Floral Friday Oxide background Poinsettia Christmas

I made this card for Craft Roulette #206. The parameters were: Project-card with a heart (the word heart is in the sentiment). Colors-vintage (I think it looks vintage). Element-plant (pontisettia). Random- lace in the base (there’s lace on the card base.).

I started by stamping a bunch of panels with the poinsettia in the center and the sprigs in the corners. I colored this one with Copic markers but hated it so I heat embossed another one on watercolor paper and colored it in with watercolors. I dislike this one too. But due to time constraints, I had to go with it.

So what is it that I don’t like about the new flower? There's no definition that the flower has petals. There’s no dimension. When you have different shades of colors added you can look as though one petal is under another.

Anyway, I created the background with distress oxide and spritzed it with water. Then I added pre-adhesive lace to make it look like a present.

Pastel Butterfly Cards

I white heat embossed the butterflies and colored them in with Copic markers. Butterflies and sentiment stamps are by Stampendous.
I used the same patterned paper as my first layer. Even though it's mostly covered up it pulls out the little bit of color in the butterflies. The patterned paper pad is from Hobby Lobby. (I should use it more).

The diagonal design border on this second card is washi tape by 3M. It's a pain to get off the roll because it's fragile and the stickiness isn't consistent. I almost had it to the size I wanted and it ripped. Oh, Come on!!
The lace is from Scrapbooking Made Simple, the oval die cut is by Spellbinders, and the celebrate die is by Couture Creations.

September calendar Layout with Dad and Pam

I used a border punch by EK Success and did one side and the title was cut out with my Cricut. The circle was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I inked it with distress ink and then sprayed it with water mixed with gold Perfect Pearls. I cut off the bottom of another circle the same size and adhered it to this one. I then used a border sticker and placed it over the seam. The die cuts are by Recollections.

Kitty Christmas

I was at a barn the other day with a friend that has a horse there. Also in the horse barn were barn kitties and I fell in love. I would have loved to take one home with me but my dog would probably eat it, says my husband. So no kitty for me except here on my blog. Do you have a cat and if so how old is it?

The stamp is by Delafield Stamp Company out of Delafield, Wisconsin. If you are interested in the stamp leave me a comment and I can give you the phone number on the stamp. I stamped it with Versa Color black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I colored the image in with distress inks and a water pen both by Ranger. I inked the edges of the image before matting it onto patterned paper by Martha Stewart. The music paper is by Penny Black and the green cardstock by Recollections. The sentiment sticker is by Hobby Lobby and the ribbon from my stash.

Christmas Cards all Year Round

Today starts a new challenge at Christmas Cards all year Round. The theme for June is snowmen or women. For my card I used a Deep Red Stamp snowman that you can find at

and

I wanted the outline of the snowman to be black because the white would, well not would it did get lost in the white cardstock. (I tried heat embossing the stamp in white first and decided that was no good.) So I stamped the image with Versa Color black pigment ink and heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder. Then I colored the image in with powdered chalk mixed with paint both by Stamp N Plus. I then matted the image onto a scrap of yellow cardstock and then pulled out this red piece of patterned paper by Bazzill Basics. The red yarn like fibers at the bottom come from a place called Orchard Yarn and Thread Co Inc.

Shaped Christmas Card at the challenge blog Christmas cards All Year Round

There's a new challenge this month at Christmas Cards all Year Round that I hope you will join in and play. The challenge is shape cards other than square or rectangle.
I made this Christmas card using a Sizzix die cut by doubling up the cardstock and leaving a bit over the creased edge. It makes a beautiful top folding card. Then I die cut the red cardstock by Stampin Up and also the blue patterned paper from Simon Says Stamp. The snowman stamp by Paper Smooches is white heat embossed with Versa Mark ink and myStamp Box powder and then paper pieced together. The red patterned paper is by Scenic Route {very old indeed} and the black and also the white cardstock used in the card are both by Recollections. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts and is stamped with red Stampin Up ink. The foam sparkly snowflake thingies are from Hobby Lobby.

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Today is the first day of the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook challenge. It's pretty cool because they give you the image for free and all you have to do is make something with that image before Dec 26th and upload it to the FB album. Here are the prizes:

1st Place- Will recieve a $10.00 gift card and also gets to be guest designer for the month. Which entitles them to more free images and new release images for that month.

2nd Place- $10.00 gift card.

3rd Place- $5.00 gift card

This month the free image is Olaf and he also comes with a sentiment that is super cute but I didn't use it for this card. I printed him out onto Cryogen cardstock and lightly colored him with Copic markers. I decided to fussy cut him out leaving a little border around the edge of the. I dug out some old DCWV patterned paper that I just had a few pieces to work with. I adhered the background paper to a white Recollections card front and then matted the second piece of patterned paper onto blue cardstock also by DCWV.

The snowflake is foamy in dimension and part of a huge bucket of shapes for the winter season that I bought my niece from Hobby Lobby. The rick rack, though hard to see because it is the same color as the background paper is by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is a word die by Stampin Up, which is cardstock from an old Hallmark invitation that I will never use. It came from my Mother In Laws cards and things that I just went through and organized for her. I covered the die cut with a clear Wink of Stella pen. It does sparkle in real life. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

So I hope you will join us on the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook page for some free images and the chance to win great prizes. It is a closed group that you send a request to join and someone gets to it within 24 hours. Then you send a request for the images via email. I tell you all this so you will jump over there and get the goods before Dec 26th rolls around. HERE is a list of the rules for this challenge. Good Luck
