Wednesday's Christmas card

Sorry this is late. I had a horrible doctors appointment and in deep depression slept the rest of the day away. I'm so tired of these arrogant doctors that are rude to me. "I'm as nice as I know how to be and they treat me like a bastard at a family reunion." Dolly Parton says that in 9 to 5 and that's exactly how I felt after this doctors appointments. Anyway here is my card:

PP by KCo; punch by EK; stickles by RI; die cut by SB. That's all I have for you today. See you tomorrow with another Christmas card.
Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but it's been 13 months of my life that has just ......sucked. And when I told that doctor my quality of life is crap he said that's not his fault. OK, true but what can you do to help me improve and he said heat or ice may help but probably not. Come on! Big sigh* Another darn doctor that doesn't give a crap. Great! I should have stayed where I was, at least he tried to shut me up with medication. I could write a book about this junk that we call the last year of my life. Idk...
Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Manly Monday

I am a little concerned about this one for Manly Monday but I want you all to know I tried hard to make this one  for a dude but my husband is sleeping so I can't ask him.
I made the card base out of green CS, used an embossing folder by Quickutz, patterned paper by Making Memories, stamp embossed by Clear Dollar Stamps and this is what I came up with:

So because I wasn't able to ask the hubby about this weeks post I am including another Christmas card that I made that might get his approval as well.

Either way have a happy Monday and I hope you will join in over at Christmas Cards all Year Round challenge of Anything goes Christmas cards. All you need to do is five Christmas cards and link them up for your chance at a great prize. Stop by the BLOG and see what it's all about.

I Did it Creations Challenge

This week at I Did It Creations the theme is Christmas....could you see that coming since I've posted Christmas cards the last two days. I think I will post Christmas cards until the Christmas cards July challenge at Christmas cards all year Round comes out on July 1st.

Well then, I better get on with this and get to work. My cards' image and also sponsor of this week is by Robyn's Fetish. Check out her site for a great variety of digital images and papers at affordable prices. I must say I do love to make Christmas cards and if you want me to make yours for 2011, right now is the time to reserve me to do so. Email (Serious inquiries only) me at grohcm@gmail.com.

So here is my card that I used my aqua pen from Stampin' Up and Ranger Industries Distressing inks along with a spritz of Perfect Pearls and water to color the image in. The white cardstock is by The Paper Co/ANW Crestwood and the rest of the paper is by DCWV. It's hard to tell by the photo but the green and pink paper have a glimmer to them. The ribbon is by American Crafts; sentiment stamp by Elle's Studio and ink by Tsukineko.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out one of my Christmas cards. I will be featuring a Christmas card from now until Friday, July 1st.

As a reminder you still have a few days left at Christmas Cards all year Round to enter your five cards for a chance to win a fabulous prize. There aren't many people linked up with five cards so I would take an hour this week and wipe up five cards, blog them and link them to CCAYR blog. See HERE for the link. It's better to get them done now while you can still enjoy the process rather than later (November) when life is crazy busy and the process turns into a hassle.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Hazelnut(Sa#26)-Anything goes Christmas
Crafty Ann's challenge(F#43)-Christmas in June
Creative Craft World (W)-Christmas in June
Dream Valley Challenges(SU#10)-Ribbon

See you tomorrow for Manly Monday Christmas style:)

I forgot to tell you

My card was chosen as Guest designer at Aud sentiments. Please stop by there and check it out. The challenge this week is food or drink and it's not to late for you to join in on the fun with a wonderful prize from Robyn's Fetish.

Peace card

I have to show you this card I made and again it is a Christmas card. I have included the steps of the card making process for me and took pictures along the way.
These are the some of the products I used to make the card.

This next picture is the pennant I used to make my shape.

And this is the shape I made by stamping them back to back with the Pumice Stone distressing ink. I then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. I did take an aqua pen and sharpened the edges of the stamp by placing the ink pad on an acrylic block I was able to make the edges a little bit darker, more crisp if you will.

