copic markers. I die cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink. The bckground cardstock is dry embossed with a Cuttlebug. The sentiment stamp is by Clearly Besotted. The grad cap is a Jolee's sticker.

The stamps are from the same stamps set. This embossing folder is by Darice and the twill on the top and bottom are by Karen Foster.
