December Calendar Layout Mom and Bob's Chair

Red neck chair skiing. PP-Creative Memories. The black and cream striped ribbon is by Stampin Up. Label case by Making Memories, stamped the title using OTC stamps, and brown ink by SU. This layout is from the 2019 cottage calendar. That is my husband and I did not sign a waiver for him to do this but I did sign life insurance papers. I'm totally kidding. Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Merry and Bright Cards

Christmas Cards with black ribbon on top of every other white stripe. My friend said it looked masculine and therefore, I decided to make it today's card (s). I put eyelets in the tags that I can hand cut out of the sentiment sheet from the same paper pad. I had cut off the bottom of this tag because it had the words to and from on it. In order to continue the look of a chalkboard, I would use a white pen around the edges.

I turned a Fan into Butterfly on my Scalloped Circle Card

This card base is pre-made by Recollections. I inked the whole thing with distress ink and sprayed it with Dylusions golden mist. The main butterfly is a fan that I cut in half. The fan die cut has been in my stash for years and I  wanted to get rid of it. There was a challenge to use something Japanese and so I came up with this idea. The rhinestones and other green butterflies are f rom my stash. The sentiment die cut is by Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for looking. Warning, I have a lot of Christmas cards coming up in the next few weeks..

The glittery paper strip behind the center embellishment is cardstock that was sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

Manly Monday Joe's 40th birthday card with Eyelets

The concept was good the execution was not so good. I really don't want to talk about this card because it took forever and it turned out so juvenile. I can't say I will do it again but can't is a strong word and I do have a few other ideas I want to try using my eyelets.
The sentiment stamp is by Paper Smooches.
The eyelets are from my stash.
I like the next picture with the added
center to the zero.

The paper tore at the VERY LAST minute. I didn't want to try and "fix it" and risk making it worse. UGH!

Here's the inside sentiment accompanied by a massive amount of 40's sequins.

1981~1983 Scrapbook pocket pages family album

There is a story that goes with these first two layouts. The short version is, there were family members that didn't want to look at these scrapbooks.
And I can’t make them. SO...
I had already finished the layout on the left. The 1982 page on the right was made after that occurrence.
Then I was told that I can't have my feelings hurt if people don't want to look at the Groh Boy books. I was only a jerk for the next couple of layouts. A friend strongly encouraged me to go back and add labels to these pages. I will when I'm ready to.

The patterned paper in this layout are by Recollections, Craft Smith, Best Creations, and Carta Bella. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. The name labels are alpha stamps from Lawn Fawn. The number stickers were by Pink Paislee. The Christmas trees and the arrow are cut out using my Cricut. The green rounded square is by Spellbinders which has been inked with green distress ink. The letter stickers are by Little Yellow Bicycle and word stickers were by SRM Stickers.

Thanks for looking.

Chalk zig zag border card

This card was a bit frustrating to make. As my husband would say, this card is kicking your butt...and why, well

The Spellbinders zigzag borders are covered with powdered chalk mixed with paint.
The borders are leftovers from this card:
The sentiment stamp is one that I bought off of eBay.
I used different colored distress inks to give it a multi-color appearance. Then I hand cut the sentiment out and inked the edges with distress ink.

So here was my drama with this card:
I lacked planning the card before I put it together. When I put glue adhesive on the entire zigzag border, the glue stayed on the card base and was tacky. I could not remove the border from the card because it started to come apart. So when I decided to do this frame, the adhesive was/is on the card where those zigzag die-cuts were going to be. WTH did I just say?

The adhesive is everywhere and I can’t get it off with an adhesive remover square thingy. The corner pieces are so small that when I rubbed over them with the square adhesive remover the corners came off.
The adhesive got on the edges of the card where I originally placed the border. But now that I’m thinking of it and writing this, I could just cut the frame off this card base end it here it to another one, and then cut those corners out to adhere to another card base as well. I might just do that.

November Calendar Layout in pink and purple

These are our California nieces and nephew. I'm not sure where they were in CA that it snowed but it did. The snowflake is a sticker by Jolee's. The mittens are by The Paper House. The patterned paper is by Die Cuts with a View.
Thanks for looking

So...Two things about today's post:
First thing, I didn't use traditional fall colors on this
November calendar layout.

The second thing, It's a November calendar layout and today is Dec 1st. I ran out of Wednesdays in November. I don't want to wait until next year November. I am working on getting this 2021 calendar all posted. If I skip this one month, I will probably forget it, or more than likely, I will post it twice.
Anyway...A more Christmas-type calendar layout will be posted next week.

