Teacher Appreciation Week Thank You Cards

You never want to hear the words “we had a lockdown today”. Worse yet it was because someone was in the building. That’s when I made these cards the night of the lockdown day. They’re not awesome cards but they were appreciated by the principal and vice principal. I didn’t take many pictures or close ups of them except that one. It was 6am and hubs was leaving for work.

The patterned papers are by Kaiser Crafts. The big Thank you and Grateful stamps are by The Paper Co. The yellow and green patterned papers are oldies by Provo Craft.

Today I have a set of little boy type cards

I inked the blue sky with distress ink 

The patterned papers are from my stash. Feels good to use up scraps.

Manly Monday Blue Embossed Distress ink Just for You in a circle card

The title is a little long. Lol. But it helps me know which card it is.

The sentiment stamp is by The Paper Co. with blue ink by Ranger

The circle punches are by CM. One large one under the diagonal patterned paper and two-layered on top with dimensional adhesive.

The patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View

and graph paper is a Project Life card

The blue cardstock is dry embossed with a Sizzix folder. 

Then I inked it with distress ink color faded jeans and spritzed with some water.

Deep Red Stamps Potted Plants cards

Sketches in Thyme Project Life

It's my turn on the Sketches in Thyme Project Life blog using the following sketch:

I'm working on these pocket page (We R Memory Keepers) books for my brothers-in-law. Each boy will gets a book with pictures from their childhood. There are 5 boys. Yes 5. (Ugh!) Therefore, my layouts for these books aren't like uber detailed for two reasons: 

First - I have a deadline and I really want to meet that goal-I'm not sure if it's really possible to get them all done by Christmas but I'll try. 

Second - They're boys and according to my husband, when he looks at a page he doesn't see the same things as I do. He sees the pictures and the memories that go with them not the embellishments. He doesn't like the pages when they're too busy so I keep them plain and simple.

The grid patterned paper is by October Afternoon and the green is by Making Memories. I stamped the train and stars (The Paper Company) and the numbers and letters (Lawn Fawn) with Hero Arts black ink. The arrow and the number 6 are Cricut cuts.

All the different patterned papers on this page are by Making Memories. I circle cut a photo and added some birthday stickers to the right upper card.

Skating into Christmas

Christmas will be here before we know it so I've started working on them. This one uses the Deep Red Stamps Ice Skates stamp. I stamped it with Memento black ink and colored it in with Copic markers. I fussy cut the skates out best I could and then ran a black marker around the edges. 

I cut the layered die cut the image is on with my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. The cream cardstock is by Bazzil and the burgundy by The Paper Company. The center paper is by Die Cuts with a View. The sentiment is a gold sticker by Mark Enterprises. They look really old.

The background of my card is an old Christmas card that was given to a friend and she in turn gave to me. I do love to recycle or would it be called upcycle-who knows. I just love to give old things new life.

Fall Stamping ATC's

These ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) were made for a swap and the theme was stamping. The picture below shows the background /basg for the ATC. I stamped border stamps by The Paper Co side by side with these three colors.

These are close ups of each background. You can see there are a few mistakes in the stamping but they will get covered up.

I did a class at church and had to punch a bunch (over 100) of 1 1/2 inch squares in fall colors, which I used my Creative Memories punch. I like to use small pieces for projects like that and I noticed that these four negative pieces were very similar in the size of the left over scrap. It was a small scrap to begin with and I couldn't get another square out of the piece of paper.

I backed the negative square with patterned paper by Studio Calico. The other part of the card for church, we stamped fall like images on these 1 1/4 inch white squares and layered the small square on top of the larger square. I had these left overs white square and adhered them to the center of the negative.

This is the finished product. I adhered a piece of glittery chipboard by Colorbok underneath the negative square piece and each chipboard is a different shape. I adhered that whole piece to the lovely background from above. Then I embellished the front with some cardboard corrugated circles that I found in my stash and along with a circle epoxy sticker by Studio 112.

Sketches in Thyme Project Life

It's my day to post on the Sketches in Thyme Project Life blog with this weeks sketch.

I followed the sketch almost exactly with some circles that have been stamped with various Tim Holtz, The Paper Company and Inkadinkado stamps. The green ink is by Tsukineko and the blue by Stampin Up.

The layout consists of patterned paper by Making Memories, Little Yellow Bicycle and Die Cuts with a View. The border punch is by EK Success and brown cardstock by Coredinations.

The squares above and below the center picture were made like this:

I pulled out some old CM stickers where the color on the outside square matched my patterned paper but the center did not. There are two sets of squares in the pictures below. One where the dark center comes out as an individual sticker and the other is one whole sticker.

 I cut the square in half

I stamped the blue cardstock 

Punched out a circle 

Covered up the dark orange square with the stamped circles 

And here it is from left to right how I changed something that I had on hand to fit my colors/layout

Thanks a Ton Card

Today's card is so cute and I think a lot of fun. This fun whale stamp, spout and sentiment come from Clearly Besotted. I stamped the whale with Charcoal Shadow ink by Hero Arts and the image looks full and crisp. Love it! The spout is stamped with Stampin Up ink. For the border, I stamped it with Versa Color ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. 

I'm not sure if you've noticed that I never write the company of the clear embossing powder and it's because I had 4 semi filled bottles all by different companies and so to save on space (You know because those bottles take up a lot of space-silly I know) I poured them all into one container. I was surprised that it actually turned out fine. I was worried at first thinking I'm going to ruin the only clear embossing powder that I have and nope it was all good.

The border stamp is by The Paper Co with cardstock and patterned paper by Recollections. This card is a little bigger then I usually do. I made the card base with the darker teal cardstock which is 4 x 6 inches.

The die cut the whale is a Cricut cut from a freebie at Cricut Craft Room. The sentiment die cut is by Tim Holtz and Sizzix which is a great set for people just getting started with manual die cutting because it has the small sizes for sentiments and the larger ones are big enough for an image. You can die cut, emboss, and ink them even though they are not Spellbinders dies. They also work well for scrapbooking for say journalling or labeling a name or date below a photo. I also like the shield looking dies for masculine cards or layouts. So anyway, I just wanted to share with you a product that I really like.

Graduation Cards with Border Stamps

I have two similar graduation cards to share today. The patterned paper is by Best Creations. I used an off white cardstock for the stamping and blue and red cardstock for the matting. All cardstock is by Recollections. The sentiments, diploma and grad cap stamps are all by Studio G from Michael's. The circle punch is by Creative Memories and is adhered to the card with Zots 3D adhesive.

For the blue card, I used a border stamp by Inkadinkado, blue distress ink and ink by Close to my Heart. The red card uses a border stamp by The Paper Co, red distress ink and ink by Stampin Up.
