Manly Monday Joe's 40th birthday card with Eyelets

The concept was good the execution was not so good. I really don't want to talk about this card because it took forever and it turned out so juvenile. I can't say I will do it again but can't is a strong word and I do have a few other ideas I want to try using my eyelets.

The paper tore at the VERY LAST minute. I didn't want to try and "fix it" and risk making it worse. UGH!

Paper Smooches Snowman Card

Remember when I said I wasn't going to be so chatty on my blog...hmm. The problem is I just get to "talking" to people that love what I love and then I have a hard time stopping. 

I'm trying to get cards/layouts/projects out of drafts, which sounds easy but...I'm not 100% sure that they weren't blogged about. I really don't want to have something posted twice on my blog so I take the time to do a little searching.

Anyway, 

The stamp is by Paper Smooches and I heat embossed it in black and colored it in with powdered chalk mixed with paint.

The sentiment in the left lower corner is a rub-on with included rhinestones from K and Co.

The die-cuts are by Spellbinders. I inked the inside of the white rectangle die-cut before removing the paper from the die.

Corner die-cuts might be a punch (?).

The green glitter polka dot patterned paper is by Doodlebug. 

The background paper is originally white with clear heat embossed snowflakes all around it. I thought it better to ink that paper with blue distress ink to bring the snowflakes to life.

>My guess is I made the 2 snowmen images at the same time but did not put them together onto a card at the same time.

I think the similar way the image was heat embossed and colored in with chalk, then die-cutting with the inking inside the rectangle leads me to believe that.

Manly Monday Cheers! Have a drink card

I could use this for a New Years' card if I sent New Years' cards. lol, I need it for my guy birthday card supply.

I used a stamp by Paper Smooches. I masked off the glasses with masking paper by Inkadinkado in order to have them overlap. 

I colored them in with colored pencils and put some Glossy Accents on the ice cubes.

I made the background with the same stamps in the set.

I stamped off first so the images would be lighter

The sentiment was cut with my Cricut

I'm mad at myself for not having posted this last week. 

I don't love this card but it has taught me what not to do next time. ;)

Day 3- Weekend of Dog Days of Summer cards

Last post for dog days of summer cards.

Patterned paper by Creative Memories. Die-cut bought on eBay. Brad by The Paper Studio.

I made a bunch of dog cards. On the first set of cards, I created the backgrounds with stamps by Paper Smooches and Stampendous with Distress ink, Die-cut by Spellbinders out of The Paper Studio patterned paper. Memento ink and Stampin Up ink.

I sprayed this first cad with Ranger gold mist and the patterned paper is maybe by The Paper Studio. I used Colorbox ink on the dog stamps with multiple colors. I created the layered look by inking the center with a light color and the outside of the stamp with a darker color.

Die cuts from eBay.

The corner punches on this second card look like EK Success. The sentiment is a punch by Martha Stewart. The dog stamp is by Paper Smooches. Paper Patterned by Dream Street Papers.

Day 2- Weekend of Dog Days of Summer

July 31st is:
National Mutts Day
But I'm going to include it into my weekend of dog days of summer.
I have a few of them to share today. I find I need pet sympathy cards and I hate to make one on the spot.
The black dog is also by Gina Marie Designs, paw print by Paper Smooches and heart by Stampendous with black ink by Hero Arts and red ink by Stampin Up. I bought the die-cut from eBay. I inked the inside of the die cut with distress ink. The patterned paper is by Paper Adventures and green by My Mind's Eye.

Peach Birthday Card

I have another repurposed card to share. HERE is the previous card and you can tell I didn't do much to make it into a birthday card. The yellow banner is a Stampin Up die that I stamped with a Lawn Fawn stamp. Then I added a glittery flower sticker by Martha Stewart. I stamped on the inside the Lawn Fawn word birthday and a Paper Smooches "To You" on a Spellbinders die cut.

Wish Big Birthday Card

I have a female birthday card today. The background has been stamped with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with copper embossing powder by Ranger. The image was heat embossed with white embossing powder and then colored in with distress markers. Then I die cut it out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink. 

The sentiments are by Paper Smooches with brown Stampin Up ink. The patterned paper at the bottom is by Making Memories and a Spellbinders border die. The ribbon is by My Mind's Eye.

Chilly Days Card

This card kind of makes me giggle because the background in this photo is beautiful and sunny unlike the card's title. 

The background is blue cardstock by Recollections and has been dry embossed with a Provo Craft folder. I inked the raised areas of the embossing with distress ink but I wasn't very happy with that look so I didn't continue throughout the background. The green cardstock is by Stampin Up and the blue on top of the green is by Bazzill. 

