You're the best mom

Mother's Day is right around the corner. Here is one I made using patterned paper by Basic Grey with a flower by Imaginisce. The sentiment is by the G Studio which I heat embossed in white. Behind the sentiment  I glued sequins in a row for added interest.

I hope you like it.

Manly Monday Earth Day edition

I thought since today is Earth day I would show you some cards I made using recycled items.
For my first card I used the clear plastic that your stickers comes on with blue alcohol ink from Ranger. I save my pieces to use on future projects. The background stamp is by Hero Arts, boom box by Imaginsce, with the headphones by Stampibilities. The notes are stickers from The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby and the Dad stickers are by Creative Memories. I use Making Memories eyelets on the corners. I think eyelets are a manly item. The ink I used on this card is by Stampin Up (white) and Hero Arts (black). The headphones were cut out and the boom box was cut out using a Spellbinders die.

My second card is very CAS but I like it. I used a Monster tab from a can as my embellishment. I don't usually use ribbon on my manly cards but sometimes you have to break the rules. The stamp and ink are by Hero Arts. I then used Offray ribbon across the top and bottom. The pop tab is up on foam adhesive with the ribbon wrapped around it. I tried to hide the ribbon underneath the lower part of the tab. It took some messing with but I finally got it to look like I wanted it to. I love the splash of green for this card and my husband loved how simple it was.

Adventurous Masculine Card

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge travel or cityscape. I love these two sets of stamps from Unity Stamp Co. They are always running specials through Facebook or Twitter. Keep you eyes on them and they will offer low prices for fun stamps plus give you a prize for spending money.

I stamped the map out onto kraft cardstock by Oriental Trading Co. The black cardstock is by Recollections. I inked some of the edges with distress inks/ The black ink is a wonderful die ink for crisp stamping goodness. Love It!

The woodgrain paper is by Recollections and the circle paper by DCWV.

To My Mother

I used this flower cart stamp on Wednesday's post for the chalk challenge at Chalk Ah Lot. It's great to see the versatility that using stamps can accomplish. Check out the post HERE. I'm big into making Mother's Day cards lately. I sell quite a few cards this time of year and Stamp N Plus has great images for any type of mom.
For my card I chose to use words from the sentiment stamps by combining them together. The stamp set can be found below if you would like to purchase it.
I used a doily by Little Yellow Bicycle, patterned paper by Basic Grey, flower by Stamping Scrapping, ribbon by Offray and a die cut from my Cricut. Thanks for looking

The letter stamps are by Lawn Fawn and the baseball stamp is by Stamp N Plus.
The die cuts were cut out using my Cricut with the exception of the circle punch in the center of the brown and the baseball is also a punch. Both punches are by Creative Memories. I hope that made sense:)

Christmas Cards all Year Round Mid Month

Be sure to make a Christmas card with a Christmas tree on it and link up at Christmas Cards All Year Round for your chance to win a lovely prize. It's the perfect time to get started on Christmas 2013 cards. Everyone knows how busy life gets in November and December. Starting early could get you one step ahead of the rest.
For my card I stamped the Inkadinkado tree with Versa Mark and then heat embossed it with powder by Stampendous. The background paper is by The Paper Studio and the red polka dot is by Scenic Route (old). The borders on the side are die cuts by Spellbinders. I die cut the white border and then embossed it with a folder by Darice. The cardstock is by Making Memories and Recollections with the sentiment stamp by Stampin Up.

Manly Monday

I have a sympathy card for a male today. This one uses patterned paper by Stampin Up. I stamped a Hero Arts stamp on it in two different colors. Then I used some patterned paper by October Afternoon for the sentiment. The sentiment stamp is by Fiskars with ink for the entire card by Stampin Up. The tiny leaf to the left of the sentiment is a punch by Creative Memories. I punch it out of brown cardstock and then painted it with clear crackle paint. I love the look of crackle paint on leaves. Chalk Ah Lot challenge cards

Here are two cards today for the challenge at Chalk Ah Lot Cafe. I used the same embossing folder but was able to get to different looks. For the first card I painted the embossed area with powdered chalk colors Dandy the darker yellow and Sunshine the lighter yellow mixed with paint all by Stamp N Plus. The green stems and leaves colored powdered chalk is Lime and Mossy Green.
Embossing folder by Darice
Ribbon by Offray
Blue paper by Scrapworks
Label by Stampin Up
Sticker sentiment by K and Co

