Butterfly in Yellow

My card today features the Deep Red Stamps butterfly stamp that I love so much. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with myStamp Box silver embossing powder. Using my Peerless watercolors I colored the image in and fussy cut it out. The two patterned papers in my card are both by Studio Calico. The ribbon is from my MIL's stash, sentiment die cut by Spellbinders, and sentiment sticker by Glitter and Glitz.

Welcome to our Church

Today is my last time posting as DT member at Through the Craft Room Door. Our challenge is sponsored by Doodle Pantry. I'm so amazed by the amount of things you get with their digi's. I decided to print out the crosses already colored in and die cut it out with a Lawn Fawn die. I took a small flower and placed it in the center of the cross which gave my image lots of dimension because if you take the wire of the flower it will fall apart. So I pulled the wire through to the back and used foam adhesive around the rest of the die cut. It works for this card because it is part of a welcome to our church basket and therefore won't be going through the mail.

My patterned papers are by Basic Grey and Jillibean Soup. The border die is by Spellbinders and the sentiment die is by Stampin Up. The welcome stamp is by TPC Studio that has been stamped with Versa Color pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. The cardstock in my card and card base is by Recollections.

You light up my Life

For today's card I am using a stamp set by Sweet Stamp Shop.I stamped the image onto white cardstock by Recollections with Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed it with Ranger blue glass embossing powder. I die cut the image out with a rounded edge square die by Spellbinders and inked the inside edges of the die cut. Then the die behind that is by DO Crafts out of patterned paper by Studio G. The yellow patterned paper is also by Studio G and the blue polka dot paper is by Creative Memories. I embellished with some blue sequins and star die cuts by Lawn Fawn.

For my card I stamped this Mark's Finest Papers grill stamp with Versa Fine black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder by Stamp N Plus. I used distress inks and Peerless watercolors to color it in. I die cut it out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink. The patterned paper in the background is by Die Cuts with a View and the cardstocks are scraps I had in my bin. The sentiment is a die cut from my Cricut. And that's all folks!

Saturated Canary Says Hello

Today's card uses a Saturated Canary stamp named Lovely. I ended up cutting the dress part off because I made a mistake and didn't want to waste the time I had into her upper body. The die cut is by Spellbinders and I inked the inside with distress ink that matched her top. The rest of the card came together easily. The patterned papers are by Basic Grey, Studio G, and Quick Quotes. The sentiment die cut is by Sizzix with Studio G paper, the sentiment stamp by Hero Arts and the ink by Stampin Up. I embellished with three different puffy flower stickers by K and Co.

Steampunk Friday with SSD

Here again it is Friday and I have a new Flashback Friday by Sassy Studio Designs card for you. The deal is for one week you can buy this image at a discounted price. This month is steampunk and if you have visited my blog before you know I don't really do that style of card making. It's been a little bit of a challenge but ya know what I did? I took all things that could be considered steampunk and put them in a basket so whenever I go to make my whatever this week I have everything in one spot. Funny thing is I have a whole basket of stuff to use. I was shocked at how much I have. 

Anyway, This card is a little bit bigger 5 x 6.5 and the black cardstock is by Recollections and the background paper is by Tim Holtz Idealogy line. The cogs and gears are dies by Spellbinders and I cut them out of GCD Studios black patterned paper and Die Cuts with a View glitter paper. I adhered some of them with foam adhesive by Stampin Up and some a little bit higher by EK Success. The black lacy pattern at the bottom is tape I found at Dollar Tree and the sentiment is a sticker by K and Co.

I printed the image out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers. It's not perfect but I'm OK with that. I die cut them out with Spellbinders die. I did use a gold Wink of Stella pen on the buttons, cogs, and straps in the image.

Butterfly Congratulations

I have a lot of pink card for you today. As you know I love this butterfly stamp in pink by Deep Red Stamps because I've used it HERE, HERE, and HERE. 

I stamped the butterfly on to Recollections white cardstock with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with silver Hero Arts embossing powder. I also embossed another one with different embossing powder to see which one I thought covered and embossed better. With the better embossed butterfly, I used a blending tool and distress ink {Worn Lipstick} to create an ombre effect. Then fussy cut it out and sprayed it with water mixed with Perfect Pearls to give it some sparkle. I cut down the other butterfly image and inked the edges of the cardstock. 

