Ugly Paper Group of cards.

You read that right. I don’t like this paper so I challenged myself to change its appearance. Challenge accepted.

I inked the patterned paper with distress oxide and then stamped hearts on the paper. I’m not sure the manufacturer. The love sentiment die is by Couture Creations. The sentiment stamp might be by the same company. I’ll look.

This card I covered the patterned paper with other patterned paper by k and co. The hearts are the negatives of a heart die.
There will be more ugly patterned paper cards

Glitter Background with Pink Overlay

I cut the pink background overlay with my Cricut and then glued it onto a piece of glitter cardstock by Sizzix

The sentiment is a vellum sticker that I die cut out of a Spellbinders die. While the paper was still in the die, I inked the top with pink distress oxide. The vellum acts as a mask creating a white ring around it. The black and white puffy stickers are by Studio Calico.

Floral Friday Rose frame card

I made this card with the "ugly paper" in the background, and layered patterned paper from Provo Craft on top. I'm not sure who makes the frame die or the sentiment stamp.
Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Bookbinding cards

The brick paper is by Recollections. The image is a cutout from patterned paper by Feature Art in Australia. I had to go around the edges with a dark grey Couture Creations alcohol marker to make them look even. Then I adhered it to black cardstock. The bracket is a Cricut cut, and it is lined with Tim Holtz jute.

The shoes die is by Scrapbooking Made Simple

Sympathy Cat card with a Gelli Plate background

The cat stamp on this card is by Newton’s Nook. I love the silhouettes in this stamp set. The black die cut is by Spellbinders. The outside frame is a piece of cereal board I cut out with my Cricut.

I created the background playing with my Gelli Plate…so I thought. Here’s the backstory, I have unmounted red rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs and I wanted to use them in my MISTI. So I bought a “Clear Mount Stamp” from Purple Onion Designs. It stands in place of the foam that is normally on the back of red rubber stamps.

Well, I misplaced my Gelli Plate and while looking for it I came across the said Clear Mount Stamp. It looks similar to the Gelli Plate so I grabbed it and went to a class by Alison Heikkila.

On this background, I used two colors and two types of paint and then waited too long to pull the print. It created a thick, messy, textured panel and what goes better with a messy background, a sharp silhouette image.

Floral Friday Llama Graduation Card

I stamped the llama image with black Memento ink and I colored it in with Copic markers. (See the colors I used in the photo below.) Then I adhered it to the top folding card on a card. When you lift up the llama card front, you see a graduation cap that I cut out with my Cricut. The orange ribbon is from Michaels. Funny thing, I tried so hard to conceal the ribbon behind the white flap. After fiddling with it and it wouldn't do what I wanted it to. When I closed the flap and I liked it better sticking out from behind. Then I had to fiddle with it and make it stick out more.

I heat embossed the background stamp with red, magenta, and orange embossing powders on white cardstock. Then I heat embossed a sentiment on a piece of vellum with Magenta embossing powder. I used a Xyron sticker maker to adhere the sentiment to the background.

Craft Roulette #268. Parameters: Project: A card for a student. This is a quirky graduation card for Maya. Colors: In modern. It's black and white with a loud color to carry the load and give it a pop.  Element: Clothing. The llama has a covering on its back, but you could count the graduation hat. Random: Abstract blob. The flowers in the background stamp by Hero Arts look like blobs.

The colors in this card are loosely based on this Color Cube card.