These next two are my close up shots (still a work in progress on taking close up pictures) of the Spellbinders die heat embossed with the stamp Peace and then covered with Glossy Accents.

This next picture shows the two together without Stickles on the edges of the shape.

And this next photo is a completed card that includes a stamp by American Crafts that is heat embossed using Versa Mark ink and SP embossing powder. Punch by Fiskars; felt ribbon by OTCol; grey paper coated with Perfect Pearls and water mixture, card base by RE, Peace stamp by The Paper Co and stickles on the edges of the shape too.

Thanks for checking out my blog today.
Be sure to come back tomorrow for the I Did it Creations challenge. This weeks Retro challenge only has 7 people entered so far so get out your things and make a card today. I know that kids and teenagers alike love peace signs and wear them all the time. They would love to get a peace birthday card. Here's your chance to make one.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Friday's Clearsnap project

Hey everyone,
You should head over to the Clearsnap blog for your chance to win amazing prizes from them. I wanted to show you a card I made using their products. It's a Christmas card and I know you are probably thinking it's too early for that but I have to start early or it doesn't get done the way I want it to.
For this project I dry embossed a piece of Echo Park's Merry Christmas paper with my Cuttlebug and one of their folders. Then I took the Clearsnap ink and went over each embossed piece of the embossed pattern with the ink. I love the way it turned out. Their new line of Smooch Inks are super fun and can be found at the link provided or at Michael's (I saw them at the store but can't find them online to give you a link). Before I adhered all my embellishments, I sprayed the card base with a new Smooch color for 2011 called Green Olive and then an older one called Vanilla Simmer.

Other supplies include: felt border by OTCo; sentiment by EP and card base by RE.
This next picture is a "close up" of the Smooch Ink. My close up shots are a work in progress. My camera and I need to practice at it more. But you get the idea. Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations cards

I made a few more congratulations cards to post on Flickr for the Gallery Idol contest through Paper Crafts magazine.
This first one has PP by Stampin' Up; CS by TPCo and TPS; Chipboard by AC; Stamps by Hero Arts; ink by Colorbox by Clearsnap and RI distressing inks; scallop punch by EK Success; Perfect Pearls and water spray on border; Card base by RE.

This next card I used a template from OTCo in order to sew the swirl onto white CS by TPCo whom makes the rest of the CS on this card including the card base; PP is by SU; the transparency is by K and i (It is very old and was intended for a Christmas project); brads and floss are UK; stamp by TPCo with ink by SU; single pink flower sticker is by Pebbles Inc; border punch is sprayed with Perfect Pearls and water by Ranger Industries; rhinestones are unknown but attached by the Imaginisce IRock; pink border is by Studio 112 which is part of K and Co. I have intended this to be a bridal shower card because of the pretty in pink glow it has to it.

Thanks for stopping by. Come back tomorrow for some more inspiration.
Thanks,
Cindy

I made this simple Christmas card and felt it needed something. By using Clearsnaps inks on the poinsettia and around the word Peace this card turned from OK to Wow. I love the results of the inks (the bottles look like liquid mascara to me). They come in a variety of colors. I got the three different packs with four in each. You just have to get some. I love their Smooch Spritz as well and will be posting a card tomorrow using it.

The word Peace (stamp by The Paper Co) is heat embossed with white embossing powder by Stampendous and ink by Versa Mark; poinsettia paper is by K and Co and striped paper by Creative Memories; cardstock is from Hobby Lobby and I used Perffect Pearls and water to give the card a glimmer.  Thanks for looking.

Tuesday Post Christmas in June

I have a lovely Christmas card to share with you for the challenge at Christmas Stampin. I don't think I have ever done one with them before and was inspired to try their challenge of black, white and one other color. This is what I came up with:

I'm not sure who the black and fuzzy white paper is by as it was a gift from another scrapper that hated the fuzzy white where I rather liked it. The green paper is by K & Co; brad is unknown; rhinestones are by Queen and Co; sentiment by TPCo; ink by VM; embossing powder by SP; ribbon by Offray; card base by The Paper Co. Thanks for looking and have a great Tuesday.