The snowman stamp by Paper Smooches was stamped with black Versa Color ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored him in with powdered chalk mixed with paint. I die cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside of the die cut with distress ink and an ink blending tool. I matted a lighter green scallop die cut behind the image before adhering it to the card base and finished by adding the sentiment sticker (Sticko/EK Success) as shown.

Baby Boy Shower invitations

Our family and friends have had a blooming spring time with a baby shower and baby born each month starting in January. I made two different shower invitations one for a girl and one for a boy. These are the invitations I made for hubby's nephew and beautiful bride the mother to be. Their theme was dinosaur with some dirt bike riding in there. 

Since this is a baby post I must share a tip with you that I never thought would be a problem. If you have an ultrasound picture from your pregnancy Do NOt laminate it because it will turn black. You will no longer be able to see anything that resembles a baby or ultrasound. You can imagine my horror when I did this to an ultrasound out of the book of a senior in high school. The Ultrasound was suppose to be part of my first page and now I have a huge hole to fill. I'm so mad at myself right now for not researching it first. It never occurred to me that it would be a problem. Ugh! Don't make the same mistake I did.

OK-Onto the invitations...the background for the first is by Her Arts and the other two by Stampin Up. I used a blue and grey ink both by Stampin Up for the backgrounds. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches and the dinosaurs are by Stampendous. I stamped the dinosaurs with black ink (Hero Arts) and colored then with distress ink (Ranger). The onesie is a Cricut die cut and the circle is a punch.

29 Again? Birthday Card

Today's card is a little different from my normal cards but I had to try something new to keep it real. I'm not one to do a rainbow colors. 

I stamped this background stamp by Hero Arts with Versa Mark ink onto Ranger's watercolor paper. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I used an array of different colored Ranger distress inks with water and a wide paint brush to create the colorful background. The flowers are Lawn Fawn stamps that I stamped and colored with Copic markers. I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the card with foam adhesive. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches stamped with Hero Arts black ink onto white cardstock by Recollections.

Manly Monday Clock

Welcome back to a late edition of Manly Monday. My husband and I decided to stay one more night at our cottage with just each other last night which meant no blogging. The cottage is not equipped with high-speed internet which is how it should be. It's a place to get away from it all. Not bring it all with you. 

My card for today is a small one using a card base size 3 1/2 x 5 by Coredinations. 

I'm not sure of the patterned papers manufacturer but the print one on top is die cut with a Spellbinders square die. 

The cardstock is by Recollections and the clock image stamp is by Tim Holtz with Stampers Anonymous. 

I stamped it with Ranger's distress embossing ink pad and heat embossed it clear with embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. 

Then to finish the card, I used washi tape by Darice, a circle sticker by Martha Stewart, and a sentiment stamp by Paper Smooches with Hero Arts black ink.

So anyway, here are the Manly Monday cards that I was able to round up. This time of year, there are so many Christmas cards that finding enough masculine cards to show you was a challenge. Shaped Christmas Card at the challenge blog Christmas cards All Year Round

There's a new challenge this month at Christmas Cards all Year Round that I hope you will join in and play. The challenge is shape cards other than square or rectangle.

I made this Christmas card using a Sizzix die cut by doubling up the cardstock and leaving a bit over the creased edge. It makes a beautiful top folding card. Then I die cut the red cardstock by Stampin Up and also the blue patterned paper from Simon Says Stamp. The snowman stamp by Paper Smooches is white heat embossed with Versa Mark ink and myStamp Box powder and then paper pieced together. The red patterned paper is by Scenic Route {very old indeed} and the black and also the white cardstock used in the card are both by Recollections. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts and is stamped with red Stampin Up ink. The foam sparkly snowflake thingies are from Hobby Lobby.

To You With Flowers card

I do love the font that Paper Smooches uses on a lot of their stamps. They are so fun to stamp on like a birthday card. That's what this card is for and it's a lot of the cards that I make. 

I used Bazzill patterned paper for the background and behind that is a 1940's photo cover. I'm redoing the old photos on my husbands side and love to find ways to repurpose something. I wouldn't be able to use it in a scrapbook page but have no problem using it on my cards. For the flowers, I stamped and heat embossed on vellum and then die cut them out with matching dies. I colored on the back of the flower with Copic markers. The color matches the patterned paper really well and I didn't plan it. Then I stamped the sentiment with Versa Color black ink.
