Manly Monday Kenny K boy card + Winner announced

Thank you everyone that came to my blog for the Deep Red Stamps and Xyron blog hop. The winner is:

Marilyn
Email me at grohcm@gmail.com

For my Manly Monday card I'm taking things down to appeal to a younger masculine crowd. I used a digital stamp by Kenny K called Victory Kid. I printed him out onto Strathmore watercolor paper but I'm not sure how. Now a days my printer won't have anything to do with that thick cardstock. It's irritating that sometimes it works great and the you go to do it again  Anyway, I colored the image in with distress inks (Ranger) and Peerless watercolors. He turned out kind of cute and would be perfect for a young boy.

The background paper (My Mind's Eye) has been dry embossed with a star folder (Darice). I didn't think you could see the stars very well which led me to ink the edges with distress ink. I trimmed down a piece of black cardstock (Recollections) and orange dot cardstock (Bo Bunny) for the left side of the card. I matted the image with the same black cardstock.

To finish up this card, I've added a sentiment sticker (Pebbles) which looks like something the image would say.

That's all I have today. I hope you like it.

Kenny K Treacherous Treats

So today's card features a Kenny K image called Uptown Angel. I think she is pretty cute. I colored her with Copic markers on Cryogen cardstock. Then die cut her out with a Spellbinders die. While the paper was still in the die I inked the inside edges with distress ink and sprayed her with water mixed with Perfect Pearls both by Ranger Industries. I don't know all the specifics on product for this card but I do know the black cardstock is by Recollections and it has been die cut with a Spellbinders border die. The orange cardstock is by Tim Holtz and Coredinations and is punched out of a EK Success border punch. The orange on the very bottom is a sticker that I think was intended for journaling because it has lines. I used decorative scissors on it and stuck to my card. I think it is by Mrs. Grossman's. The treat sticker is by Martha Stewart.

Manly Monday Part 1 Gamer card

I made this boy-like card for the challenge at Kenny K's using their Boy Gamer digi stamp. I colored him in with Copic markers and then die cut the image with a Spellbinders die cut. I did paper piece his shirt from a light grey cardstock by Stampin Up. I stamped it with a patterned background stamp by Hero Arts. For the shoes I used a Faber Castell Artist pen to give them a little metallic look. I did distress the edges of the die cut because it looked way to white and clean for a boy image.

The background stamps and sentiment are stamps by Papertrey Ink. I stamped the background with Sahara Sand ink by Stampin Up onto some random kraft cardstock in my paper bin. I heat embossed the sentiment {4 times but who's counting-Ugh!} using white embossing powder by Stamp N Plus, Versa Mark by Tsukineko, and black cardstock by Recollections. The light bulb brad is by Eyelet Outlet.
EST.

Welcome back to Manly Monday. I had so many people write me back about their card I had to split it up into two posts and I did so by separating cards for the younger masculine and the older masculine cards. This post has the younger cards but some could go for both. I really enjoy doing these posts featuring your cards and I hope you enjoy reading them and checking out the masculine card inspiration. Please click on the blog title above the little snippet to be directed to the blog post.  Then when you are done please scroll down for my card.

Thanks so much for looking the older male cards blog post will go live at 6:00 PM

Manly Monday

Welcome back to Manly Monday. I have a handful of great masculine cards for you to look at. Click on the blog name above the small photo to go directly to the blog post.

For my card this week I used the digi image Anime Hockey by Kenny K. I colored him in with colored pencils (Stampin Up and some unknowns) and partially die cut him out. The die cut I used by Quickutz is a long rectangle and I didn't have that much paper to die cut out. So I just die cut the image and cut the left edge straight. I matted that die cut onto red cardstock by DCWV. The #1 Boy is a stamp by Fiskars stamped in black Hero Arts ink.

This card is part of the chalk challenge at Chalk Ah Lot. The July challenge is anything goes with chalk sponsored by the fabulous Kenny K. I used chalk on the background. The background paper is a grid patterned by Recollections. I dry embossed it using a Darice embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. Then I applied red powdered chalk by Stamp N Plus to the whole piece of patterned paper. This chalk does not need to be sprayed for it to stay on the card. It won't rub away.
