Floral Friday Paper Pieced Sunflower Sympathy Card

The sunflower background die is from Scrapbooking Made Simple. I used a host of old patterned papers by Provo Craft to paper piece the petals back into the die. The center of the flower is brown flock by Inkadinkado.
Then, sigh, I matted the flower die panel onto another piece of patterned paper from that same paper pad. Well…it was crooked and for some reason I thought that I could straighten it out making the same marginal frame around the edges. using pinking shears. It didn’t. SMH! I decided to make the whole thing look uneven by trimming the edges in different areas and ways. I made it look like it was supposed to be distressed.
The card base is from Current. I inked the edges so it wouldn’t stick out and compete with the white sentiment label. The sentiment is by Stampendous and it’s cut out with a Spellbinders die.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Floral Friday Flower die card

Patterned paper by Paper Favourites. Floral die cut by Scrapbooking Made Simple. The grey paper that outlines the flowers is the product of a heat embossed background stamp failure. I didn’t get a complete image. In an attempt to save it, I covered it with distress ink. The background still looked like crap so I’m using it for die cutting.

Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Debossed background card

The background is made with Tim Holtz kraft core cardstock combined with a dry embossing folder by Darice. Then I used some Copic markers of the same shade.
I had intended for the raised embossing to be on the kraft side of the cardstock but I wasn’t mindful of which way was up on the embossing folder .
I then decided to cut out a cover plate die cut by Simply Defined from Scrapbooking Made Simple out of Papertrey Ink polka dot patterned paper. After I adhered it to my embossed background I colored in the die cut leaves and it didn’t work. I tried different colors and
nothing seemed to look right.
So to take away from the leaves that I didn’t like, I used a Copic marker over the raised embossed areas. It’s okay.
Thanks for stopping by. HAGD!

Pastel Butterfly Cards

I white heat embossed the butterflies and colored them in with Copic markers. Butterflies and sentiment stamps are by Stampendous.
I used the same patterned paper as my first layer. Even though it's mostly covered up it pulls out the little bit of color in the butterflies. The patterned paper pad is from Hobby Lobby. (I should use it more).

The diagonal design border on this second card is washi tape by 3M. It's a pain to get off the roll because it's fragile and the stickiness isn't consistent. I almost had it to the size I wanted and it ripped. Oh, Come on!!
The lace is from Scrapbooking Made Simple, the oval die cut is by Spellbinders, and the celebrate die is by Couture Creations.
Thanks for looking.

A Duet of Butterfly cards

I have two A2 cards using the same die cut in 2 different colors.

Let me know which one you like by leaving me a comment at the end of this post.

The sentiment die is by Memory Box.
After I glued the butterfly die cut onto the white cardstock, I noticed that my glue had seeped out from underneath the butterflies.

To fix that I took a soft makeup brush full of Jacquard powder and dusted it all over the card front.
I dusted under the butterfly wings so the texture was the same throughout the card.

Sloppy? I think it looks sloppy. Did this totally fix it? No, not really but I couldn’t throw it away. Consider the lesson learned to have a lighter hand when applying the Bearly Art glue.

The patterned paper is by October Afternoon. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut a butterfly stamp by Cloud 9.

Then I colored on the butterflies of the die cut for a tone-on-tone look and hoped to add some interest. I did outline one of them with a white gel pen. The sentiment on the inside said, “I’m here for you”. (Idk if anyone will get the symbolism)

So which one do you like better? Comment below.

Manly Monday Balloon Slimline Card in greens and blues

Today, I gave this old Stampin Up stamp a new-to-me twist by using different colored inks and aligning the balloons side-by-side. I haven’t used this set in a while and the only reason I did is because I’m rearranging my room to be ergonomically correct and any stamp sets like this, ones which I haven’t used in a long time, are taking up prime real estate in my craft room. I decided to use the ones I liked or hadn’t used yet before I needed to get rid of them.

This is a 4 x 8 1/2“ card.*

The patterned paper is by Studio G and Cosmo Cricket.