For the second card I used the streaking property of the powdered chalk to create a shadow for each flower. I think I like the look of the gradual dark to light painting from this card and the blue skies from the card above. The sentiment stamp in this card is by Stamp N Plus and can be found HERE.
Patterned paper by Provo Craft
Label die by Spellbinders
Eyelet by Making Memories

Sequined Mom

Sequins are hot right now. I happen to have a bunch in my stash from years of teaching dance although I did have to buy some purple and brown sequins to make a few Mother's Day cards.

I glued the sequins onto the back of a heat embossed sentiment using multi liquid glue by Tombow. I used Versa Mark ink and Stampenous embossing powder on this Studio G sentiment on Bazzill cardstock. It's a fun look that I love how it turned out. The background paper is by Colorbok-love the color, the strip of patterned paper behind the flower is baby paper from K and i Memories and the flower is by Imaginisce.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

Grunge Bookmark

Check out my Manly Monday post HERE

For my second bookmark for Mark's Finest Papers, I used chalk ink by Colorbox on a background stamp by Stampin Up (canvas) for the bottom portion of the card. I was going for a grunge look with this stamp. The circle stamps are by Papertrey Ink and I used ink by Close to My Heart and Stampin Up. The small letter stamps are by Stampin Up. The tassel was in my stash from many years ago. I set an eyelet at the top and strung the tassel through it.

Manly Monday

For this week's post I have a bookmark to show you. I made it for the challenge at Mark's Finest papers. My nephew has been asking me to make him a bookmark and so this challenge was the perfect kick in the behind I needed.

For this bookmark I heat embossed the music instruments stamps by Stampibilities with Versa Mark ink and black Stampendous embossing powder. Then I used blue distress ink to change it's color. The circle at the bottom right reminded me of the inside of a speaker. The stamp is by Papertrey Ink with ink by Ranger. The PJB (his initials) stamps are by Stampin Up with ink by Close to My Heart.

My card for this week is for the upcoming holiday Father's Day. The patterned paper is by DCWV Guy Stack. I inked the edges with Ranger distress ink and an ink blending tool. The brads are by The Paper Studio and the burlap is from my stash. I used foam adhesive on the title. A very easy card for the fix it kind of guy in our lives.

Chalk Challenge #33

I'm posting this card for the chalk challenge at Chalk-Ah-Lot. The challenge is more than one flower with chalk. I used stamps, powdered chalk and paint by Stamp N Plus. The flower stamp is not on the website but can be ordered by calling Luann at 715-271-1873. The sentiment is in a set that can be found HERE.

For my card today I combined powdered chalk and paint together and painted in the image. I love the look of this powdered chalk technique. I used Hero Arts Black ink for the stamps. This ink works great for the mixture. No smearing. The background paper is by Basic Grey (Serendipity) and the other patterned paper is by MME. I used a Fiskars border punch for the decorative edge. The black paper is packaging to my Darice embossing folder. I'm always looking for ways to recycle especially as we get closer to Earth Day.

Thanks for looking.

To my Mom

Today I'm featuring sentiment stamps by Stamp N Plus.

Check out their website HERE and the blog HERE.

I made this card using some die cuts cut out from my Cricut. It's the Lacy labels cartridge, which I haven't touched since making this card. I sprayed the top die cut with Glimmer Mist and then popped it up with foam adhesive. The patterned paper in the back of the label is by Making Memories, on top by The Paper Studio and bottom by Recollections. The ribbon in the middle is by Karen Foster. For the sentiment I placed the three stamps on a n acrylic block and stamped them on scratch paper until they were straight. The ink I used for this card is by Colorbox.

This sheet of rubber stamps is not on the website as of yet. Call if you would like to order it 715-271-1873. Tell Luann that Cindy sent you.

