Manly Monday

It's been crazy in my little world lately. I'm so busy with family, DT issues and going all over the place for work that I'm just happy to be sitting at my computer right now. I would pre-post things but stupid blogger won't post things when I schedule them! Makes me angry when things don't work right.
Anyway, I made this graduation card to sell at the shop down the street and wanted to share it with you. I found buying 12x12 paper for cards to be too much. It's hard for me to make 6 cards with the same paper. I bought this piece of 8 1/2 x 11 graduation patterned paper and loved making 4 cards from it. Over the next month or so I will share those cards with you here on Manly Monday.

Paper by The Paper Studio
Die cut by Creative Memories (grad cap) and Cricut (circles)
Text stamp by Hero Arts
Ink by Tsukineko
Gold paper by Creative Memories
Cardstock by Pioneer and Recollections.

One Stitch at a Time

This week at One Stitch at a Time our challenge is Here comes Summer. We are sponsored by Creative Craft World who will award 3 Pro-markers to the winner that uses an image from the Stitchy Bear Store. My image is by Stitchy and reminds me of summertime at our cottage. We love watching the hummingbirds in front of our big picture window.
I colored my image in using Copic markers and then used a Spellbinders die to create the shape. I inked the inside of the die cut using my blending tool and distressing ink by Ranger Industries. The background stamp is by Hero Arts, which I heat embossed using ink by Versa Mark and embossing powder by Stampendous. The sentiment stamps are by Unity Stamp Co and Layers of Color. The ink is by Tsukineko. The paper by Recollections, Provo Craft, Cyrogen, and Coredinations. The corrugated paper was something I picked up at Meijer and of course, don't know who makes it.

Thanks for looking.

The Robyn's Fetish Challenge #105

This will be my last post for The Robyn's Fetish Challenge. I decided to step down as design team member. I've been so busy doing other projects that I needed to let something go. This weeks challenge is cards for a new baby and we are sponsored by Crafty Pad Designs.
I used the rocking horse image our sponsor provided along with a sentiment stamp by Unity Stamp Co. The image is colored in using distressing inks by Ranger and water. Use a fine tip paint brush to apply color. The die cut is by Spellbinders and the embossing folder is by Cuttlebug/Provo Craft. Paper by Bazzill, Strathmore, Creative memories and Making Memories. Stick by EK Success.
Thanks for looking.

Flower birthday

I found this stamp within my stuff and that how pretty it would look if I painted it with chalk and paint mixed together. So I did the petals using Stardust and the center using both yellows. You can find the powdered chalk HERE
The yellow background paper is an oldie that I dug up but the red patterned paper is new by Bazzill. My scallop circle dies are by Spellbinders and the label die is by Martha Stewart. Sentiment stamp is by The Paper Co and I used Memento black ink on both. Red eyelet is by Making Memories and yellow ribbon is by Offray. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my bright card.

Manly Monday

I'm starting to make Father's Day cards for the store that I sell my cards at. I saw this Unity stamp on sale at Two Peas and had to have it.
I colored it in using distressing inks and water. The background of the strip of paper across the center was made using a wax paper technique. It gives the card great texture. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts.

Photo Inspired Christmas card Mid-Month reminder

Christmas Cards all year Round Mid Month reminder This month at Christmas Cards all year Round our inspiration comes from this photo:

Make a card using any of the aspects of this photo as your guide and post at the CCAYR blog. This is a great way to get those Christmas cards started and ready for Christmas 2012.
My card today is a little bit of everything. I used the oval shape for my sentiment (die cut by Spellbinder, glitter frame by K & Co, ink by Stampin Up and stamp by Hero Arts), the yellow and red combination in my patterned paper (yellow paper is very old by Provo Craft and red paper and ribbon are by Stampin Up) and the detail of the red patterned paper correlates to the detail on the eggs (border by Spellbinders).
I hope you will join us this month at CCAYR for our photo inspiration challenge. There are only 14 people in so far and the prize is fabulous. Take a look HERE.

Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe Challenge #8

This week at Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe the challenge is to use powdered chalk with a stipple brush. I used the chalk with a little bit of paint on the paper that has the sentiment on it.
Powdered chalks can be purchased HERE

One Stitch at a Time Challenge #109

This week at One Stitch at a Time the challenge is to make something bright. I created my card using an image by Stitchy and when I first chose this image I must not have had my glasses on. Once it was sent to me I noticed it had witches hats on top of the cupcakes indicating it was a Halloween image. Another classic duh moment for me but I wasn't going to ask for another image because I rather liked the challenge of making it not a Halloween card.
I colored my image in using Copic markers and topped the cupcakes off with rhinestones by Imaginisce. I love how it turned out and think it goes to show that just because an image is intended for one thing you can make it your own and use it for something else.
The rest of my card consists of patterned paper by K&i Memories and Making Memories, glitter paper by DCWV, cardstock by Recollections and Making Memories, Flower ribbon by American Crafts, die cut (scallop circle and border) by Spellbinders, stamp by Fiskars and ink by Ranger Industries
I showed my husband this card and said "Do you think this is bright enough?" He gave me the look like are you serious?
Thanks for looking.

Today's card is inspired by our upcoming Easter holiday. Stamps {eggs, bunny and sentiment} are by Stamp N Plus Scrap N. I colored in the eggs and bunny using Powdered chalk and paint. The background of the die cut under neath the bunny is paint and chalk where I turned white cardstock into the color I wanted to match this card. Die cuts and borders are by Spellbinders. Some cardstock and one of the DP is by Recollections. The pink border paper is by GCD and the eyelet by Scrapworks.
Thanks for looking. Be sure to look at the specials going on at our chalk and stamp stores.

Blog Hop Day #1

Welcome to Chalk-Ah-lot cafe three day blog hop. If you haven't heard the latest buzz I'm here to tell you about it. Powdered chalk is the new medium to paint in images, make cool backgrounds, add that special sparkle to your projects and so much more. I LOVE using these chalks for so many of my projects and you could be the lucky winner of a chalk set per DT member. Be sure to visit and comment on each DT members blog and the Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe blog  for inspiration and a chance to win.

For my card I used the powdered chalk on the scalloped circle combined with paint and then brushed on with a stipple brush. You can see a bit of streaking with the chalk which is a fun feature in some of the colors. I then waited for the chalk to completely dry and stamped the sun with distressing ink.
The embossing folder is by Sizzix with cardstock by Recollections. Die cuts are from Spellbinders and Stampin Up.

The stamps are from our sister company Stamp N Plus Scrap N where you can find a variety of stamps. Right now under clearance you can get the following:

Manly Monday

I had a fabulous weekend scrapping with friends. I got so much done. I really just can't even believe it. I rarely get stuff done at crops.
So my card today is a little bit different but I have to step out of the box sometimes. The background paper reminds my of a helm. Idk who it is made by but it's fun and different. The label is by Martha Stewart with the stamps {sentiment and dotted line} by Fiskars and ink by CTMH. I cut the circle with my Cricut Storybook and the border stickers are by Creative Memories. Then the rest is a bunch of misc scraps from my stash. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Happy Monday to you all. {Boo...lol}
