Joy Christmas Card

I made a Christmas card using THIS iris folding stamp by Stamp N Plus. I used an old patterned paper for the bell and then used a Wink of Stella gold pen for the bottom of the bell. The top was colored in with Distress Markers by Ranger. The Joy sentiment is a Cricut die cut and the Merry Christmas sentiment is a rub on by American Crafts.  The patterned paper on the left side of the card is by Echo Park.

Dance headpieces

Today we head off to our niece's 1st dance recital. Her costume is adorable and she loves it. I just hope she wants to continue to dance year after year. If so I will continue to work to pay for it.

My friend owns a dance studio on the other side of town and I had the privilege to make some headpieces for her. For this first one I die cut the sequin fabric that were suppose to be wrist bands with a Sizzix flower die through my Cuttlebug. I also cut some white tulle to go in between. I wish I could take credit for the design but it was her design that I adapted to my tools on hand. Once the pieces were all cut out I hot glued them onto a piece of felt and onto a hair clip.

This second one was a flat bow and I poofed it out by placing tissue paper in between the layers and sprayed it with starch. I then took a strap from an old costume and wrapped it around the middle. Big and poofy now!

This last one was for a teen jazz class. They got a piece of fabric with their costume, at the bottom of the picture where the fabric and ribbon flow downward it's the one to the right. I took some ribbon that matched and a piece of sparkly fabric and braided the three together. Then I glued it onto a clip but not perfectly straight to give it more dimension. I left the fabric and ribbon at the bottom only because I didn't have good quality fabric sheers to cut them off. I left that for her.

Well hopefully my directions/words aren't too confusing and you've been inspired by the dance headpieces.

I have new cards for this weekend up until Wednesday. Please come back.

Oriental Thank You Card

I thought I would try a sketch with an oriental themed card. The background patterned paper is by Crate Paper. The lantern is a Cricut die cut that I sprayed the off white layer with glimmer mist by Tattered Angels. The Spellbinders die cut has been inked while it was still in the die with Ranger Distress Ink. I stamped the Thank you characters onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with Simon Says Stamp red ink. The stamp is by Stampendous. I punched the characters out using a square punch and then inked the squares with Rangers Distress Inks.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Memories Layout

I'm making a book for a graduating senior, boy, which is due in June. Endless hours of time have been put into these books-1 turned into 3 to keep the books under two inches thick. I think anymore then that and it's too much to take in and the books get worn down so easily. Michael's had a sale and I thought it was the best route to go.

For today's layout I used the color combo Blue-Green-Yellow from the challenge at Mark's Finest Papers. I did stamp the names that appear next to the appropriate picture. The placement of the photos was a very scientific formula of hide the shapes that were already cut out of the paper. The polka dot paper is by Rusty something-they are no longer in business-just had a thought Rusty Pickle maybe. The blue cardstock is by Doodlebug and the white is the paper in the pages before you add your layouts. Yeah I'm thrifty like that-I was going to say cheap but thrifty or using the paper is part of my green effort towards the world. *grin*.

The rest of the cardstock that I used n the die cut is by Recollections. The die cut is cut out using the Cricut however I don't remember the cartridge. Sorry. I stamped the kids' names with a Lawn Fawn alphabet set and black ink by Hero Arts.

Thanks for looking.

Celebrate With Style

A celebrate with style birthday card using Gina Marie Rose Garden Embossing folder on the coral cardstock. I took one of those finger sponges with some distress ink to the center of the roses and onto the leaves of the embossed area. Then I sprayed the cardstock with water and Perfect Pearls. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp with Colorbox ink on a Spellbinders die. The blue dots in the ends of the die cut are rhinestones from a dance teacher friend. She gives me her leftovers after the year and that costume are done performing. I used a strip of Bo Bunny patterned paper on the side and layered a piece of the fancy ribbon by Websters on top of it.

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.

