Sketches in Thyme Project Life

It's my turn at Sketches in Thyme Project Life challenge blog. Here is the sketch and what I did with it:

For my card I started with off white cardstock by Recollections and stamped a dotted square stamp by Fiskars with brown SU ink. I die cut the Die Cuts with a View patterned paper with a Spellbinders rectangle die. I used a Cloud 9 Designs quote stamp for the sentiment and added brown cardstock (Coredinations) corners to the edges. Those edges have been stamped with a Weathered Wall Deep Red Stamps background stamp with brown ink. I added a Jenny Bowlin banner to the card with the baby's name on it.

For the rest of the pocket page I used patterned paper by Crate Paper and Die Cuts with a View. I stamped labels on some of the cards with a small alphabet stamp and brown ink both by Stampin Up. I continued to add the brown Weathered Wall stamped image around some of the squares by way of the corners or I used a strip of it on two photos. In the bottom right corner besides the baby's name I stamped Holy Baptism (Mark's Finest Papers) and then the cross (Clear Dollar Stamps) with the same ink and on the same paper.

Christmas 2004 Layout

There's a lot more to this LO then it looks like. I tend to get bored easily and like to try new things to keep interested in layouts and cards. Sometimes I step out of my comfort zone and dabble into the unknown.

The background behind the photos is a mix of different things. I used an ink blending tool by Ranger with SU red ink on a The Crafter's Workshop dot stencil. I then inked the sides with green distress inks and painted the edges with a mix of white paint and Stardust chalk both by Stamp N Plus.

The rest of the layout consists of border patterned paper by Die Cuts with a View, cardstock by CM, Recollections and Sunborn, and some die cuts cut by Cricut. I added some snowflake stamps in the center. I stamped them with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed them with Ranger's red embossing powder.

Here's the "pretty" background.

Manly Monday Moose

For my Manly Monday card I used a sample from a furniture store. It was cut with pinking shears on both sides and I trimmed the top and bottom so it looks like it is frayed. The die cuts the moose stamp (SU) is on are by Spellbinders. I inked the inside of the white die cut with Tea Dye distress ink and an ink blending tool both by Ranger. The cardstock used on this card are all by Recollections and the background paper is unknown. The tag is a Cricut cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge and the baker's twine is by Fashion Naturals (dollar store). The sentiment is by Just Right stamps and the ink in both stamps is Chocolate Chip by Stampin Up.

The yellow on the tag is painted with Pebbles yellow paint and then stamped with a Lawn Fawn stamp with Hero Arts black ink. The semi circle on the left, the word is stamped with a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp called Harold. The tag in the lower right has been stenciled with a The Crafter's Workshop that I sprayed with Smooches Spritz yellow spray and then stamped with the same alphabet. The title is from Pack Your Bags, the date by Don Juan, VA Beach tag and semi circle by CTMH Art Philosophy,

For You Chalk Markers Card

I made this card using Chalk Markers by Chalk Ola. I started by painting the chipboard with chalkboard paint by Plaid. I used the marker over a stencil by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is a die by Lawn Fawn out of white Recollections cardstock. The green cardstock is a scrap from my stash and the black is by Recollections.

Wheatland Layout

I made this layout for my nephew's scrapbook. I made the background paper with a The Crafter's Workshop stencil, an ink blending tool and a rainbow of distress inks. I ended up doing 4 or more different versions of with this stencil. I was trying to match the background in the of the center photo without taking over. I hope I accomplished that. The title was made with CM alphabet stickers and the music notes are a Cricut cut and I put black dots in

There are a lot of Cricut cuts on this side. The pocket cut from the cartridge Bits and Pieces. The tabs by Art Philosophy and Small Talk and Frames. The date by Cricut Craft Room Basics. There are many pictures of the boys father which I didn't want to add to the LO so I made a pocket to put them in. Then it's the nephew's choice to pull them out and look at them. I die cut the pocket but then covered it up with pictures. So I included a photo of what it looked like at the end of this post. Some of the paper is old and I think it may be by Die Cuts with a View but I'm not positive on that. Some of the papers are by CM with cardstock by Coredinations and Recollections.

