Life's a Beach with a little up cycling
Here is a lovely beach scene card. The palm trees were cut out using my Cricut and the lm Life’s a Beach cartridge. The rest of card is made with recycled store-bought cards.
Well, the Cricut card is just the palm trees and the white frame around it. (Just like in the book on the bottom row middle picture. I cut off of the back of the card so it was a single piece.)
I needed something to go behind the palm trees and then I found this beach card and it was the perfect size to fit behind the frame.
Crazy how things on my table find each other.
Thanks for looking.

Lighthouse Card
I really like today's card. It took awhile to achieve the look but I think it was worth the time. I made it as a birthday card for a friend who loves lighthouses.
I stamped the lighthouse with Hero Arts black ink. I inked and stamped the light rays with two different colors of distress ink. I made a mask of the lighthouse with Inkadinkado masking paper and covered the the lighthouse with it. I took about five pieces of the same masking paper and tore them to create an uneven edge for each piece. I also covered the light rays with a piece of typing paper before adding the blue and brown colors.
Then I inked with a light hand with blue and brown distress ink using an ink blending tool by Ranger. I used different torn masks each time to create this water and sand. I added some yellow ink within the light rays with the same color ink as I stamped them with. I uncovered the mask on the lighthouse and colored it in with Stampin Up watercolor pencils. I took a water pen by Ranger and smoothed out the lines the pencils leave and added the seagull die cut on the left which is a Cricut cut from Life's a Beach cartridge.

Swimming Layout
A new layout today uses a kit by Queen and Co but I added a few things to it. The two tags, one with a bikini and the other with swim trunks, were cut with my Cricut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. I set a splash eyelets to each of them. I also added labels of who each kid is by using an alphabet stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I also added some circle stickers by Sticko/EK Success.
The other side of the layout was basically done with added touches such as the Cricut cut date. I think it is the cartridge Cricut Basic Font and shapes. The circle is stamped with a Close to my Heart stamp with Colorbox pigment ink. Then the center of the circle is a splash eyelet same as the left side. I also added the same Sticko/EK Success circle stickers to the bottom because there was originally these large, bulky rhinestone butterflies that I had to replace with flat stickers. Everything else is by Queen and Co.

Blue Bathing Suit
Six year anniversary giveaway can be found
I'm back again for a Flashback Friday card for Sassy Studio Designs. I colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut her out. The blue background paper is photo paper that I applied Ranger's alcohol inks to. The cardstock piece in the back is unknown but the patterned paper is by K and Co.
I stamped the Fiskars sentiment onto a scrap of white cardstock with brown Stampin Up ink. The waves and the seashell at the bottom were cut out with my Circut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. The waves were white and I inked them blue and sprayed them with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. The shell at the bottom was cut out using the same Cricut cartridge out of Recollections cardstock.

Syrena Best Wishes Card
I really love this card for a couple of reasons; First the upper background is made with Ranger's alcohol inks; second the image by Sassy Studio Designs colored beautifully with Copic markers; third, I cut the waves out with my Cricut and the bottom layer has fun foam behind it which I also cut out with my Cricut .
The rest of the card goes like this; background paper by Basic Grey, sand paper by Creative Memories; cardstock by Recollections and Neenah Solar white; fun foam by Good Old Values;waves cut out with Life's a Beach cartridge, sentiment stamp by Fiskars with Stampin Up ink; and the frame stamp and die cut for the sentiment are both by Clearly Besotted.

If you like Pina Colada.....
I'm posting for the design team at Sassy Studio Designs. This month on the Facebook Sassy group the freebie is called Pina Colada. I printed the image out onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers. I die cut the image with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink. I felt the bathing suit would be awesome with some Stickles by Ranger. Who doesn't love a sparkly bathing suit? The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is cut out from my Cricut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. The patterned paper for the sentiment is unknown. The ribbon is by Webster's and the pearls by Forever in Time.

Mermaid Card
Today's card is kind of fun a beach themed. The mermaid stamp is by Inkadinkado and I have inked it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with platinum embossing powder by Ranger Industries. Then I brought in some Smooch Ink by Clearsnap to color the image in. I cut her out into a square and matted her on to the scallop square die cut by Spellbinders with Quick Quotes patterned paper. I also die cut a piece of blue fun foam with the same scallop square die cut to give it some dimension. The sort of background paper is by K and Co, the helm is die cut from my Cricut and Life's a Beach cartridge and finally the little sentiment square under the helm is by Quick Quotes. I forgot to say the card base is pre-made by recollections.

I'm no plain Jane
Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the challenge at Crafting from the Heart to which we were told the theme was to be "cheeky". I went to the website to write this post and it says all challenges are anything goes so I hope you like my cheeky card that I was so worried about. Lol.
I'm using Jungle Jane Sassy as my image for this card. I printed her out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers and colored pencils by Stampin Up. I fussy cut her out and set her aside while I made the rest of the card. The green frame paper is by Best Creations and the patterned paper in the background is by Basic Grey. The brown cardstock is by Coredinations, white by Recollections and the two greens by Provo Craft. I cut the leaves out with my Cricut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. The alphabet letters are by Lawn Fawn with ink by Stampin Up.

Chalk Ah Lot nautical card
Back again for week 2 on the Chalk Ah Lot blog challenge blog for the challenge Nautical with Chalk. Here is my card which is similar to last weeks card. The waves have been painted with a mixture of powdered chalk and paint by Stamp N Plus. I added Stardust chalk to the embossed area after I inked it with distress ink. It's hard to see in this picture but in real life it has a beautiful shimmer to it.
The anchor tag was painted with Gem chalk for the outside and Foggy for the anchor. I adore this card however I don't know what occasion it would be used for. I might hold onto this one for a while before sending it out to friends or family just so I can look at it:)
The embossing folder and twine/string is by Darice. The die cuts are all by Cricut's cartridge Life's a Beach. I really like the little seagulls. The cardstock used in this card is by Recollections.

Chalk Ah Lot Nautical
The week's challenge (#40) over at Chalk Ah Lot is nautical with chalk. For my card today I cut out some die cuts from the Cricut cartridge Life's a Beach and chalked them up. The waves are size 11/2 on white cardstock and then I utilized the shift option by cutting out the outline wave on two of them. I then combined powdered chalk and paint from Stamp N Plus and painted over the white cardstock with the colors Jules Blue, Sky and Jade. I combined the different colors on my paint brush and then used the streaking property of the chalk to create deeper colors. The sentiment is a die cut from the same cartridge that I painted with Gem and Foggy Powdered chalk. The die cut it is on is by Sizzix and I inked those edges with Ranger Distress ink. The eyelets are from my stash and the rope is from Stampin Up.
Thanks for stopping by.

Chalk-Ah-Lot Lighthouse card
Edited May 2021. See sidebar for explanation
Below the card is a picture tutorial on how I achieved the look of the lighthouse.
Other Supplies used in this card:
Patterned paper by MME and DCWV
cardstock by Recollections
Border die and scallop oval by Spellbinders
helm die cut by Cricut Life is a Beach
Braiding cord by Allary (bought at Wal-Mart)
Sentiment stamp by Stamp N plus Scrap N
Ink by Memento
I thought I would show you how I made this background.
I used glue with my chalk this time.
I painted the blue chalk on top of the sheet of watercolor paper.
Then painted a little bit of green on the bottom.
I stamped my image using Memento black ink. Let both your glue/chalk mixture dry before stamping the image.
Got out my Spellbinders scallop oval die and lined it up to the image.
Ran it through my Cuttlebug once to cut and a second time to emboss it.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