Happy Birthday card

Quick post today. Crazy busy work week - glad it will be over soon.
For my card today I used patterned paper by MME and Basic Grey. The cardstock for the flower is by Recollections which I cut out using my Cricut-Idk which cartridge though. The flower like petals on the outside of the pink flower are heart punches that I curled down to work with the rolly flower. The center of the flower is a glitter dot from Recollections, leaves by Prima, ribbon by Offray, doily die cut by Martha Stewart and the border on the left is by Mr Tim. The flower sits on a Spellbinders die cut. I stamped, heat embossed and used my distress ink Spun Sugar to make it all pretty. The background stamp and sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts.

Deepest sympathy

I adore this stamp by Hero Arts. It's an older one but I still love to use it for multiple occasions. I colored on the rubber stamp with my distress markers. Then I sprayed the stamp with water and stamped onto water color paper by Strathmore. The background is dry embossed from a Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. I stamped it onto a Spellbinders die cut, matted it onto a yellow die cut a little bit bigger and then cut the bottom off. The butterfly is a punch that I borrowed from someone at a crop many moons ago. Thanks for looking.

Christmas Cards All Year Round

Christmas Cards all Year Round April challenge started Monday and the theme this month is O' Christmas Tree.

For my cards I chose to use the same tree stamp from Stampin Up. I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder and then used different inks to resist the embossing. All were sprayed with a water with Perfect Pearls by Ranger and embossed with Versa Mark ink and Stampendous embossing powder..

For this first card I used Forest Moss distress ink. The patterned paper is by DCWV (old), felt ribbon from Oriental Trading Co and buttons from my stash.

The ink I used for my second card is very old (like 1990's) by Excelsior. I Googled the name and they are still in business. Amazing after all these years. The patterned paper is by The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby, sentiment stamp by Hero Arts, ink by Stampin Up and brad by American Crafts.

For this last card I used a Stampin Up ink pad, Green Galore. The border punch, sentiment stamp and cardstock also by Stampin Up along with a Provo Craft embossing folder finish this card up.

I didn't have many distress inks at the time when I stamped these out. I have a tendency to stamp a bunch of things out and then set them aside. These trees are a prime example of that.

Thanks for looking.

Best wishes/Happy Birthday

I used the We R Memories Keepers ribbon thing to create the line in the center. Then I stamped on scraps of white paper the two Hero Arts sentiments Best Wishes and Happy Birthday. I'm not sure I love the diagonals but they are growing on me. The background is a Hero Arts stamp that I heat embossed using white embossing powder. Then I took my ink blending tool and distress inks to make it the tan in the center and darker towards the edges. I matted that piece onto some brown cardstock.
Thanks so much for looking.

Eggs in a Row Easter Card

The Easter with chalk challenge is still going on at Chalk Ah Lot. Here is another Easter card to share using paint and powdered chalk by Stamp N Plus. The egg stamps can be found HERE. I masked some of the eggs to create this line of them. Then I painted them with chalk and paint to give them their color. I did this on watercolor paper by Strathmore using Hero Arts black ink. They both work fabulous with the qchalk-paint mixture. The patterned paper is by Creative Memories.

Thanks for looking.

Anniversary Wishes

I made this anniversary card for a brother and sister-in law for next month. I doubt any of his family visits my blog which makes me think that posting this card is pretty safe. If they do come to my blog a nice comment would be appreciated every now and then. Lol. I made this card with an envelope in mind so it's not my usual 4x5.5 size card. I have a ton of misc envelopes that are taking up precious space in my studio. Time to use them up.

The white die cut is by Spellbinders. While it was still in the die I inked the center of the circle with Antique Linen distress ink. The sentiment stamp is by Papertrey Ink and the leaf stamps are by Stampendous. The ink used for these two stamps is by Stampin Up.

The patterned paper is by K and Co, cardstock by Oriental Trading Co (kraft) and Hobby Lobby (brown). The lace is a sale item from Michael's that I couldn't resist. It's like self adhesive lace. What's not to love about that? The border punch is from Stampin Up and the pearls are from Want 2 Scrap.

Manly Monday

A thinking of you for a gentlemen today. I borrowed the lighthouse stamp from a friend. I think it is from The Paper Co but I could be wrong. I colored on to the stamp with distress markers from Ranger and then stamped it on the off white cardstock. The sentiment is by The Paper Co in brown Stampin Up ink on a scrap of brown cardstock. The patterned paper behind the front piece is by Stampin Up. It resembles a wood grain with some blue added to it.

Some fun guy cards I found this week:
