Featured card at IDIC

Hi all. I was asked to be guest designer over at Creative Inspirations on this fine day. Some how that fell thru so the card I made is being featured today 1-27-11 at I Did It Creations. You should go to the site to see the call in which they have posted right now. Anyway-We were asked to use a Robyn's Fetish image with the theme of bows and buttons. How fun is that!! Here is what I came up with using the puppy paws image I made it into a Thank you card. I thought the sentiment was fitting for a dog image.  I know my dog always wants a pat on the back. The bow in this card is so ancient, it was a pure joy to use up something so old. Then as I wondered about my things I found this heart shaped button. Where did that come from God only knows. I found four total so you know those bad boys are going on Valentine cards. For any questions on the other products just leave me a question in the comments field and I will be glad to look it up for you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Oh and here's my card.

Shannon's Sentiments DT Challenge

Another Saturday rolls in and that means it's time for another DT challenge at Shannon's Sentiments. This weeks challenge is to do a scrapbook page. For us scrabookers turned cardmakers this is no problem but for you die hard cardmakers this may pose a challenge for you. We would love to see what you come up with. Here's mine using the banner set Shout out. I inked the edges with a Stampin Up square  and then colored the red in with the Copic markers. After everything dried I applied Glossy Accents to the outside edge of each banner to give it some dimension.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Shannon's store for quality digi's at great prices along with 2 pages worth of freebies.
Also don't forget there is a Design Team call going on right now. Shannon is looking for a few good workers to help keep things moving along. If you think this sounds like something you would be interested in be sure to check out the design team call and apply today before it's too late.

Blue Thanks card

The best part about this card is that almost everything on it is over a year old. I am really working hard to clean out the scrapbook room. You wouldn't be able to tell that by the way it looks right now but that's just because I have been busy working in it. Any questions on supplies hit me up in comments:) Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous Friday and upcoming weekend.
This card qualifies for the following challenges:
Digi Doodles-Anything goes
Penny's Challenge-Anything Goes
A spoonful of sugar-blue and green
Let's Ink it Up-Anything Goes

Sketched Thank you card

I did this card using a sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp. I pretty much stayed to the sketch. Must have been a low mojo day. hehe
Sketch 113
The green checked paper is recycled from an old card and the other paper is really old from Creative Memories. I love that I am getting rid of older stuff making way for new stuff.  Thanks for looking.

Calendar Layout 14 Years of Marriage

I made this Layout using a sketch from Sketches in Thyme. That is my husband and me at a wedding reception in 2010. The layout is for my mom's calendar that I am still making her. Thank God she is a patient woman.
The brads in the little squares are for weddings. One is a wedding cake and the others are wine glasses/goblets. I wet embossed the heart, which is a Digi stamp from Shannon's Sentiments, with silver embossing powder, then used distressing ink by Ranger on the edges and finished it off with a couple spritz of water and Perfect Pearls. The spellbinders die are label #1. I love this die and use it a lot. I'm also using this layout for the challenge at the I Did it Creations Forum which is to use borders. It is hard to see in the photo but I used an old Creative Memories sticker border just above the brown paper. If you haven't been over to their forum it's a great place to earn points that lead to discounts toward the Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium. So go check it out or ask me questions in the comments field and I'll get you going in the right direction.
Thanks for looking.

Lawn Fawn challenge

I found Lawn fawn's challenging blog and was so geeked about it I had to give it a try. I won the Lawn Fawn stamps thru (I think) Cards for Kids. Well they are the cutest little things and the quality of the actual stamps is very high. I use the Harold ABC's all the time because they are the perfect font for any occasion and are always the perfect size for what I need be it a card or a scrapbook page. So the challenge for Lawn fawn was to case one of Kelly Marie's cards. I'm not able to pull the card over to my blog like I normally am so HERE is the link to her card and then here is the card I made using her card as my inspiration. The only thing you must do is use your Lawn Fawn stamps for the challenge. Well yeah! Who wouldn't want to:)

