Manly Monday Layered Birthday Stars

My card today features a couple of star dies that I bought off eBay. They have a stitched edge and cut beautifully. I started with a white card base where I've stamped a Fiskars border stamp on top and bottom with brown ink. The patterned paper is by Creative Memories and I layered it on top of it brown cardstock, blue cardstock, a white star followed by a blue star. The sentiment is a Fiskars stamp and the small star die cut is by Lawn Fawn.

Lawn Fawn Cats and Dogs Cards

Two cards today using Lawn Fawn stamps. The dog, bird, cat, and butterfly were all stamped onto Ranger's watercolor paper and then die cut out with the matching dies. I used Peerless watercolors to color them in. I made the dog sentiment with Harold ABC's onto a Spellbinders die. I inked the white card base with blue distress ink to create the sky. I made the hills with some leftover patterned paper by Recollections and cardstock by Stampin Up.

Here are 2 other cards with this dog stamp

Beerfest Calendar Layout

I have a calendar layout to share today. Every year I make calendars for the family and one for the cottage. The one for the cottage is only allowed to have cottage pictures. "Beerfest" photos are only made while at the cottage. Here's the scoop there's a yearly event called BeerFest and it's here in Beer City USA, Grand Rapids, MI. One year on a cold February day the guys went to the event. They loved it and wanted to make it a yearly event. Next year when they went to buy tickets the event SOLD OUT in less than an hour. IKR-Holy Cow!
So, They started their own Beerfest event at our cottage. I find that better for everyone. I will babble for a moment (I'm timing myself). I was the one that had to pick them up in Grand Rapids. They were so drunk and so was every single one of the idiots staggering across the streets without looking. I lost two. They took off like some little kids at a grocery store. And the other drunks didn't know where they went but maybe across the street. Oh great. That's a four-lane street that in 55 MPH and one of the two lost, yup you guessed it, my husband.
Time's up. Doing this "event" at my cottage is better because everyone has a place to go inside and sleep or pass out.
The snowflake background is a Cricut cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I made it very large to fit the page. The blue background paper by Sunborn. Beer mug stamp, brown ink, and speckled cardstock by SU with the letter stamps by Lawn Fawn and black Hero Arts ink. I bought the tags at Walmart and they are by Forever in Time.

Gold Cross Card

I stamped the cross by Recollections with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with a matte gold powder. I used a Sizzix die to cut it out. The background paper is by DCWV and I applied gold Perfect Pearls to it. I like things to sparkle. The bottom is a wallpaper sample that I dry embossed. I covered the seam of the two papers with a Mrs. Grossman's border stick and added the medallion sticker by CM to the right.

Pocket Scrapbooking '69 and '70

Today I have some simple pocket scrapbooking to share. These are a part of the project I'm doing for my husband's family books. These are so simple compared to what I've seen online but I have so many pictures and years to do that I can't spend a ton of time on each layout. Besides, I think I've mentioned before that I'm making these for boys/men and they don't care about all the frills. They look at the pictures and that's about it.

I used patterned paper by Recollections and Sunborn to mat each picture. The size of the pocket is 4x4 and the picture is 3 3/4 x 3 3/4. If I didn't mat them onto the paper the picture would fall out. I did cut the titles out with Cricut's Cuttin' Up cartridge and added a few stickers. Some of the die cuts are by Studio G and the stamping under the pictures is done with Lawn Fawn Harold ABC's.

Birthday Cake. Birthday Time ATC's

I created the background for these ATC's using a Tim Holtz clock stencil. I inked them with a dark purple and then went in and added the blue, yellow, and green, which are all distress inks. The cake stamp by SU was stamped in purple and I added gold Smooches ink to the flame of the candles.

The word "Birthday" is a Maya Road stamp stamped with black Hero Arts ink and the word "Time" is part of a ribbon by Queen and Co. The clock is from a piece of decorative tape that reminds me of athletic tape. I used the Ranger stapler to create the hands of the clock. The purple ribbon was white and I dyed it with either distress ink, SU ink, or Sta-On ink. I didn't have the color purple ribbon so I made my own.

Peach, Flowers, a Heart, Borders and a Deep Red stamp card

I stamped the plaid background stamp by Deep Red Stamps with Hero Arts ink onto white cardstock. I matted black cardstock behind it and adhered both pieces to a scrap of patterned paper. I cut the borders out with the Cricut and the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. For the flower, I adhered one to the base and layered on top of it two folded in half flowers. I covered the seam with the heart punch by Creative Memories.

Join Us in Paris ATC

These ATC's were a swap to use our favorite product and mine at the time were borders. These borders were cut out with the Cricut and the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge. There are two that have Spellbinders borders below the light purple border. The background paper is by SU and DCWV. The image is made up of two Stampendous stamps. The Eiffel Tower and then a small background in the same set. Then I inked them with Milled Lavender distress ink to match the paper. The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn.

Season's Greetings Banner Card

I have a card today using some small ornament stamps that have been stamped, colored and Stickled from the lady I got all the Christmas stamps from. I punched each one out with the mosaic punch by Stampin Up to make a banner. I sewed DMC floss at the top of the green patterned paper by Creative Memories and then matted it onto reddish/burgundy cardstock.

The patterned paper is by Making Memories, which looking back at my posts I see that I've used this paper a lot this season. It is adhered to a 5x6.5 off white card base by Recollections. The sentiment stamp and black ink are by Hero Arts on green Creative Memories green cardstock. I used a Sizzix die to cut it out and inked the inside with distress ink before adhering it to the card.

Valentine ATC's

I made these ATC's for a Valentine's Day swap. The heart stencil and white glossy embossing paste are by Dreamweaver Stencils. I made the hearts on watercolor paper and after they dried I ran them through a pool of distress inks and water. I cut them down and inked the edges with Walnut distress ink before adhering each heart to its own digital tag that I had printed and cut out.

The background is the Brick Wall Background Stamp by Deep Red Stamp stamped with brown ink by SU. I applied different colors of distress ink around the background to pull out the colors in the hearts. I wrapped lace around the base a few times before securing it with a brad. I cut the sentiments out from old greeting cards and adhered them to the upper left side.

And then I thought I was done. But I went to join these cards to the other sets I had made and they were smaller. Ugh! Are you kidding me? I sat on it for a day mostly because I was mad at myself. But then as I was into my brown scrap folder and this The Paper Studio glitter paper jumped out and said "Use Me!" I did so and loved it. It was the perfect end to these ATC's.

I hope you like them. Thanks for stopping by.

Santa Claus cards

I have some Santa Claus Christmas cards to share. The Santa stamp is by------. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with red embossing powder by Ranger. The off white paper the Santa is on happens to be the back piece of paper of a stack of checks. Upcycling is the best.

The patterned paper is by Bazzill, the ribbon by Making Memories and the glitter cardstock behind the image is by Recollections.

So the picture below shows the first Santa card I made which includes a piece of gold diagonal stripes behind the image. I just didn't like it. I thought it was too busy or maybe I could say it better as, I didn't think the card needed the extra paper. The Santa face is so interesting to look at. Without the gold paper the focus is on the face where it should be.

Birthday Wrinkles Card

I'm always making birthday cards and this one is a revamped Mother's Day card. It had so much bulk to it as it was before. The flower stamp is by My Stamp Box and it is layered onto a Creative Memories paper flower. The sentiment stamp is by Fiskars.

Layered Stamping Cards

This layered stamping is a fun technique to do. I posted a similar card in green HERE

I start stamping at the bottom with the lightest color and work my way up using a darker color ink every row or every other row. I also stamp more then what you see here. Just in case there is a section that didn't turn out well I can trim the paper down to accommodate the flaw. The first card uses a pennant stamp by Maya Road and the other a circle stamp by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment stamps are by Fiskars with Hero Arts black ink. The background paper is an oldie by Provo Craft.

Blue Mosaic Thinking of You

I have a thinking of you card to share today. This one uses all Stampin Up stamps and blue dye ink by Ranger. I dried embossed the off white background with the matching folder. Stamped and punched the images to nestle into a row of them. The die in the center is a Cricut cut out of shimmer blue paper by Recollections.

Deep Red Stamps Vector Flourish card

My card today uses Deep Red Stamps Vector Flourishes stamp set. I stamped it in brown Stampin Up ink and colored in part of it with Smooches ink by Colorbox. The border is by Spellbinders out of Bazzill brown cardstock, which is the same cardstock behind the patterned paper. I think the patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye-maybe and you can correct me if I'm wrong.

