Star Graduation card

I made this card using paper by Karen Foster, MME and Creative Memories. The star shapes were cut out using the Cricut and a Quickutz die. The gold star in the center has been dazzled with gold metallic powdered chalk by Stamp N Plus. The star border was made using my Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge (border 1"x11" at size 1 1/2). I then cut it into two pieces to fit my card. The twine covers the seam giving it a seamless look. lol The sentiment is a tag sticker from way back in my stash using a stamp from The Paper Co, ink by Memento Inks and a brad by The Paper Studio.
Thanks for looking.

Stamp N Plus challenge-Owl Graduation Card

Our new monthly stamp challenge can be found at the
starting today and ending at the end of the month.

The challenge this month is to use black and white only on your creation. {The red in my card is my watermark}.

You are only allowed four entries for this month long challenge. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the month.

For my card my owl stamp I stamped it on black by using white craft ink. It takes a full over night for it to dry but well worth it. I then used a circle punch to give it shape. The sentiment are simply letters that I put in the circle. I eyeballed the whole thing. I like the way it turned out. Perfect for graduation season.

You can find the Owl stamp M970 & the alphabet letters at the given links. These rubber stamps are of fabulous quality producing a beautiful image every time.

Other Supplies:
Patterned paper by GCD, circles by Creative Memories Cutting System or punch, border punch by Fiskars and black ink by Tsukineko.

Be sure to visit the other DT members blogs for their wonderful black and white inspiration.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Cards All Year Round June Challenge

This month our at Christmas Cards All Year Round our challenge is:

TWINKLE-TWINKLE Lights - mulit-colored or clear, embossed or bling, strings or singles, vintage or new, bright or dull, broken or whole ...inspriation is limitless! Make it electric and fun. How about those BOLD colors of card stock we rarely use?

I used a stamp from a set of small stamps a student got me for Christmas many years back. I think from Michael's. My line of lights is a little bit off. It takes careful stamping to get rubber stamps to meet up. I colored them in with Copic Markers. The green patterned paper is by Echo Park. The edgibilities and label die cuts are by Spellbinders. Ink by Memento and Stampin Up. The sentiment stamp is by Elle's Studio. Brads are by Close to my Heart.

Be sure to join us for this month long challenge making Christmas cards. I am sponsoring the challenge this month with the prize below.

Stamp N Plus Sorry card

I'm always trying to figure out new ways to add ribbon to my projects without the adhesive showing through. I used Mod podge on this card to adhere my ribbon. I always start making a card by cutting a card front. Even if it's the same color as the card. The card front is what I work from and then adhere it to the card base once I am finished. This way nothing shows on the inside of the card like brads, eyelets, ribbon, sewing, etc. For this card I wrapped the lace around the card front using Mod Podge on both sides to make the lace stay put. The best part about it is it worked. I loved the way it turned out and would def do it again.
Stamp is in a set called Note-ables. It's a great mix of sentiments for all types of cards. I used patterned paper by DCWV, Spellbinders die cuts and Ranger Distressing inks.
Thanks for looking.

Anyway, my card today is featuring stamps and chalk by Stamp N Plus Scrap N.
The zig zag cardstock is painted with chalk and paint. I stamped the owl on black carstock using white pigment ink by Stampin Up.
Don't forget our congratulations challenge at Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe. It ends this Saturday, June 2nd.

Manly Monday

I have to tell you that from now on Manly Monday posts will not be approved by my husband anymore. His idea of manly is a lot more simplistic (stupid) then I wish to make my cards. I will continue to post a manly card on Mondays but not at the expense of an argument with the man.
This weeks card I used my Unity stamp again with the distressing inks as my painting medium. The embossed background is by Quickutz and the embossed sentiment is by Cuttlebug. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my sort of manly card. Boys are so....whatever:)

Thanks For Looking.

Black, Red, White Flower with a Pin card

I really love Saturdays. It's my favorite day of the week. Today's card was inspired by a new background stamp that I got on sale at Michael's. I heat embossed it and then used Ranger inks Barn Door and Fire Brick to make the paper red. Fun little layered flowers have a stick pin for an out-of-the-box thing for me. They were hiding in my stash for who knows how long. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

One Stitch at a Time

Thanks for looking.

Chalk-Ah-Lot challenge #9 continued

Chalk-A-Lot Cafe is holding a Anything Goes using powdered chalk from Stamp N Plus

Powdered chalks can be purchased at http://www.powderedchalk.com/. The owner of Stamp N Plus Scrap N is offering two free chalks for the price of shipping and handling of $4.99. Check out the website and choose a color you would like to have sent to you then the owner will send you one discontinued color as well. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to receive free chalk.

The great thing about powdered chalk is it can be used with so many different mediums, such as paint, water, glue, Mod Podge, petroleum jelly, etc. I really like to use the powdered chalk with paint and then pain my images as if I was an artist. You can add more to certain areas to get the affects of shading. My card below has a little bit of shading to it. The sweet hippo image can be purchased HERE.

Manly Monday

This week for Manly Monday I am using the same stamp I did two weeks ago. This time after I stamped and heat embossed the image, I used my distressing inks and tool to blend the color into the shirt. I then cut the shirt out and glued it on to the blue cardstock. I'm in love with this Unity Stamp and am so glad I bought it. The blue paper on the side is scored to create the lines. The sticker sentiment is by EK Success and would be perfect for a Father's Day card. Card base is by Halcraft.

TGIF

This week has been a crazy one. I apologize for the delay in posting new cards.
I work for this wonderful company called Stamp N Plus Scrap N and they have a BLOG that I will be posting to every Thursday with a new card/project featuring their stamps.
This is the same company that makes the powdered chalks that you see me use for Sundays challenge. We had a little shift in the DT and missed last weeks post. However this week I will be back on the Chalk-Ah-Lot blog posting a new challenge. I hope you will join us.
For yesterday I posted a card using the powdered chalks with paint and glue and Stamp N Plus sea shell stamp. I used a combination of blues chalks with paint and painted the background of the die cut and then greens for the other. The pop bottle paper is painted with powdered chalk and Elmer's glue to give it some sparkle. The sea shell stamp can be purchased HERE. Thanks for looking.

The owner of this wonderful company is offering a new color of chalk and a discontinued color of chalk for free. You just need to pay $4.99 for shipping. Shipping packages is really expensive but for free chalks to play our challenge at Chalk-Ah-Lot cafe I think you will be pleased.