Retro Digi Image with masculine cards

This week at I Did It Creations The challenge is to create something RETRO. We were given the images by Digi's with an Attitude who is sponsoring us this week. Here is my card:

I used patterned paper by Die Cuts With View and Colorbok; cardstock is by The Paper Co; embossing folder by Cuttlebug; flower stamps by Recollections and sentiment stamp by Unity Stamp Co; Stickles by Ranger Industries; embossing powder by Stampendous; die cuts by Spellbinders; ribbon by MI; colored in with Copic markers.

Also wanted to wish all fathers out there a Happy Father's Day by showing some more of my Father's Day cards.

This first one has the retro feel to it as well as my card above. Don't you think?

The Cuttlebug folder for this one is musical notes/sheet music. with the patterned paper by K and Co.

The next one is another beer cap card but they really like them at the store where I sell them at. The background stamp is by HA and I embossed it with blue embossing powder but you can't really tell on the card itself. The street sign is a foam stamp using Making Memories paint.
I'm entering this card (below) into the Cards for Men challenge of Black and blue male card.

This one is just nice, plain, and simple with the green and diamond plate embossing folder.

Some more green to go with the Heineken beer cap with the dad stickers from Sticko by EK.

Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow's Manly Monday will be the end of the long series of  Happy Father's Day cards. I'm probably going to show more than 6 cards that I haven't posted yet. So be sure to stop by and check it out for some male card inspiration.

Father's Day Continues

Well it is with great sorrow that I have to announce Shannon's Sentiments will be closing her doors. So I will no longer have a specific Saturday post each week. I really loved her work too but she has a family to tend to and I wish her all the best. I also want to thank her for the wonderful opportunity to work with her fabulous designs. I am sure you will still see her sentiments on my work but they will no longer be for sale. *tear*

So continuing on with the Father's day cards galore.
For this card I heat embossed the stars and then colored them in with a few shades of red in my Copic marker collection. I then very carefully colored grey in the middle of the star. When you color with Copics on an embossed image you are suppose to use clear embossing powder so that marker doesn't draw the color from the embossing powder onto its nib. This fun little Champion sticker is from Around the block in a gamer set. I'm entering this card into the Papertake weekly challenge(TU) of Dads and Lads
PartyTime Tuesday (#20)-Father's Day card
Shopping Our stash(TU)-Stamps, stars, stickers,Spellbinders, Stampendous embossing powder and stripes
Sweet stamps blog(TU)-embossing
The Stamping Boutique(#8TU)-For men only

This sticker is by Bo Bunny and stamps are by AC and two of Lawn Fawns alphabets.

This one is a little out of the box for me but I love it anyway. The polka dot paper is by Pebbles and the circle stamps by HA, coffee cup by Clear Dollar Stamps, thanks by AC and Dad by LF. The corregated cardboard reminded me of the thing that Starbucks puts around your hot coffee containers so not to burn your hand while holding your coffee. What do you think?

Check back tomorrow for the new I Did It Creations Challenge and a few more Father's Day cards.

Lily pad card

I made this card for the Lily Pad challenge of making a card with ribbon on it. I hope twill counts as ribbon. I enhanced the ribbon/twill by spraying it with two shades of Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels. Doing so made it match my pink paper better and gave an extra sparkle to the card.
Here is the before and after shot of the ribbon/twill and then  my card.

Patterned paper is by Echo Park, which I added some rhinestones to the centers of some of the flowers using my IRock by Imaginisce. The ribbon/twill is by Karen Foster; stamps by Hero Arts; ink by SU, VM and CTMH; pink paper is by CM; embossing powder by Stampendous and card base by Recollections.
Thanks for looking.