Christmas Card Layout of Faith 2009

Here's another layout for my Christmas card book. I keep all the photo pictures that people send at Christmas time and scrapbook them into a 8.5 x 11 scrapbook. It's really fun to see the kids grow, however as the kids get into their teens the photo cards don't come as much. Last year I felt like not as many people were sending Christmas cards but this year has been fabulous. We received about 5 cards after the holiday which was fine by me. I love getting mail that isn't a bill.

Anyway, there's kind of a lot going on with this layout and it has a lot of bulk to it but sometimes you have to use that bulky product just for fun. I'm going to start with the border down the left side.

I painted the chipboard swirl with red paint by Pebbles. The felt ribbon is by Oriental Trading Co, which is one of my favorite ribbons ever. The candy die cut is by American Crafts, flower by Recollections and Christmas tree by Jolee's. The ornament at the bottom is by Prickley Pear stamp and it's actually a hot air balloon that I turned upside down. I stamped it with black Hero Arts ink and cut it out. Then I colored it in with Stickles (Ranger) and once it was dried I set a black eyelet through the bottom (or is it the top?) and added some gold Martha Stewart string through the eyelet to add it to my chipboard piece.

The rest of the layout unfolds with striped paper by Die Cuts With a View on top of white cardstock (Recollections). The tag at the top right is a chipboard pennant by Stampin Up that I added red brads to. The tag on top of the pennant is by Jolee's and I stamped the year with Oriental Trading Co stamps and red ink (Stampin Up). At the bottom right corner of the picture I added a green metallic chipboard corner piece (Studio G/Hampton Arts) with a smaller red sparkle corner sticker on top (K and Co).

I followed this sketch but turned sideways and on a 8.5 x 11 size layout. The Scrapfriends website is no longer running to give them credit for this sketch.

Manly Monday Down by the Sea

Today's Manly Monday card is me dreaming of warmer days that are so far away. The snow is coming down right now and roads are slick as can be.
Anyway, the anchor is a foam stamp that I stamped with blue Making Memories paint onto a piece of upholstery fabric. I die cut it out with a Spellbinders die and inked the edges blue. The left background is stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp with blue ink. The swirl in the center area is a piece of Creative Memories paper using one of their wave paper trimmers. The sentiment is a Cricut cut but not sure which one.

Birthday Flower ATC

Today I have a birthday ATC to share that I made in the fall. The background paper has been dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and then I heavily covered it with gold Perfect Pearls. The flower is a stamp and matching die set by Sizzix. I stamped it with Colorbox pigment ink and once it dried I painted over the lines with stardust powdered chalk mixed with white paint. The happy birthday stamp is by Lawn Fawn and the jute is by Tim Holtz. Border punch is unknown. That leaf is from my MIL's stash of seals. She had a bunch of them. I think they were used for the back of the envelopes. I will link a

Pretty Tag Embellishments

This first embellishment is a Spellbinders rectangle die that I stamped with an Anna Griffin background stamp with Colorbox pigment ink. I stamped the flower (Stampin Up) and used the matching punch to cut it out. I also used that same punch for a piece of foam to adhere together with the stamped image. I layered the circles together and placed the flower on top. I added an American Crafts pennant to use as a place to add the date.

In this second one, I die-cut the two layers using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. On the bottom layer, I stamped a Hero Arts background with Versa Mark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. On the die cut closer to the top I wrapped navy ribbon around it and tied it into a bow.

I thought it needed a little bit more so I dug around in my goodies and came across the Hero Arts stamped love flower on a circle die cut. I added a scallop punch (Stampin Up) out of Die Cuts with a View patterned paper behind it. I set a purple-ish-colored eyelet in the center and adhered it down.

Christmas Card Layout of Michelle 2014

I have another layout for my Christmas Card book to share today. On this layout, I started with Recollections sparkly silver and green cardstock. I die cut the green shape and the letters with my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. The number die cuts are white glitter paper (Recollections)  and behind the numbers is a piece of peachy/pink cardstock.

The swirl under the year and small circles on the right and left points of the green die cut are fabric stickers and by Little Yellow Bicycle. There's a chipboard arrow sticker to the top right of the photo to draw your attention to the cut-out from the greeting of their card.