Sassy Studio Designs Thurs challenge

This week at Sassy Studio Designs the Thursday challenge is

Anything Goes

For my card I decided to use the Hans Honey image. I printed him out and colored him in with Copic markers and colored pencils. I printed the sentiment from the internet. The white cardstock has been embossed with two embossing folders at the same time. The embossing folder on top consists of cogs (by Darice) and the one on bottom features arrows (Cuttlebug). (I'm really into arrows lately) The middle paper that hides the gap in the white cardstock is a space ship pattern by Karen Foster. On that patterned paper I stamped some gages/odometer looking things by Oriental Trading Co. I stamped it with Versa Mark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.

Thinking of you

Today's card uses the black magic technique. I stamped the SEI flower stamp with pigment white SU ink and then when it was dry I colored it in with SU colored pencils. The cardstock is by Recollections and the patterned paper is by Sunborn. I die cut the title from the Cricut but I can't find the cartridge and the ribbon is from my stash.

Swimming Layout

A new layout today uses a kit by Queen and Co but I added a few things to it. The two tags, one with a bikini and the other with swim trunks, were cut with my Cricut and the Life's a Beach cartridge. I set a splash eyelets to each of them. I also added labels of who each kid is by using an alphabet  stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I also added some circle stickers by Sticko/EK Success.

The other side of the layout was basically done with added touches such as the Cricut cut date. I think it is the cartridge Cricut Basic Font and shapes. The circle is stamped with a Close to my Heart stamp with Colorbox pigment ink. Then the center of the circle is a splash eyelet same as the left side. I also added the same Sticko/EK Success circle stickers to the bottom because there was originally these large, bulky rhinestone butterflies that I had to replace with flat stickers. Everything else is by Queen and Co.

Manly Monday Smile

My card today features a scene stamp by Stamp N Plus. I colored the image with distress markers and sprayed the stamp with water before stamping it onto watercolor paper by Ranger. Then I sprayed the stamp again with water, without re-inking it, and stamped it down. This is the image from the second stamping. The patterned paper is unknown but the Kraft cardstock is by Oriental Trading Co. I did ink the edges of the image and also the sentiment stamp. The sentiment is stamped with Ranger's distress ink Gathered Twigs.

Black Cats Cards

Today's card is for you cat fans out there. I would love to get a cat but my husband has a hard time with cat hair. So I'll stick to stamping them for now.

The cat stamp by Gina Marie and I've stamped it with black Versa Color ink onto white cardstock by Recollections. Then I die cut it out with a Dreamweaver Stencils Nesting Die. I die cut the bowl with my Cricut and the Cricut Sampler cartridge. The paw patterned paper is by The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby. I got the the sentiment online and printed it out. I think the aqua patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and the cardstock behind the patterned paper is by Provo Craft.

Then this one is a little bit simper and uses the same products as above, just no added color and the sentiment is by Die-Versions die cut with Recollections glitter paper.

Have a Safe Trip Layout

This LO is another one for my nephew’s book. I'm not sure who the paper is by but I inked the edges with Tea Dye distress ink and an ink blending tool. The stamps alpha by Lawn Fawn with Stampin Up ink. The plane and the title are from the Cricut cartridge Everyday Pop Up Cards. I'm not sure about the clouds.

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking.

You are How Old Cupcake

I have a quick and easy card for today. I'm using one of the Tim Holtz blueprint stamps as my focal image. I stamped it onto Strathmore watercolor paper with Hero Arts black ink and colored the cupcake in with Peerless Watercolors. I dry embossed a piece of scrap paper in green with a Cuttlebug folder which is kind of an old folder but still a good one for this image. The pink background paper is by Prima and the chevron is unknown. For The sentiment, I stamped it with Versa Color black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The sentiment stamp is by Stamping Scrapping.
