For a Mom Card

My card today is for Mother's day but I guess it could be for her birthday. The flower stamp is by TPC Studio and I've heat embossed it with white embossing powder by Stampendous and Versa Mark ink. Then I used my Peerless watercolors to fill in the flowers. I cut the stamp down in size so I could mat it with a Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. Then the background paper is by Stampin Up and the sentiment is a Stamp N Plus stamp in Hero Arts black ink.

Mother's Day Birdcage Card

Today's card is for a Mom this upcoming Mother's Day. The birdcage and bird stamps along with the bird dies are by Prickley Pear. I stamped the birdcage onto white cardstock by Recollections with brown Stampin Up ink. I fussy cut it out and colored in the leaves to match my paper with Stampin Up watercolor pencils. I then punched a whole in the top of the birdcage to set an eyelet with my Crop-o-dile. I ran this string (for lack of a better word) through the top and adhered it to the back of the patterned paper. The "string" is a find from my MIL's craft stuff when she went into a nursing home. The birds are tricky but I found that die cutting them first and then stamping the image was easier then vice versa. I cut out a ton of birds and then stamped them with different Stampin Up inks. I adhered the wings to the appropriate bird before adding them to my patterned paper. The sentiment stamp is a $1 aisle find from Michael's by Studio G and the patterned paper is by Crate Papers.

Grapes and Wine Birthday Card

There's a new anything goes challenge at Through the Craft Room Door. The sponsor this week is Oak Pond Creations. I'm using the wine digi stamp for my card today.

I printed the image onto Ranger watercolor paper and colored it in with Peerless watercolors. Then I matted the image onto SEI cardstock. The green patterned paper is by Echo Park and the card base is by Recollections. The sentiment is a stamp by Clearly Besotted in Hero Arts black ink.

So my card today uses a stencil by Dreamweaver Stencils.

Globe Stencil

I dry embossed it with my Cuttlebug and then inked the raised area with distress ink. I cut that piece out and matted it with a tan colored cardstock. The background paper is by Die Cuts with a View and I inked the edges of it. The sentiment is by Stampendous and I stamped it with Hero Arts black ink. The ribbon is by May Arts.

Be the Change card

I have a new graduation card for you today. The sentiment stamp comes from Unity Stamp Co and the circle stamp in the background is by im Holtz. I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it in silver. The circle stamps were stamped on the blue cardstock with Close to my Heart blue ink. The world stamp is old by PSX and I colored it in with different colors of distress markers before stamping it on white cardstock. I punched it out with a EK Success punch and then a black one out of the next bigger size. The graduation cap sticker is by EK Success.

This card is almost the exact same however I titled the blue cardstock on top of the black cardstock.

Deep Red Pink Chalk flowers

My card today uses a flower stamp by Deep Red Stamps. Unfornuately this stamp is a little bit harder to find. The only place was at Oozaks. The stamp is called Dianthus Chalk Flowers. 

So I heat embossed the flower with Versa Mark ink and Ranger Platinum embossing powder, Then I color the flowers in with Peerless watercolors with water and fine tip brush. I die cut the image out onto white cardstock by Recollections and a Spellbinders fancy rectangle die that I inked the inside with Ranger distress ink, Spun Sugar I think.

I placed my green cardstock down and started to load it up. The first layer is  pink piece of paper by Studio G that is embossed with a Cuttlebug swirly embossing folder. Next layer is the image it self and in the lower left corner there is a Sizzix die with a Pebbles sentiment sticker on top. Below the image I added a row of Washi Tape but I felt it need a little bit more to work with t embossing powder color. Hear is my solution; I placed a row of adhesive on each side of the washi tape. I took off the release paper and added some silver glitter to the exposed tape adhesive, I returned the release paper to the now glitter tape and burnished over the release paper with w bone folder, I repeated on the other side as well. What this does is keep the glitter o the adhesive and not over everything else like a boy. My husband hates glitter, smh.

Anyway, to get back to the card, I had these Recollectionsglitter dots in different colors. They were on sale at Michael's and I got them all. It was on! and I won-lol. I thought three was fitting for this lovely thank you card.

Vintage Santa Christmas Cards all Year Round May

This month at Christmas Cards all Year Round the challenge is vintage. My card uses patterned paper by Pink Paislee. I inked the edges with green distress ink and kept the Santa uncovered because he looks vintagy. The sentiment stamp is by Stamp N Plus which I heat embossed with platinum embossing powder and Versa Mark ink. I did all of that onto Strathmore watercolor cardstock. I inked the watercolor paper very heavily and then sprayed it generously with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. Last I adhered my sentiment to the card. Easy Peasy!

