Manly Monday

Funny thing about posting to your blog-you have to take the pictures off your camera. Who would have thought?
This week I used wrapping paper and Mod Podge to create my card. I crippled the paper because it already had creases in the middle of the map and then smoothed it back out using the MP. The label is from Martha Stewart and the rub on by The Paper Studio. Cardstock be Recollections.

PS My husband didn't think the ribbon was very manly but I chose to post it anyway.

Robyn's Fetish Challenge #99

This week at The Robyn's Fetish Challenge the challenge is to make an easel card. You can find instructions on how to make an easel card HERE. They are not that hard to make and are very fun to look at. You should give it a try.
We were sponsored by Fred She Said. They have the most beautiful images. Check them out.
For my card I used distressing inks to color in my bird and flowers. I used watercolor paper by Hobby Lobby and then used a Spellbinders die to cut out the flowers. I embossed it as well. The bird I fussy cut it after painting it.
The yellow paper is by CGull. I used a Hero Arts background stamp and yellow ink by CTMH to give it a little pattern but not too much that would take away from the digi's.
The pink carstock is by Recollections and the card base is by Halcraft. The sentiment is a SRM sticker.
Thanks for looking.

Paper Piecing

I love this technique but tend to forget about it. This Lawn Fawn stamp is perfect for paper piecing. There is this ONE with the bathing suits that would be great too.
For this card I used patterned paper by Reminsce (flowers) and the other I think is by K and Co. Cardstock by Recollections and Hobby Lobby. Ink by Memento. Die cut and border by Spellbinders.

It's fun to paper piece with digital stamps too. Just print the same digi (at the same size) on the patterned paper you want something to be. It looks awesome when you do it with clothes like a top and pants. See my card below. I used cardstock as the top and not a very good print for the pants. But live and learn. I've previously posted this card but wanted to show the fun of paper piecing with digital stamps too. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday

This week's Manly Monday is a found treasure within the deepest part of my craft room. Whe I use to go to crops and retreats I would use other ladies cartridges and stamps to use for later. This airplane is one of those creations. I have no idea where it came from but it was so cute I had to use it for a congratulations card. The sentiment sticker is by SRM and Cardstock by Sunborn. The card base is by Halcraft. The patterned paper is really old as well and therefore I don't have a manufacturer for it. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Bird-day party

My mom bought me this stamp set by Layers of Color called birdday party. I've never had a stamp set by them before. I think they are nice and wanted to show you a card I made using it.
For this card I just used the sentiment stamp from the set. It goes great with the embossing folder by Provo Craft. To get the embossed areas different colors I used Smooch ink by Clearsnap. I used different shades of green to give a shadow affect along with some dots of purple mixed in there.
Thanks for looking.

One Stitch at a Time #103

This week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time is to recycle. I chose to recycle this packaging from some rub ons by using my Tim Holtz alcohol inks to make the surface the same colors as my patterned paper and my colored in image.

Using my Cricut I cut the marquee shaped die cut to go behind the Spellbinders die cut with the image on it. I also used a piece of the packaging for the sentiment. Staz on ink worked well on this glossy surface. My image is by Stitchy Stamps. She has the cutest Easter stamp right on the first page.

Other supplies:
Copic markers
Stickles by Ranger
ribbon by Michael's and Stampin Up
patterned paper by Provo Craft
Card base by Recollections

Cupcake card Robyn's Fetish Challenge #97

This week at The Robyn's Fetish Challenge our theme is Cupcakes. We are sponsored by

Limited Runs Digital Stamps.
The company is still around as of March 2019

They have a ton of fun cupcake images. You must check them out. I got the apple cupcake and had fun coloring it in with my Copic markers. The pink die cut I made using alcohol ink on glossy paper. I used some of my Copic marker refill ink to get just the right color to match the image. I then cut the die cut using my Cricut and the Storybook cartridge.
The background stamp is by Hero Arts and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then used my distressing tool and Sugar Spun distressing ink to give it a pink hue.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great Sunday.
