I inked the edges with white and then black

The black and gold glitter cardstock is by Recollections

Road Trip cards

ATC's with the theme transportation.

The arrows I cut out with my Cricut.

I painted them in with paint and powdered chalk.

The car stamp by TPC Studio was inked with Colorbox and Versa Color pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The stamps; road trip, exit  and go! are by Sizzix.

The other words are unknown rub-ons.

I inked the blue and the black edges with distress ink.

Chilly Days Card

This card kind of makes me giggle because the background in this photo is beautiful and sunny unlike the card's title. 

The background is blue cardstock by Recollections and has been dry embossed with a Provo Craft folder. I inked the raised areas of the embossing with distress ink but I wasn't very happy with that look so I didn't continue throughout the background. The green cardstock is by Stampin Up and the blue on top of the green is by Bazzill. 

The snowman stamp by Paper Smooches was stamped with black Versa Color ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored him in with powdered chalk mixed with paint. I die cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside of the die cut with distress ink and an ink blending tool. I matted a lighter green scallop die cut behind the image before adhering it to the card base and finished by adding the sentiment sticker (Sticko/EK Success) as shown.

Thanks a Ton Card

Today's card is so cute and I think a lot of fun. This fun whale stamp, spout and sentiment come from Clearly Besotted. I stamped the whale with Charcoal Shadow ink by Hero Arts and the image looks full and crisp. Love it! The spout is stamped with Stampin Up ink. For the border, I stamped it with Versa Color ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. 

I'm not sure if you've noticed that I never write the company of the clear embossing powder and it's because I had 4 semi filled bottles all by different companies and so to save on space (You know because those bottles take up a lot of space-silly I know) I poured them all into one container. I was surprised that it actually turned out fine. I was worried at first thinking I'm going to ruin the only clear embossing powder that I have and nope it was all good.

The border stamp is by The Paper Co with cardstock and patterned paper by Recollections. This card is a little bigger then I usually do. I made the card base with the darker teal cardstock which is 4 x 6 inches.

The die cut the whale is a Cricut cut from a freebie at Cricut Craft Room. The sentiment die cut is by Tim Holtz and Sizzix which is a great set for people just getting started with manual die cutting because it has the small sizes for sentiments and the larger ones are big enough for an image. You can die cut, emboss, and ink them even though they are not Spellbinders dies. They also work well for scrapbooking for say journalling or labeling a name or date below a photo. I also like the shield looking dies for masculine cards or layouts. So anyway, I just wanted to share with you a product that I really like.

Dog Sympathy Card Updated

My card today is a dog sympathy card. It is so hard to lose a dog/pet. They are a part of your everyday life much more than you realize.

I stamped the Gina Marie Dog stamp with Versa Color black pigment ink and let it dry. I die cut the dog out with a Spellbinders die as well as the next largest die of the set. I inked the inside of the dog's die cut with distress ink (Ranger). I die cut a scallop square and a rounded square adding distress ink to the latter. Both patterned papers are by Moxxie and the sentiment I printed from the internet.

You are How Old Cupcake

I have a quick and easy card for today. I'm using one of the Tim Holtz blueprint stamps as my focal image. I stamped it onto Strathmore watercolor paper with Hero Arts black ink and colored the cupcake in with Peerless Watercolors. I dry embossed a piece of scrap paper in green with a Cuttlebug folder which is kind of an old folder but still a good one for this image. The pink background paper is by Prima and the chevron is unknown. For The sentiment, I stamped it with Versa Color black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The sentiment stamp is by Stamping Scrapping.

New technique Easter card

I was made aware of the technique Pencil Eraser Stamping from one of the forums at Scrapbook.com. The technique was one of the many challenges last month. Here are the two sites she gave us to reference from: Artbar Blog and Cutesy Crafts. I thought it would be a fun technique to do with the church group I teach once a month. It was a success with them and they created some beautiful color combos and stunning results.