The card base is 4 x 5 1/2 pre-made by Recollections and I adhered a border die cut sticker by Crate Papers to both sides. The patterned paper is from a stack however I bought it at an outlet store and it had no cover on it to identify the manufacturer. It's thin paper which makes me think it's not DCWV. Anyway, I adhered the patterned paper to the center and then I taped the other butterfly to the top portion. Then I added a gem by Eyelet Outlet to the left lower corner and a sentiment sticker by Karen Foster below it. I adhered the ombre butterfly on top of the other butterfly with foam adhesive by EK Success.

Thinking of you Card

I made this thinking of you card for a special lady at church who had lost her mother. I really liked the way it turned out and wanted to share it here. Unfortunately, I only have the one photo and it's not the best photo at that. 

I started with the lightest cardstock by Bazzill and layered on top of it Creative Memories cardstock-I'm no sure the name of the color or if they even still carry cardstock so we'll go with that's not that important to know. Then the patterned paper is by K and Co and the darker cream cardstock in the scallop circle is by Color Aid. The image is a stamp by Stampin Up with antique Linen distress ink. I used that same color on the edges of the Bazzill cardstock. The sentiment stamp is by Just Rite and the ink by Hero Arts with the scallop circle dies by Spellbinders.

Sincere Sympathy

So I recently made a set of cards that are all a little different but use the same technique. I stamped the white paper with a background stamp in a permanent brown dye ink and let dry. Then I heat embossed a tree image on top of the background with Versa Mark ink and white embossing powder. I die cut the image out with a Sizzix die and then I inked the die cut with green and brown distress inks. I didn't really take the time to blend the colors well because what I was mostly going for was the resist of the tree image. I sprayed the die cut with a dash of water and it all just came together beautifully. 

I believe the background stamp is by Hero Arts, tree stamp by Stampin Up, and the sentiment by Stamp N Plus. The patterned paper is by October Afternoon (brown polka dot) and Basic Grey (green strip in the middle).

I'm not usually a one to use sketches but this one was perfect for what I was doing and so I went with it.

I used a Tim Holtz blueprints stamp of a globe by stamping it with Versa Mark ink and heat embossing it with Ranger Platinum embossing powder on watercolor paper. I colored the image in with Peerless watercolors and a water pen by Ranger. Then I die cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and inked the inside with distress ink by Ranger. Patterned paper: The striped paper is an old one from my stash, the polka dot paper is by October Afternoon, map paper is from a paper pad named Danny O by K and Co and the background paper is by Tim Holtz Idealogy. I used some gray and white cardstock by Recollections for the strip going across behind the globe. The compasses are die cuts from my Cricut and the cartridge Wall Decor and More. I inked them with distress ink by Ranger.

Mom's Day Dog Card + A Giveaway

Seeing how today is Mother's day in the US I am posting a dog card for two reasons; 1.) I am only a mother to my dog and 2.) My mom loves dogs. She would rather see/hold/pet a dog or puppy more than hold/play with a baby. I think that is a little extreme but hey whatever floats her boat. 

Anyways, onto my card. I'm using a new Gina Marie Pets Cats and Dogs stamp set. I inked the dog with a Colorbox pigment ink and let it dry overnight. Then I die cut it out with a Spellbinders fancy rectangle die, inked the inside with distress ink by Ranger, and matted it onto two Cricut dies. The sentiment was on the internet so I printed it out on white Recollections cardstock. The background paper is by Nikki Sivilis and the red bone is a brad but I'm not sure by who.

April came, April went.

I sent this card to two friends of mine that we said we would get together every other month and we didn't. The one sent me a text the very next day and we got the other one to join us too. It really is healthy for each of for different reasons to get out and have some girl time. The last time we got together my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much. 

My card design was simple and effective. Got love that. The die cuts are cut out from my Cricut and the Wall Decor and More cartridge. The words are alphabet letters by Lawn Fawn. The card base is white cardstock and the black cardstock are by Recollections. The patterned paper is by Bazzill.

Steampunk tag

I'm here today for Sassy Studio Designs Flashback Friday. We are all about steampunk this month and it is kind of fun to try a new style. I made a tag with this week's image. 

First I embossed the top of the tag with a Darice embossing folder and then on the bottom I stamped a bunch of wheels and cogs by Prickley Pear. I covered the seam with some Darice washi tape. I used some distress stain to cover the stamped area and the around the edges of the embossed area. 

I printed the image onto watercolor cardstock and colored her in with Peerless watercolors and water mixed with Perfect Pearls. I cut her down to the size she is and distressed the edges before adding her to the tag. I finished the tag with a Glitzy sentiment sticker.
