Manly Monday Anchor Card

The patterned paper is by Studio G. The embossed paper is by Colorbok. The sentiment is a stamp by Stampendous that I cut out with a Spellbinders die.  While the paper was still in the die I embossed it using a rubber mat and then inked it with distress ink.

This card was supposed to go for Kendra‘s card challenge #10 but I didn’t like it. So it sat in the “To Be Finished” box waiting for an occasion or to come up with a brilliant way to finish it.

The sketch that inspired my card is in the upper right corner. Keep in mind, sketches are there to spark your creativity, and this was mine loosely based on the sketch.

Thanks for looking. HAGD!

Scrapbook layout (wedding)

I made this Lo with the following sketch from Sketches for All. The PP red by Stampin Up, black with flower Deja Views and matting of the address is Recollections. It's hard to see but part of the stamps in the corners are heat embossed with red glitter embossing powder by Ranger. The flourish stamps are by Autumn Leaves. Ribbon by Michael's, sticker by Karen Foster, "Cherish" by JoAnn Fabrics. The clear photo corners are by Creative Memories because this pictures is a thank you postcard with writting on the back. Brad by Oriental Trading Co, paint by Making memories and ink by Memento and Versamark. The scallop edge is a trasnparency which I cut with decorative scissors, painted with red paint and then stamped on it. Tag under "special Moments" sticker is by TH and border stamp is by The Paper Co. Wow that was a lot to list. TFL

Vintage Mini album about me Sketch a thon

Here is the sketch for Sept 20th at Sketches for all for the September Sketch-a-thon. I used it to make another LO for my mini album at Sisterhood of Scrap. It was a challenge one of the members set for us by sending us materials to make a vintage album about our selves. I really had a blast making this album and was so glad I could incorporate the sketch-a-thon sketches too. Here is my mini album scrapbook layout.TFL

How about this? Halloween Scrapbook Layout

This LO was crated for the GDT spot at Backdoor memories. I didn't win the spot but I really like my LO. I did a few things on this LO that I don't normally do. First I got the blak paper wet and then crumpled it in my hands. After that I laid it out flat and waited for it to dry. Once the paper was dry, I took my white pigment pad and just so lightly I skimmed it over the cardstock. I think it looks kind of spooky. Second I made the pumpkin from three oval punches. The top I just free cut, which is something I never do. Third the stalk is raff-e-a (not sure how to spell it) I took the top and just ripped it into shreds.. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I hope you like what you see.

Great Grandma Scrapbook Layout

Yesterday was Grandparent's day and I had hoped to get these posted in honor of the day but a terrible headache had other plans for me. I made this LO with a sketch from Inspired Blueprints. I'm also going to post it on Scrap That where I am the Guest Designer for the month of September. My challenge was to scrap about a grandparent. Supplies- star by Colorbok, PP by MME, CS by Pioneer and HL, stamps by SU and G Studio, brads by MM, Hot off the Press and AC, letters by QK, frame by MM and "ribbon/tulle" by Lion Ribbon Co. The ribbon is clear so I took some stamping ink and made it green. TFL

Scrap That week #4

This LO is for Scrap That week four sketch. I used Sunborn and HL CS, PP by MME and unknown, Stencil for the sewing by OTC, stickers by Doodlebug Designs and CM. The big circle was made by the new cutting system shape by Creative Memories. I think I may have to purchase it on Sept 1st when it comes out. I believe it has six different sizes. I will have to buy the 12 by 12 matte to go with it. TFL

Scrap That week #3

This Lo is from the sketch at Scrap That. I don't have a way to make a 12 inch scallop edge so I used a circle punch, cut those circles in half and then adhered them on a strip of CS and hoped they were even. I think it turned out well. The stamps are by Autumn Leaves; flowers by Jolee's; beads and flower brad by PC; punches by Marvy, CM and EK Success; rhinestone title by Me and my big ideas; eyelets by MM. TfL

Scrapbook Layouts of trip to Florida

On my trip to visit the snowbirds, we went to the Eagles hall/lodge (not sure which one to use) and played Bingo. This was Mom's first time ever playing. We weren't too impressed by the person calling the numbers. You'd think he was talking to a bunch of old people because he was going so slow.

This sketch is from Creative-Scrappers.com. They post a sketch weekly for inspiration. Check them out. Flowers by Petaloo, OTC, Prima, Imaginence; Ribbon by Offray and unknown (green); stamps by Tim Holtz, SU, Inkadinkado; PP by Love Elsie and Sunborn; CS by SU and Pioneer; floss by J&P Coates; Brads by MM and BG.

This is Mom's mate Bob. He drove us all over Florida to check out as many old scrapbook stores as possible. Tons of fun for us.

The sketch for this LO is from Scrapthat.ca. They have a contest this month with a weekly sketch and a point system. If you like sketches definitely check it out. PP by DCWV, Far and Away scrapbooking and CM; Cartridge for Cricut is Life's a beach; Stamp by SU; Ink by Colorbox, and then Fastnators.

Sorry, I'm unable to provide links to these sites. I'm still learning how this works.