I die cut an egg shape with my Cricut and the cartridge Cricut Font and Basic Shapes. I made it an annoying color so there was no question as to the egg mask whereabouts. We used reposttionable adhesive to secure the egg die cut to the white cardstock. The sentiment can be stamped by either stamping it first and then laying the mask over it or after the egg has been stamped out. The ladies at church came up with and liked the idea to stamp it first so if they mess up the stamping there isn't much lost. Grab another piece of cardstock and try again. I personally liked the stamping the sentiment afterwards because when you start with your blank white cardstock you can plan and position the egg right where you want it. With the stamping first sometimes where you stamped isn't where you had intended the egg to go (too high or too low on the white cardstock gives a look different from the example) and have to work around that. The sentiment in this card is a very tight fit with the cross included and can be done both ways depending on your confidence in stamping. (Wow-that was way too long. I'll pick up the pace.)

The patterned paper is by K and Co with white and blue cardstock by Recollections, inks used for the egg by Colorbox and Versa Color, and then the cross is kind of unknown (I think it was made by Clear Dollar Stamps however I don't think they make stamps like this anymore. They may have gone all digital-but don't quote me on that one.) but I stamped it and the Hero Arts sentiment with black Hero Arts ink.

I used the Cricut to die cut the label and it's shadow that the dragonfly is on. The white paper is watercolor cardstock by Ranger Industries and the patterned paper is by American Crafts. I inked the stamp with black Versa Color pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. I used some unused distress inks, well that's kind of harsh, these inks have less table time then other colors. Anyway I used the distress inks with a water pen to color the image in-Aged Mahogany, Tattered Rose, and Frayed Burlap are some distress inks I do't grab a lot. The background paper is by is by Poppy Stamps, the ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment sticker is by Three Bugs in a Rug.

Manly Monday Grill Master

My card uses a grill stamp by Mark's Finest Papers. I stamped it on watercolor paper by Strathmore with Versa Color black pigment ink. Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I used distress inks and a water pen both by Ranger to color the image in. I trimmed the image down and decided to keep this card simple since it is for a guy. There are two piece of black cardstock hanging down from the top of the card and to the left. The one paper has a white core and the other a black core which you can see because I 

ripped the bottoms off. The patterned paper is by Rocky Mountain Scrapbook Company and the sentiment sticker is by Pebbles.

Woof Dog Card

This little dog card has some fun die cuts that I cut out with my Cricut using the Cricut Sampler cartridge. I cut the long white die cut also from the Cricut with the Lacy Labels cartridge. The cardstock is by Recollections and Provo Craft. The black rounded square die cut by Spellbinders is inked with Black Soot distress ink. The dog stamp is by Gina Marie and patterned paper by Moxxie. The ink I used on the dog is by Versa Color.

World Card Making Day Card 7

I have another card for World Card Making Day before it ends. This one uses a faux letterpress technique with a Cuttlebug folder and some Colorbox pigment ink on top. The patterned papers are by Papertrey Ink and the ribbon by Stampin Up. The stamp is a new one by Lawn Fawn that I stamped with Versa Color black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I colored him in with Smooch ink also by Colorbox, die cut him out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with Ranger's distress ink. I think he's kind of cute.

Christmas Cards All Year Round September

This month at Christmas Cards all Year Round the theme is 

"Country Christmas"

I must say this challenge is not one of my strong suits but I did make two cards for the occasion. The first one uses a set of three trees on one stamp by Stampin Up. I stamped them with Hero Arts black onto Ranger's distress watercolor paper. Then I colored the trees in with distress inks and a water pen. 

Once it was dry I trimmed the piece down 1/4 of an inch and matted it to green cardstock. Then to finish it off I applied a SRM Sticker to the front left.

My second card uses a stamp by PSX (circa 1995) that I stamped onto the same watercolor paper with black Versa Color ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. Then I colored it in the same way as above. The patterned paper is by Bazzill, felt ribbon by Oriental Trading Co, and brad by Around the Block.

Kitty Christmas

I was at a barn the other day with a friend that has a horse there. Also in the horse barn were barn kitties and I fell in love. I would have loved to take one home with me but my dog would probably eat it, says my husband. So no kitty for me except here on my blog. Do you have a cat and if so how old is it?