Manly Monday Birthday Balloons, Cakes, and Presents cards

Blue paper is by Studio G and the green paper is by Making Memories.
I sewed strings for the balloons with embossing floss by DMC. I then put foam adhesive under the balloon to accommodate for the height that the floss adds to the element.
The scallop circle sentiment is stamped and punched out of dimensional foam. The card uses stamps from Stampin'Up.

The ribbon is by Stampin Up. Patterned paper by Studio G. Label die cut by Design Objectives. Yellow rectangle by Spellbinders. Border punch by Tim Holtz.Brads from stash. This card is a total fail but I can't take it apart and start over.

This one is so ugly and I don't know what to do with it. It's definitely manly.

November Calendar Layout Two Little Indians

This calendar layout is from my brother's Nov 2020 calendar. Aren't my Mom and I cute? She couldn't understand why we were dressed this way (costume party at the living center) She passed away in 2019-failure to thrive due to dementia. I miss her but I should say I miss the Mom from before 2013. She's in a better place and I would hate to have her be around when Covid hit America and life as we knew changed. You know what I'm talking about.
The background paper is by Colorbok and the patterned paper frame is by Accord Publishing. Stickers on the side are by The Paper Studio. The wood leaf is by Maya Roads. The word Thankful is by a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set. Thanks for looking

Happy Holidays metal sentiment Card

I made a Christmas card. The tree stamp is an oldie by Stampin' Up and colored in with Copic markers. The star on top is an eyelet. The background patterned paper is an oldie by Provo Craft. The green layer behind the tree is cardstock from my stash and then the next layer is a sticker that I've been trying to use up.
The sentiment is metal and engraved with happy holidays. It is from Making Memories. The tag that it is under is by My Mind's Eye. The silver paper circle punch is by Creative Memories. The brad inside the circle is from my stash.

Thanks for looking.
This card also uses the same metal sentiment

Time for Cake-Mimi's Work photos Double Page Scrapbook Layout

The patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye. The stickers are unknown. The chipboard is by Prima (I'm almost finished with this package of chipboard. Sounds silly but it is an accomplishment. The pen is a Dreamweaver stencil that I inked the design with distress pads and then added translucent embossing paste over that. The arrows were cut out of my Cricut. I hate writing on layouts but there's no room for a typed-up explanation. As well as, Idk what the occasion was for these pictures but they were "professional" type photos. Here are my thoughts, maybe there was a teacher that was into photography and took these pictures. But, again IDK, and Mimi is so gone that she can't tell us.

I do not love these layouts but I still want to document them on my blog.

The Value of an idea Card

This sentiment is a great lead-in to a belated birthday card. The idea is to send the card on time.
I find it funny that recently I used ribbon on a card and now ribbon has been on a bunch of my cards.
The centerpiece of the card is an ATC that I give credit to in the picture below.
I stamped the background with Close to My Heart stamps. The ribbon is by Offray and the dots are by Gina Marie.

Below is the ATC designer.

Manly Monday Yellow Sympathy Cards

I made these for a male colleague whose father passed away. I think they work well for a dude and that's why I'm posting them for Manly Monday. The patterned paper is by K and Co, the Danny O 12x12 double-sided designer paper. I've used it a few times in the Groh Boy Books.
The sympathy stamp on the first card is by Fiskars and it is stamped onto a Spellbinders die cut. The
sentiment stamp for the card in the center is by  Hero Arts. The sentiment on the left is by Stampendous.

Side note...I hate my indoor setup for taking pictures. I can't get the lighting to capture the true color of my cards. I've searched and watched Youtube videos on how to take photos of crafts with the angle of the camera, the lighting, or lightboxes and never found the right video that worked for me and my area.
Then, I found one lady that I really liked. She was taking pictures of cards and not just crafts. I watched her first and second videos with excitement. But just when she was going to go to the next level, I'm thinking of a third video of what to do... she offers a class to get the rest of the information.
So I go and look up her class price thinking it might be worth it. The class was $65. I might have paid that price but and there's always a but, that $65 was for one section of the class on taking pictures of cards.
Say What?!
After that, I had to give myself a break from watching YouTube videos on taking pictures of my cards. The disappointment of getting nothing out of time spent and wasted was bumming me out.
Here's my example of how I can't get the true color.
This card below was taken in my craft room. It just isn't the same color as the real cards. It is a work in progress and a challenge to conquer.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.