Well the next part of this card is the striped patterned paper is by JLJ Designs. Here is a LINK to this paper pack that she sells. You will see the others awesome papers on my blog these next couple of weeks because the colors are so perfect for Valentines day and for another something I am working on. She was kind enough to donate 6-8 digital papers for my St Jude cards. Be sure to see the right side bar for the link on information on how you can get involved and send in cards for these ill children. With just a little fuss you can brighten a child's day. That's all for now. I will have a layout to share in a few hours. Hope you are sleeping well.
Best wishes
Cindy
This card also goes for the following challenges:
Lawn Fawn Challenge- Casing
My time to craft-spots and dots
Tuesday Throwdown-Valentine
Tip top Tuesday-Sentiment on the front
My tip for this card is using old products and making them new again. I'm trying to use up what I have and doing so you need to be creative or inventive. For this card the circle paper is from Provo Craft's Bitty scrap pads. They may still sell them but I know my mom and I bought all of them many years ago. I took the paper and used the Cricut to cut a circle . I then used Regal Rose pink by Stampin up with a cosmetic wedge and in a circular motion covered the entire circle. After that I used Tim Holtz distressing ink Walnut Stain along the outside of the circle using one of his blending tools to accent the edge of the circle more. I used a small Stampin Up heart stamp in the Regal Rose color but would stamp it off first and then stamp it on my circle. I used this same technique with a clear heart stamp that I don't know where it came from. And that is how my old paper became what it is today:)

Valentine cards

I made these two Valentine cards for the I Did It Creations Forum. The first card is for the second challenge in January, which I am hosting, from January 15th -31st. You earn points per challenge you do and points lead to discounts towards the Women's Outlaw Emporium store. A store full of scrappy supplies at low discount prices already and then with a bigger discount for doing the challenges, how can you go wrong? Click on the words/links to check out both the forum and the store for further details. The second card I did was for non digi stamp day which was Jan 14th but you have one week to get your valentine card done and posted. Here is another way to earn points for a better discount.

I have been a really bad blogger this month and I'm not sure what my problem is. Well I do have a couple of theories and one of those is, it takes up a lot of my time. So I'm going to try this, to make it less time consuming and get me posting everyday like I use to. I'm going to skip the supplies lists unless it is something new or special. If you see anything and you want to know what it is or where it is from please don't hesitate to ask in the comment field. I really don't mind doing that for such loyal followers. I just want to try this and see if it does save me some time.
I'd like to take this chance and thank you for all your kind comments. I do have one quick story to tell, which may be another reason for my low number of blog posts this past month. From November through January I applied for multiple (I don't want to say how many- it's embarrassing) manufacturer DT and didn't make a single one. Sad, frustrated, doubtful of my skills and mad (all the signs of grieving). But as I talked to a young lady (teenager) the other day she gave me inspiration. She wanted to be the Sugar plum fairy in the Nutcracker and was totally bummed when she got the part of...... I can't remember what they are called....they are the ones that wear the tiniest little outfits, have the most athletic shaped bodies for those little costumes, they are the most flexible- bending in unnatural ways...I think they are the Arabians, it's usually three girls and a boy. One of the girl dancers' is the star, dancing with the boy and the others are like the backup dancers. (they are amazing too) So she said she gave herself a week to pout about it and then that was it. She was going to  the best Arabian gumby, flexible dancer this side of the state has ever seen. No more I'm a diva and deserve to be the lead. This is the part God gave me and I am going to do it my very best.
So I decided that's what I needed to do too. Stop being a Diva and start putting my all into what teams I was on because those teams are a blessing and I should never forget that. So this is me being thankful that I have design teams that want me on them. Thank you to them:)
With that said I have assignments to get ready for this weekend and I need to  finish my mom's calendar.  I want to put it into the mail for her tomorrow and I'm only to July. eek! I keep working on Valentines for St Jude's (see side bar), which is a good thing too. I have more time to work on those cards then I do the calendar. January is over half way over.
Thanks for listening to my story.

My top card goes for the following challenges:
Mark's finest papers- hearts
Phindy's Place-Valentines
Stamp something-with a rubber stamp
Sassy Studio designs-Use products over a year old (the date on the heart stamp is 1998)
Bunny Zoe's crafts-Love

I Did it Creations Challenge #38 w/ addendum

***EDITED This post  has been edited to inform you that once you have done this challenge and posted it to the IDIC blog, go over to the IDIC SNR (Scrapbook news and reviews) Group and post your creation there as well. Doing so will win you a free digi stamp, one that we will be using for a few challenges over at the SNR group. There will be chances to win other digi images and scrappy stuff to add to your collection. You don' want to miss out on this.