Welcome to our Church

Today is my last time posting as DT member at Through the Craft Room Door. Our challenge is sponsored by Doodle Pantry. I'm so amazed by the amount of things you get with their digi's. I decided to print out the crosses already colored in and die cut it out with a Lawn Fawn die. I took a small flower and placed it in the center of the cross which gave my image lots of dimension because if you take the wire of the flower it will fall apart. So I pulled the wire through to the back and used foam adhesive around the rest of the die cut. It works for this card because it is part of a welcome to our church basket and therefore won't be going through the mail.

My patterned papers are by Basic Grey and Jillibean Soup. The border die is by Spellbinders and the sentiment die is by Stampin Up. The welcome stamp is by TPC Studio that has been stamped with Versa Color pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. The cardstock in my card and card base is by Recollections.

For my card I stamped this Mark's Finest Papers grill stamp with Versa Fine black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. I used distress inks and Peerless watercolors to color it in. I die cut it out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink. The patterned paper in the background is by Die Cuts with a View and the cardstocks are scraps I had in my bin. The sentiment is a die cut from my Cricut. And that's all folks!

Sassy Studio Designs Tarzan's Jane card

Thursday means a new challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. This week's challenge is

Watch it fall - Use leaves on your project

I used Jane Honey {Near the bottom of this link}because I thought of her in the Tarzan movie and how they are surrounded by the jungle/leaves. I printed her onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic Markers. Then I die cut her out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside of the die cut with Distress Ink by Ranger. The background paper is by Best Creations and the polka dot paper is by Sassafras. The leaves in the image's background are stamps by Hero Arts stamped in Versa Color ink and fussy cut out. The sentiment is by Stampin Up with ink by Hero Arts and die cut out with a Spellbinders die. Lastly, the ribbon is by Pebbles.

This is a 5x7 card which is very rare for me and I can explain why; I sell my cards at a store and at my mom's craft show booth and both venues can only accommodate the smaller sized cards 4x5 1/2. So I never make the bigger cards because they just sit at my house collecting dust.

Sassy Halloween Card

This will be my last Halloween card this year. I had to show you what I did. Normally she is holding a cake and I wanted her to hold something Halloweeny like hey a piece of candy corn. The lady image is by Sassy Studio Designs, the candy corn and witches hat by Stampin Up and the sentiment by Gina Marie. The ink I used on the sentiment and hat is black by Hero Arts and the candy corn is Versa Color for the orange and yellow and Stampin Up white pigment ink. I colored the image in with Copic markers and then took the black marker and outlined her edges. The ribbon is from Michael's and the black cardstock is by Recollections. That is all I know about this card. I hope you like it.

Manly Monday Open Seas Boat card

Hi everyone. Welcome back to Manly Monday late edition.

For my card:

I love the Open Seas stamp set by Stampin Up for manly cards. I made one here Open Seas for a Manly Monday post a few months back and wanted to share the other one I made at the same time. 

I cut the sentiment out using my Cricut. In fact, it was a leftover from the previous year's calendar making that I do for family. It was the backside of a patterned paper that was very old and I inked the edges. The frame is stamped and heat embossed with the ledger stamp in the set. The ink is Versa Mark and the gold embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. The card base is by Recollections and I've distressed the edges with distress ink by Ranger and sprayed it with water. The boat image was stamped with Versa Color ink and after it dried I die cut it out with a Design Objectives die cut and inked the inside with distress ink before taking the paper out of the die. Then I put all the pieces together to make my card. 

 I took a fall on Monday and was forced to go to bed instead of doing my post. I'm OK. I just tripped over the dog and he's OK too. So

Christmas Cards All Year Round November

Christmas Cards All Year Round starts a new challenge today of no patterned paper on your Christmas cards.  For my card I dry embossed the holly leaves background, folder by The Paper Studio, and then I put green ink on the leaves and Smooch ink on the berries. The white cardstock is by Recollections and the green and red by Coredinations. The tree stamp is by Inkadinkado stamped with Versa Color green ink and the sentiment by Gina Marie ink Stampin Up red ink. There is a small red ribbon with a white dotted line at the bottom along with a jute by Tim Holtz and a button.