The sentiment stamp by Fiskars is stamped in Hero Arts black and matted onto black cardstock. Both black and white cardstock throughout the card is by Recollections. I embellished the card with Jolee's sparkle flowers with a pearl in the center of each one.

myStamp Box Tag

My project for the myStamp Box blog is a tag using the Abundant Blossoms stamp set.
I did a bunch of different things for this tag. The hexagon background is a stencil by Crafters Workshop with translucent embossing paste by Dreamweaver's on top of it. I used a mask (hexagon punch by Stampin Up and masking paper by Stampendous) in the center where the flower is but then changed my mind about the flower. I applied distress inks to the hexagons and then wiped away the excess.

The stem of the flower is from the same stamp set and I heat embossed it on top of the embossing paste. The green embossing powder is by Stampendous. The rhinestone leaves are by Studio G. The flower is stamped once in the masked area and then again on similar color cardstock as the tag. I fussy cut it out and applied it over the other stamped image with foam adhesive. Then I added Stickles to the center lines of the flower. To finish the ribbon on top is by Stampin Up and the flower from Joann's.

Thanks for looking.

Cancer Free Bag

Just wanted to share a bag I made for Relay for Life in Sparta, MI. I used a Cloud 9 house stamp in grey Stampin Up ink and under it is a grass stamp by Stamp N Plus in Hero Arts green ink. The patterned paper on the bottom is by DCWV. I used Ranger distress ink Broken China for the sky with an ink blending tool. The sun is a Spellbinders die cut with a Stamp N Plus sun stamp in the center. That yellow cardstock is also by Recollections. The letter stickers are by Lawn Fawn with Hero Arts black ink.

The stamp on the back is unknown since I can't find it at the moment but the ink is by Colorbox.

Deep Red Coffee Stamp

I have a new card using a Coffee stamp that can be found at A Cherry On Top and is by...

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto white cardstock. Then I used distress inks and an ink blender to give the sentiment color. I matted that piece onto black Recollections cardstock. Then the patterned paper is something I won from Simon Says Stamp so I'm not sure of the manufacturer. It covers the top half of the card and the bottom half is white cardstock. I covered the seam with seam binding which is very old from my MIL's stock that I acquired. I wrapped twine/cording around the seam binding to tie in the black cardstock. Then the coffee cup at the bottom is a Cricut die cut out of Bazzill cardstock that I inked the edges.

Thanks so much for looking.

Deep Red Stamps For You

I made this new card with a Flourish with Leaves stamp by Deep Red Stamps that can be found at
and

I stamped the flourish with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Stamp N Plus gold embossing powder. I love this color because it's a soft gold color that looks beautiful with so many different color combos. I tilted the image because I'm not quite sure which way it's suppose to stand in order to be upright. The cardstock the image is on is by Bazzill and the black behind it is by Recollections. The background patterned paper is by Bazzill which I feel like its a you love it or you hate it kind of pattern.

The sentiment is a Doodlebug sticker on K and Co paper matted onto black cardstock again by Recollections. The sparkly butterfly in the right upper corner is by Martha Stewart.

Manly Monday

This Manly Monday is just a card from me. I didn't get around to blogs last week to ask people for their cards. Things have been very busy lately that I just don't have time like I use to. Although I think there is a light at the end of my tunnel and I will continue to believe that more time will become available in the near future.

For today I used Metal Mesh Stamp found at A Cherry on Top by

to create my background. I heat embossed it on blue cardstock with clear embossing powder. I used Versa Mark ink and Stamp N Plus embossing powder. I do love this stamp for guy cards.

The guitar is cut by my friends Cricut. I'm not sure the cartridge or the patterned paper. It was in her scraps bin and I snagged it. The green cardstock is by Bo Bunny which I have attached with Making Memories eyelets. The sentiment is computer generated which I think is fitting for a graduate but will probably use this one for the last week of May. I like to refer to it as Birthday-O-Rama! We have a birthday sometimes 2 and an anniversary in just that one week. Out of all of them there is only 1 female birthday. Oh snap!

Anyway, Hopefully I will be able to spot some awesome guy cards to share with you next week and as always-Thank you for looking.
