Deep Red Stamps Joy Card

I have a new card to share today featuring a new Deep Red stamp. The Santa Claus ticket can be found at A Cherry On Top. It comes in a set of four vintage tickets and is fun for an accent or can be used as the focal image.  For this card I used it as an accent to my vintage Christmas card. I stamped it on white cardstock using Hero Arts black ink ad then cut it out leaving space along the margins. Then I colored it in with distress markers and used Antique Linen distress ink to change the color of the tag from white to off white. Then I took a pair of decorative scissors and rubbed them across the edges of the stamp to distress the edges.

For the rest of my card I used Bo Bunny patterned paper for the base and Echo Park for the lacy border. The ribbon is truly vintage, I found it within my husbands grandmother's sewing stuff. The die cuts were cut out from my Cricut except the small leaves were a punch.

The top layer of the Christmas tree was cut with white paper and then I altered it to give the tree dimension. First off the tree is two pieces for the top piece I ran it through my Cuttlebug with a Christmas embossing folder. Then I made it the green color it is with distress inks. The label it is on was also enhanced with distree inks.

For the holly leaves, they are die cuts from Cricut using Making Memories green patterned paper. Then I scored them using my Fiskars paper trimmer. I inked the edges with a little bit of Forest Moss distress ink. Then I used foam adhesive under the middle of the leaf to adhere it to my paper. The pearls were paink and I used a Copic marker to make them red.

Thanks for looking.

Manly Monday Moose Masking technique card

My card is featuring a Moose stamp from Stamp N Plus. I thought he was perfect for manly cards. I stamped him on Strathmore watercolor paper using Hero Arts black ink. I colored him in with distress markers and a water pen before making a mask of the moose using masking paper by Inkadinkado. I covered the moose with the mask and made my background using distress inks and an ink blender all from Ranger. I used the colors Broken China and Tumbled Glass for the sky and then Crushed Olive for the grass. I wanted to hide my crafty boo-boo so I stamped a grass stamp also by Stamp N Plus where the sky meets the ground. I think I could do more to make the boo-boo blend into the grass but haven't done it yet.

After I colored in the image and created the sky and the ground, I sprayed it with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. I mounted the image onto brown cardstock and then pieced together the rest of my card with things I had been hoarding for some time now. Who knows why I save things instead of using them. Idk-smh. I do know the sentiment is by The Paper Loft. They have some great outdoor papers and sentiments to go with them.
So I will be looking for manly cards to post upon my return Monday, January 6, 2014. Until then I do have a few manly layouts to share along with some cards. I will be posting in December I just won't have time to postcards made by other crafters. I hope you understand. Thank you.

Please forgive the terrible lateness of this post. I'll say it again-that job thing that I have to go to really puts a cramp in my crafting time-lol. If I didn't have to go there four days a week I think I would be able to get these posts out on time. With that being said, the Christmas holiday is a very busy time for me. I make more than a dozen calendars for family members. My time online will be limited. I think it would be best to postpone Manly Monday until the start of the new year. It's hard to find masculine cards when all the challenge sites are doing Christmas challenges.
Well, here we go...
