Embossing Paste Seashell Wreath cards

My cards today are stencils by Dreamweaver Stencils. I added white embossing paste to them. After it dried I inked the edges with distress ink. They both use K and Co patterned paper and they have a decorative edge.

This first card uses a Spellbinders square die with a Couture Creations die on top of it.

The second card I cut it out with a Spellbinders circle die and then embossed it using the squishy pad. While it was still in the die I inked the inside with distress ink. I added some definition to the seashells using a couple of watercolor markers. The die cut under the seashells is an old wallpaper sample. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Just a Note glow in the dark card

Today’s card is SOooo fun. I started by applying glow paste by Tim Holtz onto a stencil by Couture Creations. The brads are by Making Memories. The label is by Recollections. The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug.
Check out the paper that the sentiment was cut out of. It looks a little different. I went to the recycle bin and pulled out a piece of white cardstock. It’d been die cut, but didn’t cut all the way through. I die cut the sentiment out of a piece of paper. Hence, why there are cut lines on the sentiment die cut.
Lastly, I tried to ink the edges of the paper, but the paste is gritty and wouldn’t take ink. I must be doing something wrong.anyway. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Busy Bees with Silver Embossing Paste, honeycomb stencil background

I went digging inside the drawer and look what I found, this embossing paste honeycomb background.
This stencil by is Tim Holtz and I applied Dreamweaver Stencil's silver embossing paste. Then the bee stamp is by Stampin Up. Its original stamp is the one in the center that has words coming out of his butt. I stamped the bee in yellow and cut off the sentiment.
The hexagon punch is by Stampin Up.
The center embellishment is stacking hexagons pointing up and down. Thank you for looking.

Queen Bee Hexagon Stencil with Embossing Paste Cards

I used a Hero Arts background stamp for the tree on the left. The branch off of that is a branch off of a Memory Box die. The beehive is a piece of fabric that my Mom cut out and put bondage on the back and then I ironed it onto a square die cut by, my guess is Bo Bunny with a layer behind it. The honeycomb background is a stencil by Tim Holtz. I used regular white embossing paste. The color came from my mat. It was a mixture of inks that I had already used on my mat. I usually do a lot of backgrounds using embossing paste at the same time. So you will see the same paste used in some other bee cards The sentiment is a sticker. Thanks for looking.

Embossing paste Christmas Tree cards

I hated the bottom of the second card so I cut off the silver twine and removed the brad.

This last picture shows two of the cards side by side. They use the same embossing stencil and embossing paste and look how they look unique in their own way. The card on the left was previously posted. I will try and find the link.
This is a brass stencil with embossing paste by Dreamweaver Stencils. Thanks for looking

Time for Cake-Mimi's Work photos Double Page Scrapbook Layout

The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The stickers are unknown. The chipboard is by Prima (I'm almost finished with this package of chipboard. Sounds silly but it is an accomplishment. The pen is a Dreamweaver stencil that I inked the design with distress pads and then added translucent embossing paste over that. The arrows were cut out of my Cricut. I hate writing on layouts but there's no room for a typed-up explanation. As well as, Idk what the occasion was for these pictures but they were "professional" type photos. Here are my thoughts, maybe there was a teacher that was into photography and took these pictures. But, again IDK, and Mimi is so gone that she can't tell us.

I do not love these layouts but I still want to document them on my blog.

Christmas Tree Embossing paste card

The brass tree stencil is by Lasting Impressions, Circa 1997. I used Dreamweaver Stencils embossing paste and Perfect Pearls. The tape ripped the cardstock when I pulled the stencil up. It was too pretty to toss, so I kept it, and tada. It made it onto a card. The ribbon is by Michael's and Oriental Trading Company. The die-cut is by Spellbinders. The patterned paper is by Martha Stewart

This is the inside of the card.

Hello with Green Embossing Paste card

I have been hoarding these backgrounds.
Why? Two reasons: there's a lot of work that goes into using embossing paste with stencils.
The other reason is that the background has flaws.
The sentiment stamp is from an eBay purchase. The fabric tag die-cut in the center is by Making Memories. The background was made using a stencil with translucent embossing paste with green FX powder added to the mix. All three of these things are by Dreamweaver Stencils. The corners are precut Creative Memories cardstock from a very long time ago.

You can see here the worst part, where I went under the stencil. There are other places too, but I wasn’t going to trash it. It has the touch factor. What’s that, you ask? It’s when the person touches the card because it looks interesting.

Swirling Hot Air Balloon using Embossing Paste Card

Today’s card is a touch factor card. Those blue dots make you want to touch them and look at them more closely.

The hot air balloon stamp is by Prickly Pear Stamps. I colored it in with Copic markers and then fussy cut it out.
The sentiment stamp is unknown.

The background was made with a metal stencil and white embossing paste mixed with blue fx powder. All three of these things are by Dreamweaver Stencils

The back-background was made with distress ink.
I made this grass by turning the distress tool and getting ink from the side of the tool.

Pool Pictures in Arizona 2011 Scrapbook Layout

I wanted to do a more creative layout that used some mixed media for my nephew's scrapbook because the layouts were all looking the same. Spice it up a little bit.

So, I used embossing paste and a stencil for the waves at the bottom. See my reaction below the photos.

The stencil is by The Crafters Workshop.
Embossing paste by Dreamweaver Stencils.
The colored powder, called Fx Metalic powder was used to make the paste green and blue.

The alphabet stamps are by Close to my Heart.

The vellum sentiment on the net is from Creative Memories.

The Cricut cuts:
>Large volleyball net
>Arizona
>Shorts (draw and cut)
and
>Goggles

The patterned paper is by Colorbok

Here's the background that I made. I hate it. I didn't use the powder correctly.
It's ugly but I used it because of all the time and effort I put into it.

To lessen the ugly background, I covered it with some die cuts. I love the die-cuts because they are so cute and appropriate but that made the layout too busy.

Here's the other side of the pool layout. It doesn't match at all and maybe that plays a part in why I dislike the pool page.
Some of the patterned paper is by Stampin Up.
The fireplace in the corner is a stamp (?) that I colored in with colored pencils.

I have to include my quote,

"It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be done"

3 of my favorite Christmas Cards from this year

These are three totally different cards but I like them more than the others I made this year.

This stamp by Close to my Heart is not that long. You have to line it up and stamp it twice. The problem is, the stamp is stained and it’s hard to see. Sometimes it takes a few tries.

Anyway, I colored them in with some random markers on my desk. The let it snow is ribbon from the dollar store or the dollar bucket at Michael’s. The green paper is from Stampin’ Up! They make such pretty paper.

This next card, the patterned paper is by K and Co. the sentiment is by Hero Arts

Older crafters probably have a few of those metal stencils in their stash. I think that someone showed me how you can use one of them with a stylus.

About 5 years ago I was introduced to embossing paste but I haven’t practiced in a while. One day I sat down with embossing paste and stencils and practiced. The last ones I made were my best.

I found this tag in my stash from that day and wanted to make it stand out. So I heavily inked just the outsides of the tag to make the tree to be the first thing your eyes see.

I stapled a piece of ribbon from my husband's Oma with Tim Holtz Attacher

And this last card,
This is an old Stampin Up Christmas tree stamp. Stamped in olive and I trimmed it closer to size. The die-cut behind the tree is unknown but I do know the paper is by Fancy Pants.
I punched out 2 squares of the silver paper by CM. They don't sell it anymore, Ugh!
Then I cut the squares in half to put on the corners. The star is a button with embroidery tread tangled inside of it.
