Save the Purple Hello Card!

This card came to me in a bunch from Hubby's grandma. She knew that I liked to recycle cards and gave me every single card that she received.

The stamped front panel was also the card base and it was thin.
It had some damaged edges, a crease in the white cardstock, and missing rhinestones.

I started by cutting off the front panel with the stamping. I love the stamping she did and may try something similar someday.

Next, I matted the stamped panel onto two separate recycled cards.
Below you will see pictures of the 2 recycled cards.

I made the sentiment on my Cricut using a purple glitter pen onto vellum.
The vellum helps cover the crease.
I always use a Xyron sticker maker for vellum. It's the best adhesive for vellum that I have found.

Saving the Earth by Up Cycling Pretty Cards

I did some more up cycling with store-bought cards. These cards are so cut and paste.

I cut this cookie card front down and added the Creative Memories vellum sentiment.

Tada! Done with the first card.

Isn't this next card have a beautiful pattern? I cut it down and stamped the sentiment  by Hero Arts.

I just cut this next card down and planted it on a new card base.

This beautiful bouquet of flowers has great dimension but the card was huge. I trimmed it way down and then added the sentiment in the lower-left corner.

This last card was another cut and paste upcycled card.

Love tag with Heart Card

My stash of anniversary cards was low and so when I had the love supplies out for Valentine's Day, I whipped up a few easy anniversary cards.

The word "love" was a die-cut tag by Heidi Swapp. I trimmed the tag portion off the top and made it into a rectangle.
The red heart in the center was pink until I colored it in with Copic markers.

The patterned papers are from a Recollections pad at Michael's

WERQ Friend Christmas Card scrapbook layout

Here's another layout for my Christmas Photo Cards Scrapbook.

The word "Friends" is vellum and is by Creative Memories

The circle punches are by Creative Memories. The letters and numbers are SU stamps stamped into each small circle. The zeros are buttons

The red patterned paper is by Little Yellow Bicycle and the green paper in the center is by Provo Craft.

I wanted to cover up a seam in the center of the layout.
The translucent ribbon I pulled out was too see-thru. I needed something else to cover the seam but not take away from the green ribbon.

So I came up with this, I put the rick rack inside the center of the green ribbon and folded it in half.
I used a glue gun to adhere it all together and to the paper.

Valentine's Day Cards

I die-cut some more Valentine's Day cards using my Cricut.
This one was easy. I cut it out, inked the background paper, and glued it back together.

On this purple card, I used too much glue and it seeped out the side. I had to fix it by gluing a heart on top of the problem.

For the Love Struck Card, I stamped a background stamp onto the background with Versa Mark ink. I dried it with a heat tool before inking the inside card.

And then there's this one. Ugh!!
When I glued the sides down there was a lump between the two cardstocks. This is where I rolled my eyes.
It wouldn't come apart without ripping the paper.
Great!
I cut it down the edges which removed the bulge between the card and the inked background.
Everything was wonderful and
So I stamped the inside sentiment with black ink and when
I lifted that stamp off the card base and the card fells backwards onto the black ink pad.
Enter four letter words.
OMGoodness! Really?
Screw It! and I sent it out anyway. The little boy will be more into the stickers and maybe doing that with his hands than the card's F-up. The black on the wrist kind of looks like a bracelet.

The kicker...The mail lady didn't grab all of the cards I had put in my mailbox for pick up.
Sigh...
Sometimes you just can't win.

Time to wash my hands and move onto the next project.

Cricut Valentine's Day Cards

Here a couple of Valentine's Cards that I cut out using my Cricut.
It took a little bit of time, patience, and finesse to glue the intricate heart background onto the cardstock without glue getting everywhere.
I do love my Cricut when it cuts out designs like these so beautifully.

The sending stamp is by Lawn Fawn The bird stamp is by Stampin Up. I colored it in with colored pencils. The die-cut is by Spellbinders.
The pink LOVE sentiment is a Circut cut adhered to black cardstock.

For this next card, I used a Sizzix die-cut and inked the inside before taking the paper out. The "Sending" is a stamp by Lawn Fawn, the word "Paper" is an alphabet stamp set by Technique Tuesday and the word "Hugs" is a sticker by Flair.

The die-cuts are actually Creative Memories punches squares and circles. Stickers by Karen Foster. The fish brad inside the squares is by Around the Block. The fish-patterned paper is by Accord Publishing and I’m not sure about that background paper but from what you can see of it, it’s perfect for a guy-type layout.

Polka Dot Hi Upcycled Card

Such a simple card but it would brighten someone's day.

The polka dot pattern is from a thank you card.

The sentiment of the word Hi is a thick epoxy embellishment that fits into that circle perfectly.

All I need to do now is make a padded envelope.

Christmas Trees with long trunks Cards

I seriously do not know where these tree stamps came from.

If I'm not remembering, then I either stamped them with someone else's stamps, or the stamps are old and I don't own them anymore.

The first card uses a border punch by Fiskars

The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye and Provo Craft

The embossing plate in this card is an old way of dry embossing that I could do in my Cuttlebug but not in my Gemini.

The die-cut with diagonal patterned paper by Echo Park is an eBay die

I freehand drew the snow piles in the back of the trees and added some distress ink to make the sky blue. I colored the trees with Copic makers.
