Manly Monday Graduation paper clip Card

The patterned paper is by Karen foster and gold cardstock is by Sizzix. The embossing folder is by Darice. So what I did with this card was run the  I put both the patterned paper and white cardstock into the embossing folder and tan it thru my cuttlebug they would. This way I wouldn’t have to try and line them up together. The white gel pen by Sakura.the golden paper clip is unknown.

I don’t like top folding cards. I’ve handed out a lot of Christmas cards to the elderly and when they were given a card they would try to open it as a side folded card.

The other thing that I dislike with top folding cards is they don’t seem to stand upright, no matter what the thickness is of the cardstock. When you try to display them I find they do the splits.

So I put the paper clip in that spot so that they had to take it off and then they would lift it up. I made this card for the Craft Roulettee show on Friday nights.

The parameters were:

Project: A window, mine is the frame.

Colors: Bird colors, red, yellow, blue in the patterned paper.

Element: On the pond, the ripples around the word water ripples.

Random:Paper clip

Thanks for looking.

UPDATE:

I changed it.

Eat Lots of Cake/ no ice cream

I made this card for Craft Roulette #215
Project: Birthday card
Colors: Petting zoo
Element: Scoops
Random: Tabs

This card is such a joy to make that I might make more. For some reason I have a lot of those ice cream stickers. No one will know if I make duplicates of the same card.

Here’s the card with the tag out of the pocket. And then the next picture is the other side of the tag.

Here’s the other side of the tag.
The word stickers are by SRM stickers, the ice cream stickers are by Mrs. Grossman, the heart die cut are from Lawn Fawn, and the yellow circle border on the tag is by Doodlebug. I used a white square punch from Creative Memories to create the grid. The center squares are on dimensionals.

A Duet of Butterfly cards

I have two A2 cards using the same die cut in 2 different colors.

Let me know which one you like by leaving me a comment at the end of this post.

The sentiment die is by Memory Box.
After I glued the butterfly die cut onto the white cardstock, I noticed that my glue had seeped out from underneath the butterflies.

To fix that I took a soft makeup brush full of Jacquard powder and dusted it all over the card front.
I dusted under the butterfly wings so the texture was the same throughout the card.

Sloppy? I think it looks sloppy. Did this totally fix it? No, not really but I couldn’t throw it away. Consider lesson learned to have a lighter hand when applying the Bearly Art glue.

The patterned paper is by October Afternoon. I stamped, colored and fussy cut a butterfly stamp by Cloud 9.

Then I colored on the butterflies of the die cut for a tone on tone look and hoping to add some interest. I did outline one of them with a white gel pen. The sentiment on the inside said, “I’m here for you”. (Idk if anyone will get the symbolism)

So which one do you like better? Comment below.

Manly Monday Let’s Play Poker cards

The background paper is by Karen Foster. I die cut the hands from two different poker Cricut image sets. The simplest one is from an Old West image set. I had to put black and red cardstock behind the appropriate playing cards. The coin embellishment is from Me and My Big Ideas.

The other card has a more elaborate looking poker hand and it can be found in Cricut Design Space Father’s Day image set. I added a blue and read border sticker by Creative Memories only the width of the patterned paper and a second one below it spanning the entire card width. I needed a sentiment and so I found a sticker sentiment in my stash. I put it in between the two border stickers with a sticker dot in between the two words.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day.
