Our Father Card

This card is a little bit smaller than I normally make. The background stamp is by Hero Arts stamped with red ink. Image by Robin’s Fetish was printed onto watercolor paper and colored in with distress ink and water. I matted the image onto grey paper and adhered it to the card front.

Manly Monday Deep Red Stamps Military Miss You Card

Our nephew is in the Air Force and will be deployed this summer. I hope to send this card to him while he's overseas. It's a scary thing to have a loved one halfway across the world and to always be worried about his safety.

My Deep Red Stamp called Band of soldiers stamp seemed a perfect fit for this card. The blue cardstock background is dry embossed with a star folder by Darice. The sentiment is an SRM sticker on a blue punched cardstock. The circle border is made up of circles that may have been inked with distress ink and sprayed with a Perfect Pearls water mixture. The papers are by Sunborn and Recollections.

Triple the card for my Cousin Marcia

I made this card for my cousin when she bought a new house, got married and it was her birthday. Three sides of the card base are covered and I wrote my message on the back.

This was the outside of the card. The window die cut is by Spellbinders out of old packaging, patterned paper by K and Co. chandelier stamp by Lawn Fawn, sentiment stamp by Just Rite Stamps and ink by Hero Arts.

Then you open the card and the wedding card is on the left and birthday on the right. For the wedding card: Wedding bells stamp by Embossing Arts Co. from 1993. I think this was my first stamp. Heat embossed with silver embossing powder, die cut by Spellbinders, distress ink inside and Stickles on the bells. The patterned paper is by Making Memories, sentiment stamp by Stampendous and ribbon by Imaginisce.

The birthday card: I repurposed this card because after I stopped selling my cards I found that I had too many Mother's Day cards. This card was easy to take apart and by removing the bulky flower it enabled me to do the triple folding I wanted to do.

Embroidery floss Thank you card

My card today has a full border and a simple sentiment to balance it out. The patterned paper is by Provo Craft. I added Stickle dots to the pattern. The ribbon is by Offray. I swirled the embroidery floss into this design and glued it on top of the ribbon and paper. The white brads are placed around the floss for extra support. The chipboard flowers are by American Crafts with brads in the center of each one. The brads are by Making Memories. The sentiment is a Cricut die cut.

Recycled Scrapbook Border for Birthday cards

I used this border on a scrapbook page or maybe it was a calendar that I ended up taking apart. The border is patterned paper by EchoPark that is adhered to orangish cardstock by Sunborn. The off white cardstock bases have been sprayed with a few different colors of Glimmer Mist. The sentiments are Spellbinders die cuts. I added the K and Co butterfly sticker to the top card and rhinestones by Want 2 Scrap on the bottom card.

Coffee Birthday Cards

I inked the white cardstock with distress ink. The left edge and the right corners are cut with scalloped scissors with black cardstock underneath. The purple cardstock is by Recollections and has been dry embossed with Cuttlebug folder. The pink die cut by Cricut and paper is by Sunborn. The coffee is a sticker by Forever in Time and the smoke coming out from the top is a Lawn Fawn stamp (Love you a Latte) that was stamped and then inked. The small heart die cuts are by Lawn Fawn too. Lacy tape is from Dollar Tree.

This second card uses the same coffee sticker on a pre-made card base. The circle die cut is by Spellbinders and the sentiment by Cricut.

Here's another card using a different coffee cup sticker from the same pack.

Manly Monday Reminds me of a Shirt Pattern

My Mom’s boyfriend suddenly passed away back in July 2017 and since then everyone’s life has dramatically changed.
This patterned paper came from her stash and it so reminds me of Bob, her boyfriend. It sounds so silly to refer to him as a boyfriend since they were both in their 70’s.

Layering Happy Birthday card

This card has many layers to it so here we go. All of the square die cuts including the label are by Spellbinders. The sentiment stamp and its ink are by Hero Arts. The background cardstock is by Coredinations/Tim Holtz and the sheer ribbon was a scrap.

The flower, if you would call it that, is a Sizzix stamp and die combo. I stamped it with pigment ink by Colorbox, let it dry and die cut it out with the matching die. I put the flower on foam squares before adding it to the rectangle. I'm impressed with how nicely the die cut came out. Usually, my stamp/die combos take a bunch of tries to get them aligned.

The blue frame square was made previously, that's code for a really long time ago, and I kept it because there was a chunk of this background piece that was still a good size to use on a later project. Now why I kept the negative of this square die cut will never be known but to my advantage today the colors worked out well. The watercolor paper by Ranger was covered with powdered chalk mixed with water and an iridescent white paint all of which were by Stamp N Plus, a company I worked for but is no longer in business.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at this long post for just one little card.

Secretaries Day Just for You Card

I made this tag in 2014  and if you look at this post you can see I removed the Miss You sentiment. I don't send many Miss You type cards but I liked the tag. So I offed the sentiment label and used the tag for a Secretaries Day card. It worked well because the tag has dimension and the card is square. Perfect qualities for a hand delivered card rather than one that goes through the mail.

