December Calendar layout Easter trying to be Christmas

The patterned paper, though unknown, has been a source of conflict on this layout. The large snowflake is a Creative Memories die cut, while the smaller white snowflake is a Spellbinders die cut.
The patterned paper is so busy. It complements the blue shirts and sage-colored walls. I adhered a double mat to the photo hoping it would make the photo stand out but it gets lost amidst the busy patterned paper.
So, what’s the issue? I believe it’s the red and green border. It doesn’t match the patterned paper. I was trying too hard to make it Christmas when the picture was taken on Easter.
I appreciate you stopping by today. Have a great day!

However Long the Night the Dawn Will Break
This is a tribute card to 911. The patterned paper is from my stash. I applied Astro Paste by Simon Hurley onto a sunrise stencil by Tim Holtz directly onto of the patterned paper at the top of the card. The bottom of the card is white cardstock that I used to wipe up the remaining paste on the stencil. The unknown sentiment is on a Spellbinders scallop circle die. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Embossing Paste Seashell Wreath cards
The second card I cut it out with a Spellbinders circle die and then embossed it using the squishy pad. While it was still in the die I inked the inside with distress ink. I added some definition to the seashells using a couple of watercolor markers. The die cut under the seashells is an old wallpaper sample. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Dangerous Glitter Christmas Card
The title is compelling. The card base was made with a piece of glitter paper. It was an 8x8 piece of paper that I cut the top down to 6”. I scored it at 4” and used a bone folder to burnish the edge. Then I went over it with my hand and the glitter literally cut my hand. The JOY die is by Spellbinders. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday E=Mc2 Graduation card
My card is a matchbox card. The background, E=Mc squared stamp is by Deep Red Stamps. I stamped it with black ink and blended my background with distress oxides. The grad cap was made with my Cricut. The sentiment die is by Spellbinders, and the sentiment is from Stamps of Life. The ribbon is from Michael's. I colored the white line in the middle with a Copic marker.

Ice Cream 🍦 cards
Second card is a fun fold that gave me a hard time. I put things on up side down…twice.
Moving on. The pink patterned paper is a recycled card by American Greetings. The ice cream was created in the same way as the first card. The die cut is also by Spellbinders but I inked the paper while it was in the die. The sent is from the same stamp set Avery Elle. Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Manly Monday Anchor Card
The patterned paper is by Studio G. The embossed paper is by Colorbok. The sentiment is a stamp by Stampendous that I cut out with a Spellbinders die. While the paper was still in the die I embossed it using a rubber mat and then inked it with distress ink.
This card was supposed to go for Kendra‘s card challenge #10 but I didn’t like it. So it sat in the “To Be Finished” box waiting for an occasion or to come up with a brilliant way to finish it.
The sketch that inspired my card is in the upper right corner. Keep in mind, sketches are there to spark your creativity, and this was mine loosely based on the sketch.
Thanks for looking. HAGD!
