Lawn Fawn Mermaid Cards

I used stamps by Mermaid stamps by Lawn Fawn and the Fintastic set and colored them in with Copic markers
Inks by Memento, Hero Arts and Distress ink
The sentiment stamps are by Lawn Fawn Fintastic stamp set
Dry embossing folders by Cuttlebug
The die-cuts are by Memento, Lawn Fawn n and eBay
Border punch by EK Success
I used old school folders, fun foam and a bunch of scraps for some of the waves
The shell eyelets are by Eyelet Outlet
I also used alcohol inks, a sunray stencill and unknown die cuts for the sentiments

This is a close up of the background. It is a Thank You Hero Arts background stamp stamped with silver pigment ink.
I created the sun rays with a Tim Holtz stencil on top of the background with Distress Oxide.

The next two pictures show the backgrounds that were both made with alcohol inks and dry embossed with the same folder. However, the one was inked with distress ink and distress oxide and the other one wasn't. Interesting comparison.

The Copic marker coloring is not very good for me. I have a hard time coloring these little merpeople. Idk what it is about them. I looked at Pinterest to get ideas and see how others are coloring them and still, I'm not happy with how they turned out. Oh well.

I really don't think the recipient will say, "This mermaid is colored crap."

And if they do, LOL, I won't know.

Manly Monday The 10th birthday card that I forgot to send.

I'm in a Facebook group that sends cards to those who request them for someone else. I made this one specifically for a 10-year-old boy's birthday and forgot to send it. Ugh!
I even stamped, "Happy 10th birthday" on the inside. SMH
The sentiment is a stamp by Fiskars
The border dies are by Tim Holtz
I have a square white brad in the lower-left corner

A side note, I feel as though I should post something of my mother.
She died one year ago. It's sad that she was gone 6 years before her actual death.
It's hard to remember things about her from before.
But I do know,
She loved everything I made,
and she would think it's funny that I make cards but can't mail them out on time.

I know she is in a much better place and that gives me peace of mind.

23rd Wedding Anniversary

Yup, you read it correctly, I've been married for 23 years. That means I have had my married name longer than my maiden name.
I'm sharing some layouts that I have finished in the past month.

These are my in-laws. Stampin' Up paper and border by Martha Stewart

Pocket page on the other side

They put the wedding announcement in multiple papers back in 1961.

I used some October Afternoon patterned paper and borders by Martha Stewart for the pocket page

This next one is my MIL's younger sister.
Patterned paper by Colorbok called Wild Roses
The sewed on the vellum behind the bride which made a pocket for the invitation.
Note to self, don't use vellum as a pocket. It is more likely to rip.
I need to add the date somewhere

The heart brad allows the invite to hinge and show the reception card.

My FIL is the best man at this wedding. The kids called him uncle Paul
Patterned paper from the same as above.
Letter Stamps from Stampin Up
Border punch by EK Success.
Small die-cuts on each said are by Cricut. There is also a brown sticker that covers the seam. The love paper is by Making Memories (I think)
It is the pocket for the invitation.
I laminated the invitation and left a border so I could cut a slit on the top.
I put a die-cut through that slit and folding it in half.
I stamped the "Two Shal Become One" on one side.
Then, I adhered the two halves of the die-cut together making it pull out mechanism.
In time, it will probably rip but it looks cute now.

Quite a different look with the same stamp when looked at side by side.

This last one is a crappy photo but still wanted to see the two cards side by side.