Challenge time at I Did It Creations challenge blog. This week due to the cold outside the theme is blue for Brrrrr it'a cold. We are sponsored by Ellephantastic and were given a few images to choose from. I thought the bear was perfect for a baby card and then my baby boy card was born.
I used my Stampin Up aqua pen with Ranger inks to color this image in and give it that soft look. The word Beary is from a stamp has many other words on it that I masked off to get the one word I wanted. The cuddly sticker I believe is by Creative Imaginations and the last sticker (baby) I'm not sure. I didn't save the packaging at that time in my scrapping life. The paper and vellum behind the image are by Creative Memories; ink is by Ranger. I'm trying very hard to use up some old supplies that I have had around forever. It's like I buy new stuff just to look at it and not actually use it. Well that has to end. My room is already over flowing and my husband has threatened to kick my craft room down into the basement. So I'm trying to avoid that by using my supplies. OK this is way too wordy. I must be tired. Have a great day all. Things to do with I Did it Creations:
IDIC Forum -where we are having our 2nd non digi stamp week right now
IDIC at SNR - be on the look out for chances at freebie's
Outlaw Woman's Emporium - Shopping at the best prices around
IDIC Challenge blog - New every Sunday with a winner with prizes weekly
where we feature our DT creations on Sunday and we do it all on Wednesdays.

I Did it Creations Challenge #37

Welcome to another wonderful Sunday which means another challenge from I Did It Creations challenge Blog. This weeks challenge, which was my idea, is to use vellum in your project. We were sponsored by Stitchy Stamps and I choose this cross stamp for a sympathy card. My card stash is getting low and I need to build it back up. Be sure to play along with us and then come over to the IDIC Forum and post your photo there to win points towards discounts in the Outlaw Store. With already low prices an added discount would sweeten the sale.  You could be chosen as card of the week earning you more points for a better discount. Also you could join us at the  IDIC SNR group and post your project there. The more action that group brings in the more freebies I will be willing to give out. So stop by the SNR group and get in on some fun and freebies. It would be great if you'd leave a comment so I know there are people out there. On to my card:

Supplies: Cardbase by Bo Bunny; white cardstock by Recollections; vellum by Creative Memories; all other paper by American Crafts; Stamp by Stampin Up; embossing powder is unknown; ink by Ranger, Stampin Up and Versamark; Square punch by Creative Memories. I used my aqua pen (by SU) and ink to color the image in. I think it gives it a softer look, which is needed with this kind of card.
I hope you had a great weekend full of creating masterpieces.

I'm also using this card for the challenge at The Studio.

This card is also a lovely example of recycling old cards. The sentiment on this card, the green check cs around the card and the inside are all from a former card, thanks to my mother who decided to do a little pre snowbird cleaning. Thanks, Mom!! Supplies: white cardstock and card base by Recollections; red cardstock by Stampin Up; Copic markers to color it in; cherry stamp on red cs by Studio G; ink by SU; ribbon by American Crafts.

I Did It Creations Challenge #36

This weeks I Did It Creations challenge is your favorite technique challenge. We were sponsored by Glitterbabe where we were given four images to chose from and I think I am the only one that choose the bowling images. Dare to be different I guess. I used many techniques on this card that I find myself using over and over again:
  • Fussy cutting
  • Using a Ranger blending tool to buff the sides of the card, digi stamps and paper
  • Using stickers (word Strike)
  • Stamping (my sentiment which on the inside says the boys name that turned 10)

Supplies: Patterned paper by Karen Foster and GinX; sticker by SRM; ink by Ranger and Memento; Stamps by Lawn Fawn; ribbon is unknown.
Be sure to go check out the I Did It Creation Forum for challenges in which you win prizes and points for discounts to be used on scrappy supplies at the Woman's Outlaw Emporium which has Cuttlebug Embossing folders (143 to chose from) on sale this week until January 7th. Thanks for stopping by.