My new sentiment is by Lawn Fawn and is on dahlia die cut by Spellbinders. The purple background cardstock is by Coordinations and was dry embossed. Then I ran an emery board over the embossing to reveal the white like core of the paper.

A Few Pink Whimsy Birthday Cards

I made this card using circle stamps from a Close to my Heart stamp set and leftover Cricut die cuts. The sentiment is a stamp set I bought from eBay. The word enjoy is backed with Stampin Up patterned paper.

This one uses more of those Cricut die cuts along with some Lawn Fawn hearts and stars. The sentiment is by Forever in Time.

This card, the white background was made with the negative of a Gina Marie stencil with embossing paste and is backed with Stampin Up patterned paper. The label die cut is by Sizzix (PP by MM). The sentiment is a stamp set I bought from eBay.

Here is the other card using this stenciled background. I still have the original mixed media project sitting in my "to be finished pile" along with another negative background to be made into a card. Someday. Right?

Butterfly Best Wishes card

I bought this stamp off of Etsy many years ago and I found this paper with it already stamped with black ink and colored in with colored pencils. Then I fussy cut the image. The polka dot paper is a Project Life Card. The grid paper is by Elle’s Studio. The sentiment is by Stamp N Plus. I punched out a few squares and then cut them in half to make corners.

I was playing one day and made some backgrounds and then used what I had already cut out or stamped up.

Lawn Fawn Thank Ewe card

The rectangle die cuts are by Spellbinders and the sentiment by Cricut. The stamp is by Lawn Fawn as well as the heart die cut . The image was heat embossed in silver (Hero Arts) and then I stamped the red heart in after the heat embossing. I cut the image out and adhered it to the die cuts. The patterned paper. is by K and Co-I think.

Deep Red stamps Beach Day Card

I used the Deep Red stamps Beach chair stamp.
I stamped it onto watercolor paper and colored it in with distress ink. I created a sunray by masking with a Post-it note. The background paper is by Creative Memories and the purple paper is by Sunborn. The sentiment stamp, Just for you, is by Forever in Time. The Beach Day was cut out using my Cricut from the When I was a Kid cartridge size 1 1/4. This card was made for a secretary at Paul's school for Secretaries Day.

Anniversary Cards

Thankfully, I still need anniversary cards and these two cards were so similar that I put them into one post.

Starting with the background, I sprayed Glimmer Mist onto a stencil by Heidi Swapp and then inked the edges with distress ink. The glitter paper is by Recollections, the black die cut is an oldie from Die Cuts with a View and the red heart is a Cricut die cut stamped with a Cloud 9 sentiment with red Simon Says Stamp ink. I think Cloud 9 is a company within Fiskars.

For this next card: I created this background of hearts using the negative of a Cricut cut that I inked with distress ink. The heart die cut is from eBay out of Forever in Time pink cardstock. The square die cuts look inked. The pink paper on the left is by Studio G and the sentiment stamp is by TPC Studios with Stampin Up ink.

I feel like the word sentiment Love is a darker ink than the Best Wishes sentiment. The first is by Simon Says Stamp and the second by Stampin Up. I think it’s time to replace my SU ink pads because the pads are uneven so refilling them has become pointless. I’ve had some of these ink pads for over 10 years. They’ve had a good life. Lol.

Next card is a simpler card. The background paper is by Cosmo Cricket, butterfly border by Cricut, sentiment stamp may be by Recollections and the ink is by Ranger.

Fin-tastic Birthday Card

My card for today was published in the Just Cards magazine in 2016. The mermaid stamp is by Inkadinkado. I heat embossed her in white and colored her in with distress inks and a water pen. Then I die cut her out with a Spellbinders die and placed a Want2Scrap rhinestone frame around her. The patterned paper is by Little Yellow Bicycle- I think. Purple cardstock is by Die Cuts with a View and the sentiment by Lawn Fawn.

Recycled Shaker Christmas card

I love to recycle things and put them on my cards. The shaker element is a To and From tag that I found in my mom's belongings. The red decorative tape is from Dollar Tree. The heart dies from Cricut and Lawn Fawn.

I have another recycled Christmas card using a junk mail paper. I layered it onto cardstock and added Stickles.

I just noticed that these cards do not contain any stamping. Wow, that's a new thing for me.

Heartfelt wishes Card

I made this card with a die I bought from eBay. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts with pink SU ink. The card is cut where the pink cardstock ends to give it a different look. although it's not very practical because you can't stand the card up very well.

Deep Red Stamps Thinking of You

Hi. I stamped the tree scene onto brown cardstock which makes it hard to see but when you have it in your hands it's not as bad as the picture. The stamp is by Deep Red Stamps called.
Nature’s Borders.
The patterned paper is by Studio Calico and My Mind's Eye. I die cut a Spellbinders square and inked the inside before stamping the Stampin' Up sentiment with Hero Arts black ink.