Sassy Ladies in Steampunk today

This month at Sassy Studio Designs I'm on the Facebook group and this month is steampunk. The image you see below is free to SSD FB group fans but they have to use the image by May 26th and post it in the groups photos. Then they have a chance at winning a gift certificate to the SSD store. Then the following month they can get the next image for free with the same instructions. If you get May's image and don't use it then you cannot get June's image for free. You either sit out for a month or you buy it to play along. Join the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook group so you're in the know.

I printed out the image onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut her out and adhered her with foam adhesive to white cardstock. I did use the silver Wink of Stella pen on the bolts of the frame and on her top. I put Glossy Accents on the lens of her goggles too. 

My card base is size 5x5 1/2. I took some Adirondack silver paint and applied it heavily to the edges of the white card front. The brownish patterned paper is by Tim Holtz that has been dry embossed with a Darice embossing folder. The sentiment is also by TH in Simon Says Stamp red ink and then I cut it a part inking the edges with Frayed Burlap distress ink. the two brads are by Eyelet Outlet and the hot air balloon die cut is by K and Co. The letters for the word "Hopes" are by Joann's.  

Then we have the Flashback Friday image which is Steam punk Amelia. I printed out the image onto Cryogen cardstock and colored her in with Copic markers and then die cut her out with a Sizzix die. While she was still in the die I inked her edges with distress ink. 

I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background of the card. I inked it with distress ink and then applied translucent embossing paste by Dreamweaver Stencils. After it was dry I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. 

The rest of the card came together with a die cut by K and Co, a metal suitcase embellishment by Bo Bunny, washi tape, a ticket by Memory Makers that I stamped a Tim Holtz stamp with Stampin Up brown ink. Amelia is adhereed to the card with foam adhesive by 3M.

Dreamweaver Stencil Last Post

Today is my last post with Dreamweaver Stencils. I would like to thank Lynell, my fellow design team members and Stampendous for this wonderful opportunity to create with such an amazing team of ladies and awesome products. It has been such a dream and a thrill to be a part of this team and to learn so many new things these past months. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My card today is going to my cousin for her upcoming bridal shower for our Shower to Shower challenge on the Dreamweaver blog. I used the Rain stencil  for my background by applying distress ink (Salty Ocean) with an ink blending tool and then came in with the translucent embossing paste to give it added dimension. I had left over paste with the blue already in it so I grabbed the Rain sentiment stencil and applied the left overs to it. You can tell the raindrops are darker then the sentiment because the sentiment didn't get distress ink before the paste. The cardstock is by Recollections and Coredinations.

Elsa Birthday Shaker Card

Welcome back on this Thursday for the Sassy Studio Design for the challenge of 

ANYTHING GOES

For our anything goes challenge I chose to pull out Elsa because she is so beautiful and people keep asking for cards with her in them. Well this one is a little bit more than an Elsa card-it's a shaker card too! Very fun for a young lady that may like the shake it when Taylor Swift comes on the radio. Just a thought:)

I did a card at the end of March where I was making a water scene for a fish which you can see HERE. While making the fish card I wanted the fish die cut out after taking all this time to apply blue distress inks to the rest of the cardstock. I threw the piece into the recycles. A week or so later I remembered that cardstock and pulled it to give it new purpose. 

The stuff I put into the shaker card is such old materials that I've been saving for a while in the hopes that a technique will arise where I can use them. The acetate is old from the school when teachers wrote on them as an overhead projector. That's been brushed aside leaving found acetate for a crafter to use.

The image of Elsa is small making her challenging to color with distress inks as watercolors. But I think she look awesome the way she is and so I die cut her out using the same shape die as the window. 

The word dies are by Clearly Besotted (happy) and PTI (birthday). The were die cut out of glitter paper by Recollections and glued on with Ranger's Multi Medium Matte.

Love 2 You Hot Air Balloon Card

My card today could be used for a couple of different occasions like anniversary, just because, graduation, or maybe even changing jobs. Heck it could always be a birthday card but I think I'll keep the inside of this one blank until that special occasion arrives to use this card.

The hot air balloon is a stamp by Unity Stamp Co. I inked it with red and brown pigment ink by Clearsnap onto off white cardstock that I got free from a friend. It has some flecks on it but it still works well. I die cut it out with a Spellbinders die and set it aside to dry while I configured the rest of the card. The red cardstock, embossing folder and the die cut "love" are all by Stampin Up. The brown cardstock is by Coredinations and has a small sparkle to it. I did layer two "love" die cuts onto each other but then I changed my mind on the dimension. The "2" die cut is by Dreamweaver Stencils and the "you" die cut is by Ellen Hutson. The final product in my card is the baker's twine and that is by Lawn Fawn.