Father's Day galore

I had made a large amount of Father's Day cards to sell at the local scrapbook store and of coarse took pictures of them all. So I am going to be showing you these cards from today through to Manly Monday. Guy cards can be so difficult to make that I hope these cards will inspire you when you sit down and make your own. I'm not going to list the supplies for these posts but am more than glad to answer any questions you may have. Just leave a question in the comments and I will get back to you.

This image is recycled from an older card I had waiting to be used.

For this card I used pop up adhesive on the negative of a circle cut out. This way the Dad circle and blue circle sit down into the brown paper. Just a different dimension that isn't girlie.

Below, I colored the tag in with my Copic markers. The tag is a digital stamp.
I am still a beginner with the Copic markers that doesn't practice enough. Do you color with Copic markers? What would you say is your level? If you have a blog filled with Copic marker creations, leave me your blog addy in the comments so I can come drool over your stuff.

That's it for today come back for more tomorrow:)

Girlie layouts

With all the Manly Monday, Father's Day cards and graduation cards I felt my blog needed a girlie touch to it. So the best way to make things girlie is show you some of the layouts I did for a graduating senior who has been in dance since she was little. The book covered her whole dance life from 1997 to 2011. It was very fun to do and she LOVED it. I just love being able to add sparkle, rhinestones and glitter to layouts about dance.

This is her and her friends at recital. The bottom portion I used a bunch of silhouette circle punches as masks for the glimmer mist. Such sweet girls these three truly are.

I just adore this one because I had an idea and it came out the way I wanted to.  Oh to be a little girl in dance class again.

This dance was her solo for this year. I went and watched her compete with this number and talk about a class act! The dance fit her beautifully and was not trashy at all. (I say that because her mom and I discussed before she even started the dance that the song is or could be taken poorly for the lack of a better word) I just loved watching her and felt the choreography was well done and executed perfectly. Who cares what place she got.  This dance really rocked.

Well that's it for girlie layouts for the next few days. Tomorrow through Monday I will be featuring the rest of my Father's Day cards. I hope you will use them as inspiration for your male cards. They always seem to be a little tougher to make then girl cards.

A happy Birthday to my sister Jennifer for today is her special day:)

More Graduation cards

More graduation cards to share. I hope you like them.
I think the sentiment is from CTMH. It's one of those times that I borrowed someones stamps at a crop and stamped a bunch of them to use later. I should have thought to write the company on the back of the image but my brain wasn't thinking like that back then. I think she was a CTMH rep. At any rate, I like the way this one turned out.

I used Glossy Accents on the cap, which is a sticker from REM

This one actually has a glimmer to the bottom portion but doesn't show up well in the photo.

This one is a gift card holder. I like the way on the sides of the card the stamp (black) looks like a road and how it wraps into graduating is following a new road into life. Don't you love how the only gift card I had around here is from Michael's? I should use that at the new Michael's when we go there today. It's suppose to be bigger and better than our old one. I have a couple of coupons to use. I would like to get a new border punch. Mine are boring me at the moment. I feel like I have used them a million times. Anyway....

There is so much product in these cards that if you have a question about something please leave me a comment and I will get back to you on it.
Happy Wednesday:)

Graduation cards

Here is another group of graduation cards that I made.

Sorry I don't know much about this card in the way of supplies. Here's what I do know: background paper by K & Co; strip of orange and tan paper by Simple Stories; ink by Ranger industries. That's about it.

Supplies: Sentiment by Shannon's Sentiments; PP by Best Creations; ribbon by AC; embossing powder by Stampendous and ink by Versa Mark.

Supplies: Banner by Echo Park; stamp by Clear Dollar Stamp Co, The Paper Co, Hero Arts and Fiskars; Ink by RI and Memento; Ribbon by SU; Strip of paper on top of ribbon by Simple Stories; brads by CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by today. More to show tomorrow. I'm actually going to do pre-posts so not to mislead you.
