This month at Christmas cards all year Round (CCAYR) our challenge is to distress in some way and to sew on our cards. I have three examples:
For this one I tore the paper on the side border and then sewed the grey and white torn paper together. Pattern papers by DCWV, snowflake stamps on the white cardstock by Hero Arts and card by Halcraft. I used a platinum ink byTsukineko.
This one I have the torn paper which is evident but the sewing didn't show up in the picture well. I sewed down the vertical lines of the patterned paper. I'm not the best sewer so I didn't want the thread to be red for fear it would stand out too much. So I just used a light colored thread to hide any flaws that could have (and did) occur. Pattern paper by Sunborn, red cardstock by Stampin Up, ribbon by American Crafts, stamp set by Unity, ink by Ranger and card by The Paper Co.
I really like this last card. I tore strips of white cardstock to represent the ribbon around the present and then sewed it on for emphasis. I tried to mimic the bows in the patterned paper with ribbon above the gift. Patterned paper by DCWV, cardstock by Sunborn, ribbon by Offray, ink by Ranger and Stampin Up, embossing powder by Stampendous and card by Halcraft.
Be sure to visit CCAYR to see the other DT examples and join in on the fun. TFL
